  2. We just used the ones from the resort. We had the option to buy them but didn't. I didn't want to fool with transporting them. There are lots of places online where you can find them. I personally would have looked for a neat set that I would use again, not something overly bridal. If you plan to use them at the wedding, you probably need to by them instead of registering for them.

  4. Was it Betsy's wedding? http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t19429 She's the one that comes to mind when I think of black & pink.
  5. I'm sending the e-mail out to all of my guests now! What is a web-inar? I kinda get it from the title, but what exactly does it entail?
  6. Welcome! You'll love the forum. It is quite addictive!
  7. Wow Jennifer! That is an amaizing deal! I'll have to talk to DH and some friends who were thinking of going on another group vacation next year. Would we need to book thru you?
  8. Welcome! There is a TON of info on the ROR! Have fun searching the forum. Be sure to check out the Jamaica sub-forum and the Wedding Reviews for more info.
  9. We've never played at a restaurant. We get way to wild and loud. We also have smokers who take a long break between games. We played at a neighborhood bar once but got in trouble because we play for cash, which I guess is technically illegal gambling. Some of our ladies who live with roommates, have a small home, etc. Will often host at another girl's house. She'll come over and help clean the day before and provide the food, drinks, and decorations, then help clean up.
  10. It really is fun and a great way to meet new people. We have a core group of about 6-8 die-hard attendees, but each month the hostess will invite someone else, a family member, co-worker, a neighbor, etc. We will have people as subs who fill in when we need more players. When we first started there were about 6 people I barley new but were friends of friends. We've been playing every month for over 2 years. The game is easiest when palyed in groups of 4, but you can play with a "ghost" if you are short. If we are over (e.g. we have 9 or 13) we will "shadow" someone and rotate in and out. I think I have our rules typed somewhere that explains all of our crazy rules and traditions. It sounds complicated but it really isn't. The game is designed to be played with one hand while you are eating/drink/talking with the other. If you are interested PM me and I'll find it for you.
  11. Thanks Maura! I got a PM in the middle of the post and then it disappeared!
  12. My AHR is the 26th and I haven't picked out my cake yet. oops! The baker does have me in the books so that's not an issue, we've both been busy and out of town and just haven't caught up with each other yet. Should I relpicate my cake from Jamaica #1 This was the inspiration photo so since it will be bigger it will look more like this: Option #2 is a different cake, but I really like it Option #3 is to keep looking. I can't meet with the cake lady until next Tuesday, so I have some time. It all has to go with my blingy cake topper that is turquoise and clear crystals.
  13. My OB told me to start taking 4 Advil 3 times a day (the same as a prescription strength does) at least one day before you actually start. A "preimptive strike" if you will. You should also avoid caffeine and drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Those things didn't work for me and I ended up on Vicodin for cramps! LOL I'm probably a special case though, and my uterus hates me.
  14. Too Funny! I'm sending this to all of my friends with kiddos!
  15. Thanks Rebecca! That was the way to start my morning! Bacardi Breezers...that's funny enough itself!
  16. Spring Break Bunco got a little nuts this year. We all wore our favorite SB t-shirts (you know the air-brushed bad boys). The hostess had all drunk junk food...White Castles, Cheetos, etc. We were doing beer bongs off the back porch, which is interesting with a group of 30 year olds. She also covered all of the chairs with beach towels and had bras and bathing suits hanging from everything! It really took us back to '99!
  17. I got started playing with my mom. It's really just a way for girls to get together once a month and eat, drink, and socialize. The game is so easy you can multi task! Dh thinks it is some weird secret club!
  18. We play bunco once a month. There is a solid group of 10, so we are usually between 12 and 16. Once we had a group of 20 (5 tables). Each person hosts once a year, though we have had a few host more than once, or it will be at a previous location with that months hostess providing food, etc. We have gotten into themes recently, some coordinating with holidays (Feb = Valentines, March = St. Pattys) but in the summer we have lots of fun. May was Cinco de Bunco, June was fabulous 80's bunco. Since we have started the themes we give a prize for best costume if appropriate. Each person pays $10. Prizes are all cash and depend on the number playing. We instituted a new rule that you can only win once. If there is a tie there is a roll off. Highest number is always the winner except for most losses, in that case, lowest number wines. Our group is weird and I have never before played with Buncettes, If you get three of a kind, but not the number you are rolling for, you get 5 points. We also tally these on the score sheets. They are tracked individually, not as a team, and a prize is given for most buncettes. We also have a "monkey hat" that each person has to wear if they roll all ones. This will wipe out the team's score. (sometimes the monkey hat changes, depending on the theme, i.e. the monkey hat was an eye patch for Pirate Bunco.) So we play from 2 to 6. We have an official bunco kit that gets passed from hostess to hostess that includes a disposable camera so we can take a picture of the group and it goes into an album. We're a little crazy but it's SO much fun!!! The favorites so far are St. Patty's, Spring Break, and Pajama Party Bunco. We have lots of other ideas. PM me if you want more details.
  19. Welcome! It's never too early to start planning!
  20. Welcome! Why are you a reluctant beach bride?

    hola chicas!

    Welcome! BDW is the best!
  23. It does look like a high quality product. I bet your bouquet will be beautiful! Don't forget to post pictures!
  24. I think it's a great idea and it will save some of the bridal party money since they are travelling. If you are concerned, talk to the sister if you are close. If you aren't close I don't think it matters. Tell her she had great taste and you hope she is excited to share her find with you. I think if you put a positive spin on it will be fine. I personally wouldn't mention the saving money aspect, because I wouldn't want anyone to feel like we were using "leftovers".
  25. Welcome! I chose aqua and turquoise to compliment the ocean colors and it was beautiful! I'd say go for those two with Apple or Lime accents, but I'm a little biased!
