  1. They are super sweet to work with. Even though this is a busy time they still got back to me in a day or 2 each time I had a question. I was very happy with the quality and the pricing.
  2. Is there a particular issue you are looking for? I had a subscription last year during my planning.
  3. They will work, but your linens will need to be a lighter shade, i.e. pastel pink not hot pink. Depending on the fabric, you probably won't get as much of a glow. If you like the look, you can always go with white under linens and colored toppers with an accent colored placemat, runner, etc.
  4. Becks, thanks for the Nibblet Report. I kept wondering how he was doing while I was away! I wonder if you can take a ferret to Jamaica?
  5. Welcome to the forum! Happy Planning!
  6. I'm with Danielle, I like first names! LOL Unless you are concerned with a FIL finding out all of the bad things you've said about them on-line. Why the change?
  7. I think you will be fine with spacing. You'll only need 9-10 tables. I would probably to a horseshoe or big square with tables on the outside and the dance floor in the middle. You wouldn't want your guests having to peer over someone's shoulder to see you.
  8. Those are great! I lvoe that you included your puppy! It's nice when you can have the same photographer for all of you events. Not only do teh pictures flow well together, but I think when you can build a relationship, the pictures are that much better.
  9. Are you serious Some people just can't take a joke. This is a big problem with society! Everyone is so litigious these days! The judge who takes this case needs to be smacked! You can't tell me that she was caused mental anguish by not winning a car, when she was a Hooter girl! I was a Hooter Girl (for a day). Believe me, you put up with a lot more bullshit on a daily basis that could traumatize you.
  10. I don't know what it is, but ever since the wedding I have been pigging out! (No I'm not preggo yet) I don't know if I have this false sense of security that I don't have to fit into a wedding dress or what! I am waering my dress again at the AHR at the end of the month. So, I think I will give myself 1 more day of junk, because I had 4 cookies for lunch, and get back on the wagon. The funny thing is I don't even like junk food. My body hates it! I've been nauseated and bloated all week but we've been so busy it's drive-thru or microwave dinner!
  11. I'm thinking I like the larger arrangement in the center with a lamp on each end. You don't want too much on the table. My experience was that the restaurants put so much on the table to begin with (plates, silverware, glasses), it can easily get crowded. My resort also gave us some extra decoration. I didn't plan or pay for this, they just did it because it was our wedding.
  12. My resort wasn't the cheapest. However, I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for. If we had chosen a less expensive resort we would have had more guests (probably). But it was not worth it to me to sacrifice what I wanted for the rest of the group. It was my wedding and I wanted to be happy! LOL Also, you need to check into what you get for the money. All of our food, drinks, room service, transfers, watersports (motorized and non-motorized), as well as several excursions were included. Sometimes the rooms might be cheaper but you will end up spending the same amount of money. The bottom line with a DW is those who want to come will come. Those that don't will always have SOME kind of excuse. If it's not the money, it's the timing, the location, the airline, etc.
  13. We had great luck with Men's Warehouse for suits. They have the buy one get one thing going on right now so each suit was about $180 before alterations. They were khaki silk, so very light and breathable. I agree with Danielle to browse the GM thread. I'm sure you'll find lots of good advice!
  14. Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you will get some great info from the members and we always appreciate a professional opinion. If you haven't already done so, please read the vendor rules: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t921
  15. Welcome! I was going to suggest something Coca-Cola as well!
  16. Jessica you looked beautiful! I loved your hair, too! I'm so happy everythine went so well. I loved the reception decor!
  17. Where in Jamaica are you getting married? I got married in Nergil and our resort contracted through Floral Fantasies. Floral Fantasy; Flowers for All Occasions from Negril, Jamaica I know they deliver to OR but I don't know what the charge would be. Check with your coordinator to see who they use and if they allow outside vendors first. Our resort actually got my flowers cheaper because they do so much business with them. My total floral bill was about $250. That included 9 bags of rose petals for the aisle and for guests to throw at us, 2 aisle marker arrangements of orchids and ginger lillies, 4 single stems of dendrobium orchids for centerpieces, the aisle runner, and the cymbidium orchids for my cake. Keep in mind with orchids, it depends greatly on the variety you wish to use. My dendrobiums were $7 per stem whereas phalenopsis are about $30 per stem.
  18. Make Jay go get your burger! After all of this build up, you'll probably take one bite and toss it! My MOH was incredibly sick during both of her pregnancies. All she could keep down were cheese fries and nachos! We have mexican restaurant here that she was craving, so when I went down to visit the baby I brought her some nachos. I had the restaurant bulk pack everything and assembled them there. (This was back when you could bring food on a plane)
  19. Welcome! We have tons of Jamaica brides so I'm sure you'll find lots of info. Have you chosen a resort yet?
  20. Yea! I guess. LOL I have horrible periods so it's always a mixed happy/sad feeling when it comes.
  21. Elizabeth takes such amazing photos, you have absolutely nothing to worry about! We can't wait to see them!
  22. Thanks for the reminder Alyssa. Even us "vetrans" can sometimes forget. A lot of my posts end up in Random Thoughts, mainly because they are my random thoughts.
  23. Thanks for sharing with all of us! Your dress is beautiful. I'd love to see the final fitting shots. ANd the bachelorette looked like a blast! I love costume parties and might have to suggest the heroes and princesses theme for our next one!
  24. The AHR is the 26th of July. Like Carly, I was just going to somehow pull up the pictures and hit play. I'm still waiting on the photos from the photographer and it will probably take until the end of the week to get them. I don't know what I need!
  25. That is a beautiful dress! What color will the sash be?
