  1. That is great! DH would freak out!!!
  2. I want to send a big thank you to Amy!!!! I got my gift Tuesday night but was having camera issues. I hate to post without pictures, I knowhow you girls are! I got a Food Network cookbook to add to my collection, a beautiful palm tree frame that will look great with a B&W photo of us, and a photo album that is the perfect shade of aqua. I'm thinking of using it for our AHR guestbook. We are going to have a photobooth, so guests can take a series of pictures as a favor and we can have a set. To my surprise person, I will get your gift out this weekend, but I promise you will have it before next Friday! I like the suspense! LOL
  3. Welcome to the forum! Jamaica is wonderful!

    Hi There!

Welcome! This is a great place to start your research!
  5. That's interesting. I'm an organ donor and have a DNR and living will for a long term situation, but I never thought about it interfering with medical care.
  6. Yeah, I feel much better now that I vented to my girls and know that I am not the only one who would be a little upset. Like I mentioned before, this isn't big enough to ruin a friendship, it just sucks.
  7. Welcome! I bet those invites were really cute!
  8. Welcome! Good luck and happy planning!

    Hi There!

Welcome! I was a Jamaica bride and loved it! Be sure to browse the Jamaica sub-forums and the wedding reviews for Rose Hall and Negril.
  10. Wow! I am sitting here in awe! I was frantically posting like 5 hours before I left! I am impressed with your organization skills! The wedding will be so beautiful! I can't wait for pictures. Have you already started your review? LOL
  11. I wasn't going to wear a bra or anything, (I'm a DD) but had some fitting issues at the last miunte. She let the top out too much and I had to stuff, so I got the stick on Chicken Cutlets. They stick to your chest and have a front closure, so you can decide how much lift or cleavage you want. I dyed my crinoline blue and had blue VS boy shorts. I wasn't going to wear a slip but the seamstress said it helps fill the skirt out so she wouldn't have to hem as much and, if it will be windy, keeps the dress from blowing between your legs. I think you can see all three in this super classy picture of me! http://www.dotphoto.com/GuestViewIma...ICT=808&IPP=60
  12. I don't have any sage words of wisdom. Sorry. I would suggest really thinking about the reality of the situation. If you invite the aunts, what is the chance they will come? What harm will be done to the relationships with the people you don't invite? Since marriage is supposed to be forever, you don't want to start if off pissed at his family. Sometimes you simply have to be the bigger person. Be prepared to get a lot of crap for having a DW in the first place. Unfortunately, you may have a few people drop out closer to the wedding so you numbers will even out. There will be so much going on while you are down there, I promise you won't notice 2 or 4 more people. My resort had enough activites I only saw some of my guests at the wedding and if I happened to bump into them at the pool. If you are concerned with the money, you need to tell FI's parent's now what you expect them to pay for so they can budget accordingly. If they can or want to help any of your other guests out, then that is their decision.
  13. Welcome! You can easily plan a wedding in a year, especially a DW. The airlines don't publish schedules until 9-10 months out, so you're doing fine!
  14. I think it took a few months. I'm nearing 3K and its been 8 or 9 months. I'll be able to tell for sure after this post... Congrats though, it feels like such a milestone!
  15. What a beautiful dress! It really accentuates your figure! Will you get it in white or ivory?

Welcome! We love reviews and pictures around here!

I tend to bend over backwards for my friends anyways, so it has been hard for me all along that she wasn't coming because if the situation were reversed, I would have been there for her in a second, and I am no where close to being as financially stable as they are. It also kinda makes me wonder if her husband has a problem with me or my husband. We all openly dislike our friend's FI (with the FL DW) but have told her we love and support her and her decisions. I think he is just the type that if it's not his idea, then forget it.

    Hi

    Welcome! Hawaii would be beautiful!
  19. Can you do an invite postcard that directs your guests to call or RSVP to your website? I know that in my group of friends we always stick invites on the fridge, which is good so we have a paper reminder. I did RSVP postcards, (that stupid people aren't sending in!) and we directed guests to our website for "additional information, accomodations, and pictures". I've had a surprising number of guests respond to the web-site. More in fact, that responded to the wedding invite or STD for Jamaica.
  20. There's a few, but most are from the week there. I was supposed to get the pro pics yesterday, but my photographer got stuck on a shoot in Cincinnati. I have stalked her today, voicemail, e-mail, text, etc. and still haven't heard back! I'm antsy to see them, but I also need to start sorting so I can get a slideshow together for our AHR!
  21. She told us after we had made the reservations and paid the deposit for the flights and room. Because we couldn't find another couple to fill the slots, we lost the deposit. As a bride it is irritating that they told the FL bride no, then changed to yes. At least they have time and less difficulty adding people since it is in the US. And you will appreciate this... Most of our friends turn 30 this year. (I'm the baby at 26) About 3 years ago we decided it would be great to take a trip for the 30th birthday year and about 12 of us would go. The friend was pushing for Tahiti. I just got an e-mail that said we missed our 30-year summer vacation, so we need to start planning for next summer for our group vacation!
  22. I wonder if Levi is a family name? I know the pictures sold for $3 million. Maybe they will explain it then...
  23. You could just keep them and see if anyone notices! Buy them a drink if they catch it! LOL
