Morgan! You are far surpassing me as a June 21 bride!!! I still need to post my review and pictures! I have no idea where you find the time. On a side note, be happy you are having a casual AHR. Mine has turned into a BFW as Abbie would say. You photos are stunning and I won't ever get tired of looking at them. I love the underwater TTD! Kristie - great job! I like the use of the quotes and lyrics. I might have to steal that idea!

Welcome Mindy! This place is great!

There's usually 2 weeks for a sign up and about a month to buy, ship, and receive gifts. There is a $25 maximum on the gift. Just keeps looking for another exchange thread. The next holiday I can think of is Halloween, so we might have to make something up before then.

I'm glad it's good. DH and I have to find something to do Monday while our housekeeper is here. I'm up for a good movie in air conditioning. He wants to go sit at the ball park and watch other teams in his league play. Ummm, it's still 96 degrees at 8 pm here. I'm going with no.

Welcome! Let us know if we can help with any last minute plans. I'm sure some of our other cruise brides would appreciate any advice you'd like to share with them.

I agree Alyssa - the yellow dress looked very well made. Who got voted off? I got distracted last night and didn't see the end. Of course the great thing about Bravo is that the show will be on about 49 more times before the new one comes out. I honestly don't know what nights shows actually air because of my DVR! I heart it!

how do i do the dress shopping thing?
ErinB replied to yamille's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
The people I worked with were very respectful of privacy. I was the one running around half naked. I was going to have my mom help me but it was nice for her to get to sit outside and oooh when I came out of the dressing room. Also, I was afraid of something breaking, not fitting, etc. The assistant can be al little rougher with the gowns, they know how to lace a corset and fasten buttons, and they but them back on the hangers for you! One other tip... If you go to a store that doesn't sell shoes, be sure to take a pair of average height heels with you (if you plan to wear them). You will walk differently in heels, and how the dress moves with your body is a big thing! Oh and another tip... Don't worry about looking like a goofball. Bend, sit, dance, raise your arms, etc. These are all natural actions that you will do on your wedding day in your dress, so you need to be sure you can do them! -

I would say... 1) Keep your options open. You may think you know what you want, but don't let that stop you from trying something new. 2) Before you go, set a budget. If you only want to spend $1000, don't make an appointment at Vera Wang 3) I'd say shop over a few days. Don't try on 20 dresses at one sitting. It is hard work getting in and out of those things! After a while they kinda all start to look the same, especially if you do find a style you like. You won't notice different lace patterns or the difference in a French Bustle. 4) Be sure you wear nice undergraments and shave your legs! LOL Hot pink boy shorts might show through some gowns. 5) Be prepared to order a bigger size than what you normally wear. THis doesn't mean you are fat, the designers are stupid. My dress was 3 sizes larger than my street clothes. 6) If you do find a dress, be careful about being "upsold" on accessories. There are lots of places to find veils, shoes, headpieces, etc. at a fraction of the cost most boutiques charge. I personally wouldn't want to do business with a company that wouldn't give you a discount on additional items if you don't purchase on the same day. I bought a garter for the AHR, even after my wedding, and I still got my 10% discount! -
Congrats and Welcome! Do a search for Florida. I know we have had some brides from the Keys.

Welcome Roselle! You'll find lots of helpful info here. Not to be negative, but be prepared for some of your guests not to come, for whatever reason. It is something we have all been through! Just focus on finding the best place for you and your fiance. Congrats and happy planning.

IYO- where is best spot to have pictures printed?
ErinB replied to Jacqueline's topic in Random Thoughts
Sam's has a very good photo center. You can upload the pics and pick them up 2 days later. It's like film service used to be. They are very high quality and the price is great. I have some personal moral objections to Sam's and Walmart so I really try not to shop there. I've had good luck at Target at the little Kodak machine that you control. I usually order direct from Kodakgallery.com or dotphoto.com I don't know if that helps at all LOL -

I thought we instituted a new rule that if we had an issue, we still had to contact you on Wednesday to let you know one way or another? Would that be too much for your inbox to handle? You've been so generous with your time and engery doing this for us, especially with Gwen being here now, that I think we should do whatever works best for you! You shouldn't ahve to track 30 people down! -

With the AHR coming up, heavy cleaning is going to have to be my cardio. I also usually have to drink heavily when around DH's family so we'll see how I hold up! LOL Tonight when I get home I have to try my dress on again. I hadn't gained as much as I thought I would have, only about 5 pounds. I did great for breakfast and lunch yesterday. I had salmon, broccoli and a little rice for dinner. I did crack and ate some onion rings as an appetizer. Ooops! -
That's a loaded question! LOL I think a lot depends on where you are located and what your expectations are. The Pacific coast of Mexico will probably more expensive than Jamaica if you fly from DC. Pools at the resorts in MX tend to be a lot larger, but the Caribbean beaches have the white sand. It was easier and cheaper for us to have a legal marriage in JA than it would have been in MX, I'm assuming because of the language difference and necessary translation. You might also look at flight times. We were in JA in about 4 hours total, for both flights. I bet from DC you coud get a direct flight. This is TOTALLY my personal thought, but one reason we chose Jamaica was because I always think of Mexico as being "spring break-y". I know that there are lots of beautiful resorts and it isn't like that, but my brain wasn't convinced. Now, I think we will definitely make some trips to various resorts, especially since I have seen so many great photos.

I LOVE Jib-Jab. The ones for the 00 & 04 elections were great! Their web-site used to sell t-shirts that said "I"m a liberal weiner" and "I'm a right wing nut-job" Be sure to check out the "Classics", This Land, Second Term, It's good to be in DC.

Cute and Sexy for after party??
ErinB replied to meghanmbm's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I would try Jessica McClintock Inc :: Home Page Affair bridesmaid dresses and cocktail dresses from Mori Lee Evening - Dresses - Women's - Macy's Women | Dresses & Special Occasion | White at Dillards.com Dillards has shop by color, which is great! If you find any short bridesmaids dress, you can possibly find it in white. It is a lot easier to customize the color. -
That is one of the joys of owning pets! How old is your puppy? When ours was a baby he would eat the legs of furniture. We lived in a house with 4 other football players and every single one of them collapsed a chair at some point becaue Harley had eated all of the cross sung/supports and the legs.

Is it bad luck to tell anyone that youre pregnant....
ErinB replied to BarefootBride's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
Wow! Congratulations! Your hubby will be SO excited! I love the idea of telling him on his birthday. I think you should wrap up a bib or onesie or something that says "I love daddy" and have him open his birthday gift! In my head that is how I want to tell my husband when I get pregnant. I was really sick last night with all kinds of tummy trouble. He looked at me with this lopsided grin and said "are you pregnant?!?" NO I'M NOT! Lizz--Congrats to you and Mike too! I had no idea! Did you forget to post? -

Good Luck Ladies! So far so good today. Well, other than the weigh in. I did great with breakfast and lunch but I ALWAYS fall down at dinner! I just need to get off to a good start and not reward myself with truffles. -

Luckily we had a stateside planner through the resort that handled all of that so I only called once. You might also check with your cell phone compnay and see what their international rate is. You just dial like you normally would, 1 + area code + number.

Great gifts ladies! Andrea - I'm so glad you liked it! For some stupid reason I get major gift giving anxiety because I always want something creative, thoughtful, etc. and I know how it feels to get a cheesy present. LOL I even recruited Cathrine as my spy! **EDIT** I have never gotten a bad BDW present! I just realized how thsat sounded. I was thinking of the precious moments figureines, the teddy bear ceramic tea pot, the christmas gift that was a luau kit with cocnut bra and grass skirt...
