Okay... We are having many guests to our wedding in Mexico on June 27th, and most leave with the group on June 25th. MANY of the guests have complained about the TA, with things varying from she does not return phone calls, does not respond to e-mails, and we also had 3 guests who refused to book with her because she was short with them, rude, or did not return multiple phone calls. Also, any time someone gets upset or pissed at her for multiple reasons (will list below) she calls me and tells me about how they were mad at her, and vents. I try to be understanding. We are having well over 30 guests book through her and the agency, and over $45,000 has been paid to them. Here are the problems that have occurred and stressed me the F out. 1) After sending out invites and getting responses, they informed me that we may have to switch the date/resort because the resort was not willing to budge on prices for the group rates. (After she gave me the OK to get the invitations made). 2) Guests were told the remainder of payments were to be made by April 15th, and then were informed at the beginning of March that the money was due March 22, even though she had posted on our wedding website, and on a receipt that it was due April 15th. When I informed her that two close guests may have to back out because of this sudden change, she explained that she couldn't do anything because the airline wouldnt let her. Then I called the corporate office and suddenly, magically, the date went back to April 15th. 3) Swine flu, passes.... thank God.... a friend calls and tells me our flight times have changed due to condensed flights. He assumed I knew. I call TA and she says this is correct and that as soon as she has the information, she will e-mail it to me (never got it, had to call weeks later to get the info). 4) TA informs me info would be mailed out 30 days prior to trip (had to call to find that out). People leave 24 days from today, and nothing was mailed out, because as she says, she didnt receive airline info until the beginning of last week (had to call her to find this out). People are calling me, wondering why nothing has been sent (people have told me they call and call and e-mail and she does not respond, when I tell her this she says "I must not have gotten the messages") 5) One of my friends had called her 3 times to get a receipt, finally she said she would mail her info, and never did. Then my friend had her father call to get answers, and he demanded to have the information overnighted, only to find that her name was spelled wrong twice on the air vouchers, and only correct on the credit card slip. When I called her manager today (who informs me now that info will be mailed out to guests most likely Wednesday, leaving them less than 20 days to deal with these mistakes) he says that "these mistakes happen with so many people in the group" Well, one of my friends had her name spelled incorrectly and could not get on a flight.... He, like the TA, made like the guests were over-reacting.... and TA called to complain to me any time someone got upset with her. Now I called her defending my guests, and trying to get answered, and she got kind of weird with me. This company is well known, and we are bringing them a LOT of business with our wedding, and the treatment we have received has been terrible. Do I write a letter to corporate now? Will she try to screw me over? Do I write one when I get home? Many I my close friends have insisted I do something because she has not been a good TA and I have had to harass her for information, and guests thought she was super rude. What do I do It's not fair that they get all of this business and the whole process has been a nightmare for myself and many of my guests.... and every time something goes wrong I find myself calling her to apologize, when in reality she is not relating ANY of this information to us, and then claiming "I didn't get the messages" and being silent when I told her I had this complaint from many guests... What do I do? Still don't have my info, hopefully will get it by June 8th, so hopefully if they spell our freaking names wrong we can solve in within the 2 weeks before the wedding....Sorry its so long... please help!!!

Hey! I have a question that I totally forgot to even ask about when I went down last time.. can you use/rent snorkeling equipment at the resort?? It would be nice to not have to drag down a bunch of snorkel crap...or gear! haha

I just had a guest call and say they are still debating and making their final decision regarding our June 27th wedding.... can someone tell me, are there even swine flu cases in the RM??

Yeah, the SAME thing happened to ours!!! The logo is really tiny... but, we are just going with it because we ordered like 75... WTF though... it looks WAY smaller than what we did as the proof.... I am very wary about that kind of stuff... cause its a lot of money for it not to come out even close to the size we wanted....

I went to St. Thomas in June... Definitely do AI, the island itself is really expensive. (food and such). We stayed at the Marriot and and Secret Harbor. We met people who stayed at Bolongo and loved it. A good place to grab food/drinks in Charlotte Amelie that is not killer expensive and has good food is the Greenhouse. A splurge, but AMAZING dinner and atmosphere is the Blue Moon Cafe at Secret Harbor. Expensive, but one of the best meals FI have ever had.

Davids Bridal has a great selection. I got my dress here... In many of the stores that carry top designers, they tend to look pretty crappy on plus size ladies such as myself (just my opinion)... I think they cater to smaller girls. Davids dresses actually look really nice, and typically have a really nice price as well. Just my opinion from the high end designer plus size gowns I've seen... (unless it's couture I guess, but thats big bucks)

This might sound crazy, but I am thinking of getting my MOH a weekend getaway to Newport RI at a bed and breakfast, and a gas card for the trip too... She has all the jewelry she likes, she is my only person in the bridal party and she went ABOVE and beyond for my shower, gifts, and everything else you could possible think of!! So, I think she deserves it, because my wedding would not be happening without her...

Hahaha, I know, bring in the big rigs right?? And the funny part is, people have NO qualms about talking about 'your boobs are so big' or 'give me some' ... I don't think I would ever make comments to someone with a flat chest lol... guess it's the price we pay for the big boobage!! Another thing, Le Mystere strapless (and regular bras) are wonderful. My Dr. recommended them after me complaining about how all supportive bras looked like they were for old ladies... they are fantastic bras... and Lane Bryant makes nice strapless ones too, and staps as well... the push up plunge bra does wonders!!

Oh, and I have the bandeau swimdress from Newport News... I loveee it... I just bought another one... it even holds up the girls when the nexk thing isn't tied... I need to see if I have a pic of me in it from Mexico...

I got my suits from Newport News!! They are literally like the only bathing suits that will support my big boobs... You can find plus size suits in a lot of places, but not ones that give good support...

Everyone said Duffys Love shack was great... we went last June and stayed at the Marriot and at Secret Harbour... we LOVED Secret Harbour... Condo layout, nice beach with the bar and Blue Moon Cafe Restaurant which had the BEST food ever (and we are food whores)... we saw weddings going on there too, and they were nice!! All of the locals say for night life go to Red Hook, and they also suggested Duffys....

This is totally a concern of mine too... I feel like I look like a different person with my hair up, and I like it MUCh better down... do, we will see how it goes...

Everyone looks better with a little color... but I am debating going to the tanning booth. I am fair and typically wear SPF all of the time, but when we went to Mexico for the site visit, I got burnt even with applying sunscreen all the time (In weird random places... I looked like a leopard). So, I am debating going to the tanning bed for a few times to "build up" my skin. Do you ladies think this is a good idea? I know tanning is bad for you, but I also know fake tans look orange, and can splotch and streak in chlorine from the pool.... so, what do you think? Go to the bed a few times?? My friend did it before she went to DR and didn't get burnt....

Ladies, since I feel like we all share SO much with eachother, I need to let you all know that as of tonight, about an hour ago, I am officially a college graduate!! I have earned my BA in English Literature and am starting grad. school in the fall for my Master of Arts in teaching!!! This is such a big accomplishment for me, it took me 7 years, on and off to finish.... I dropped out and waitressed, got fired, and then pushed myself to return to school to finish up... AND I DID IT! I want to cry... one and a half months before my wedding... I am just so happy.... excited...and happy to share the news with all of you!!! Off to the ceremony in the morning!!!

Seriously, this air transat need to chill the F out... The media is CRAZY if we haven't all figured that one out yet... maybe now Sine Flu will disappear since John and Kate are on the outs... give me a break... seems to be what happened right?

I struggle with my weight too, but it is good you are getting everything checked out because, regardless of feeling bad, that is something that should not happen... Don't get yourself upset, just be your own advocate and find out why these things are happening to your body! With proper health, the weight will come off, but taking care of the health part is first... it will get better, don't be upset... just take care of yourself!!! )PS, I love how in high school when I was a size 14 my older skinny-ass brother would say "Just drink water" as he chowed down McDonalds!! Don't let it get to you.... health first, then the weight will work itself out!
