Well ladies, I'm down 1.5 pounds since Wednesday and that's not even with working out. At this rate I will be fine before the wedding. I honestly am not to worried about Jamaica, even with all of the yummy food and drinks. I tend to be super active on vacation and they have a great gym! I'll be working out as much as possible this weekend and am thinking of doing a few hot yoga sessions for the extra sweat. I've cut out carbs and have primarily been eating raw foods and the occasional cheese cube during the day, oatmeal for breakfast and chicken breast for dinner. I haven't been eating anything after 8pm. I've had so much water, I think I need to invest in diapers. There have been a few near accidents! LOL! I have a tiny bladder as it is, so this is interesting. Not drinking has been a little challenging. Sitting at the ballfield while FI plays in 95 degree weather and having to turn down a frosty cold bottle o'brew takes will power, but I did it! Thanks so much for all of the support! BDW is the absolute best!

I LOVE the idea of a gala! Would it be tacky to wear our wedding gowns? My dress is the most formal thing I own and it would techincally fit black-tie dress code. JM we would never shun you! Who were the mean people at the party? Random people you didn't recognize or people you know who were supposed to be us?

If there is more, I think I will have a breakdown! 1) My dress won't zip and I leave in 10 days. This is fixable. I'm already down 1.5 pounds since Wednesday, so at this rate I'll be fine. Worst case senario, the resort has a suana and I can go sweat my ass off the day before if I need to. 2) I went to pick up my flowers (silks) from my florist and they were awful! Ugly is the nicest word I can use to describe them! It took everything I had not to cry in the middle of the store in front of the other customes. I was in such a state of shock, I didn't even take a picture! There was some major mis-communications! It appeared they took cheapo Walmart flowers to the special-ed class room and let them design a craft project. (no offense to special-ed, it's just no quite the look I was going for. I was at least expecting the B team to work on my flowers!) My bouquet was supposed to be all white, with little greenery and only pink accents (like the stamen, etc.) I did not have 1 white flower in the damn thing! They were supposed to be hand-tied in aqua ribbon that I bought and took to them. Nope, they were wrapped in the cheap white grossgrain (funeral) ribbon and you could see the yellow glue dots through the ribbon. They are re-doing them and I can pick them up Monday. I'm now terrified for my AHR! I hate it because it the the florist I use all of the time for work so I'm embarrassed if this is the qulaity they are sending out and I'm hurt if they are trying to take advantage of me. 3) I just found out that my first boyfriend was killed in a car accident! I'm just heart-broken. I'm not still pining away, but he really was my first "big-girl" boyfriend my senior year of high school and freshman year of college. We dated off and on for about 3 years! We actually went on dates, and spent the night together, took his little sister to the zoo, that kind of thing. I was just thinking of him the other day. I guess it's that I am getting married that I have been reflecting on past relationships, wondering what some of them are doing now. He was such a sweetie. He used to tell me that he would marry me before he died, even if I was his 4th wife, he was going to do it. We haven't talked in over a year and he actually died in January. So now I can't even go to a funeral or anything. I feel bad contacting his family after so long, but no one ever called me. I'm done with my bad things. I want happy stuff now! A little over a week to go!

So, "fuckery" is the owrd of the day! I LOVE it and will begin using it immediately. My BM did the same exact thing to me, backed out less than a month before the wedding. You just have to be the bigger person and be comfortable knowing that those who truly want to be there will find a way to get there. I agree that I think it is a combination of gulit and embarrassment and she doesn't know how to deal with it. Then, I'm thinking in her head she is trying to turn it around on me, like it's my fault for having such an expensive wedding. Then, the avoidance goes on for so long, that they don't know how to start talking to you again.

Lancome has the best waterproof eyeliner. There is one from Mybelline, I think, but it isn't as good. I'll be wearing fake eyelashes with waterproof glue for the wedding and the TTD. I'm not planning a ton of make-up, but do want to brighten my face a little. I'm guessing any of the Color Stay makeups will work well for as long as you will be in the water. I'm sure that you won't get your full 12 hours of wear, but it should last long enough to get you through the shoot.

It just boggles my mind! It fit perfectly when I dropped it off! The gym also has a sauna so that might be an option, sweat some of it off! I'm also enforcing a strict no eating after 7pm rule and a you must eat breakfast rule. Thanks Glenda! I know it can be done, it just sucks that we have to do it! I'll be good tonight and let you know what happens in the morning! I need some sit down exercises I can do while at my computer! I still have to do programs and iteneraries for all of the guests.

My first fitting - with pics, of course

Becks! You look beautiful! That dress is going to be absolutely perfect on the beach! -
I went in for my final fitting last night. All that was left to do was steam the dress and I'd be ready to go. Well, the damn thing won't zip! It is almost there, but the seamstress said she didn't want to pull it up and risk breaking the zipper. I don't get it! I'm down 3 pounds from when I dropped it off! I'm hoping it's just because I had Chinese food and beer on Monday night and I was just retaining water. SHe did say that when people get hot, they tend to swell. WTF am I supposed to do in Jamaica!?! So, I need to lose a minimum of 5 pounds, preferably 10 so I can actually breathe, by next Wednesday. She's having me come in for a final final fitting and if she needs to, she can redo the back panel and re-configure the zipper. I'm sure it will cost me a fortune to do that! If anyone has any crash diet tips, let me know! So far, I'm drinking water like crazy (I'm afraid I will pee in my pants!), I've cut out carbs, I plan to work out as much as I can but I have a TON of stuff to do before we leave. I might just have to clean the house in a plastic sweat suit! I don't know how I'm not completely freaking out, but I'm pretty proud of myself. I hosetly think it is because I don't have time to have a breakdown right now!

If you want a quick fix, cut out carbs and fat and drink lots of water. There is a book called the "Fat Smash" diet, but Dr. Ian somebody. It is the diet used on VH1 Celebrity Fit Club. You start off by doing a 10 day "cleanse" where you only eat fruits and veggies - no carbs, dairy, alcohol, sodas, and very little fat. After that, you start adding in more foods in moderation. It works really well. I dropped about 8 pounds in a week for a vacation. Then I proceeded to pig out on vacation and gain it all back! LOL

We're doing the whole big thing a month after we return. I'm expecting between 250 and 300 guests. I have a hall, dj, florits, lighting tech, rentals, full bar, hot hd's., etc. I'm thinking of it more as an upscale cocktail party. We'll have dancing and eating, but no specific time line. I'm not throwing a bouquet or garter. I haven't decided, but I think we will play light music during cocktails then FI and I will have a "first dance" to open the floor. I'm having a small cake, but mainly as a centerpiece. We are doing a dessert buffet and candy bar. I'm having a sushi bar as a surprise for FI. It's his favorite food! The wedding party that can make it will be wearing their outfits and we will have a screen to play a DVD of the wedding and a photo montlage thingy. Part of the reason we are having such a large scale event is because I am in the industry. So, 1) I'm getting lots of stuff free or at cost and 2) there is a certain expectation of what my "wedding" will be.

Gwen is getting so big! I know she will be just fine! Have you kept a journal or anything so you can share with her when she gets older? A guy I used to work with had a son who was 6 or 7 weeks early. The doctor told him to be sure to write everything down, his feelings, etc to help him process all that was going on. He did it and when he came back to work, told us he had enough guilt ammo to get through the teenage years! LOL Of course his baby was very sick (wimpy white boy) and not doing nearly as well as little GWen.

I took everything, the undergarments, slip, both pairs of shoes, veil, and jewelry! I wanted to see the whole package! At my first fitting I didn't have the veil and just used one there at the boutique that was similar to mine. If you can't find a bag, use a trash bag, lay it flat and roll it so it doesn't get all smashed and wrinkled.

Sarah, it sounds AMAZING! I'm jealous! I'm so glad you are having such a good time. I know planning had its share of ups and downs. I know you will have a wonderful wedding and I can't wait to hear all about it and see pictures! Thanks for checking in!

Where is Jamaica are you getting married? I have some pricing for Floral Fantasies in Negril. The decor and availability of outside vendors will really be dependant on your resort.

It's a tough choice! All of our ladies are getting close to qualifying for the Mrs category!

Morgan, I'm see Nibblet's was having fun at Mike's Bachelor party BBQ! I hope he doesn't go crazy at the AI with all of that free cerveza! Is there any Advil in his OOT bag? And who is that chick hanging all over him? I thought there was a no stripper rule! -
Who else if 5 months away? What have you done already?

Morgan, you are in much better shape than I am! I thought I was nearly done, but every day something else is added to the list! AHHHHH! -
Have a wonderful wedding! You did so much hard work, I know it will be beautiful! I can't wait for details and pictures!

Most of us have gone through similar concerns. No matter where, when, or how much, the people who want to be there will be there. This is such an important time for you and your FI, you need to do what is best for you. If this means you elope and have a ceremony with just you two, then go for it. You can always have a reception at home, of any level of formality, to celebrate when you return.

Rachel it's ok to be in a bitchy mood. I personally get tired of always being cheerful and nice and politically correct, especially at work when I just want to scream, "What kind of F-ing idiot are you?" You'll perk up, just give yourself some time. Watch a funny movie, drink something, or maybe call a friend you haven't talked to in a while. Oooh, you could also break out your hs yearbook and be really glad you aren't 15 anymore with stupid hair. That usually works for me! Big hugs & feel better!
