  1. Okay! We have... -gotten our wedding bands -my dress -FI outfit, MOH outfit, and best man outfit -hair flower, veil, shoes -travel mug favors -working on the newsletter -place cards and that jazz We are getting there! Little by little! I am graduating May12 and am applyig to grad school, taking tests, and playing the waiting game on top of wedding planning! I need a cocktail!
  2. These are all such great ideas!! I am debating wearing my hair half up, or wearing swept to the side to keep it out of my face...I don't know! I know it can be windy in RM, so I don't know what to do!
  3. Where are the collectivos? Are they buses? I was just down there and I did not see them. Where do they take you, how much do they cost each way per person, and how do they know to be there to take you back to the resort??
  4. I want to use your pics as my inspiration pics!
  5. We went last week to the Bahia Principe. All of the resorts are nice, but it is nice to wake up and be right by the beach when you are at Tulum. We met a couple who was staying at Coba and they said they had a small pool and they would have preferred to be by the beach. Just be sure of what you want! But they are all very nice!!!
  6. OMG, you ladies are freaking me out! I still have so much to do... I have so much going on, I need to find time for all of it!
  7. I hear Charleston is beautiful! But I also heard their are roaches and palmetto bugs everywhere! My MOH's friend lives in Summerville and she said I would flip out in Charleston because of the "palmies" (this is what we call the huge bugs) but it looks so beautiful, I really want to visit! Sincerely, Joanna... the palmie-phobic!

  9. So, should MOH invite all of the women who were attending the wedding? They are all good friends for the most part (I am a friendly gal, it is difficult to leave people out!)
  10. We basically discussed many details... the flowers, the reception... the prices, what food is included in the mixed grill for our private reception... we saw weddings while we were there, and a private reception as well and we were impressed...I will go through my notebook and write anything I have within the next day or so... Seeing the relaxed vibe helped to calm my fears... we are just being a little crazy because we have about 70 people going, so it's more organizational issues!!!
  11. I just got back last night from Riviera Maya to check out the resort for our wedding... We did see heavier police forces along the highway, but we were fine... the Canadians kept telling us the U.S. media was scaring us... we met many Canadians, many Europeans, and a small handful of Americans who were also told they were crazy by various people to visit Mexico. I do believe that people should take caution, like, do not travel alone on roads at night... (but I wouldn't do that in the bad cities where I live now!)... Something we need to remember, as that article stated, is that the tourism industry keeps this area of Mexico alive... There are thousands of workers who work at the resorts, hundreds of drivers from the airport... they depend on the tourism money... I also spoke to some of the people who live there (my Spanish skills were right on, all came flooding back, so weird!!!) They said it is bad by the U.S. border, and I even joked that we should not be "estupido" and be "cuidado" in what we do... so, we were sad to come home!!! So nice!!!
  12. We just got back from Mexico, and from what we discovered, the media seemed to scare away a lot of Americans. There were tons of Europeans and Canadians, but we met a few Americans and they said that people warned them not to travel there as well. We had a great time, did not leave the resort at night, or drive at night. And I got mad at my father for making me hysterical!!
  13. Jen I am so sorry! This stinks, but I hope you still enjoyed your wedding, you look stunning!!! Jazmin just really seemed on the ball with things, and I told her all of my concerns. She said she tries to see things from our P.O.V. and that she says, "okay, if this were my wedding, what would I want". I am sorry that Yuritza was so flakey and rude. That is not right, because this is a big day in your life. The staff around the resort were very helpful and friendly, and the waiters would go above and beyond to make us happy. (We had a huge drink container carved out of a pineapple and friends that we met wanted one too, so the bartender in the dining room went and got all different fruit and made them one out of a melon!) The worst experience that I had is that a little lizard in the hacienda fell on my neck, and I FREAKED out, thinking it was a flying roach or something. There are a lot of kids, but we met many adults as well from Canada, and the U.S., and we would usually wind up hanging out at meals and grabbing drinks. The beach at Tulum is a little rocky, but we wore water shoes and were fine. It is WAY less croweded than the Akumal beach, but Akumal had more calm spots to swim. All in all, we were sad to leave!!!
  14. Hey! I am back, and we ended up staying at Tulum... it was AWESOME! Jazmin was very helpful, and I am excited to return in June! This place was a blast, no complaints...

  16. Okay ladies, I am off to GBP tomorrow morning! TTY when we get back!!!
  17. I need a starfish! Is there any way I can borrow one for our wedding on June 27th? Or where can I purchase one?!
  18. I know, it's kind of dumb... but I think you are paying for the whole bar setup... I will let you know how it all goes! Of course I have a cold and a cough now, this sucks!!! I m taking vitamin C like it's my job!!!
  19. Hey Lino! We are doing the same on June 27th... We are leaving this Friday to visit, so I will let you know anything we find out! If you get this before tomorrow, let me know any questions you want asked!! PS, you live close by be!
  20. I went to my parents house last night and we are leaving for Mexico Friday... my father proceeded to come downstairs and tell us Bill O'reilly says we are nuts if we go to Mexico, and basically made me cry hysterically... nice dad, I understand worry, but please don't make me question everything when we have 70 people booked to come to our Mexico wedding... EVERYTHING I have read says it is all by the borders of the U.S. far from Riviera Maya... Now my father made me a nervous train wreck....
  21. awesome! I will check this out... we are going to Mexico this Friday to check out our resort in Riviera Maya, and we will be traveling to PDC... thanks!
  22. Totally true... I am assuming stagette is a bachelorette party? I am a Jersey girl!!! And I thought the same exact thing about the shower... I want everyone to be included, especially those that cannot attend the wedding... I think we will have to have a smaller number for the bachelorette party though, because I feel like it would be out of control if we have everyone!!!! But I guess the more the merrier...
  23. I would only have MOH invite the ladies who were invited to the wedding... We have lots of family (aunts, cousins, and even some great friends) who will not be attending the wedding for financial reasons, but I think it will be sad not to have these close friends at the shower... a few of the girls I have been great friends with since i was 10, and they cannot make it for job/ money reasons... so I guess it will be okay to invite them!
  24. My MOH is planning my bridal shower, and since we are having a DW, many guests will not be traveling with us to Mexico... is it still proper etiquette to invite them to the shower? I almost think I will feel bad if they are not there, because they are still friends/family... what is the right thing, not rude thing to do?? I also do not want to come off as a gift whore lol... so.... help??!! suggestions?!?
