  1. This is the best forum ever! and highly addictive! Welcome and Happy Planning!
  2. Great contest Tammy! I want to play photographer but have a sucky camera!
  3. I told our guests to plan $1500 - $2000 total per person while we were searching for a resort. A lot will depend on the current airfare and how your guests will book. Are you going with a TA and a group rate or having guests book their own trips however they choose? Unfortunately, since your wedding is more than 10 months out, you won't be able to get accurate pricing. I wanted to have our guests plan on the high end and not have to come up with more money there at the end.
  4. Dear Husband's Family, I have tried everything to be nice to you people. You all seem to like me. It has been 6 years and I haven't gone away. Of course, when someone comes to visit you and bends over backward and asks for nothing in return, there really is no reason to be mean. The one time we ask you for something, to come to our wedding or our AHR, NONE of you show up. Not ONE! You didn't RSVP to either event. Had I known you would completely ignore us, I could have saved quite a bit of money on the invitations and postage. Since you didn't bother to send a card, much less a gift, we are really in the hole. Not to worry, I'll be sending your bills out soon. We will accept cash or check, even credit cards. I could care less about the monetary value. The issue is that you don't support your family (my husband), haven't welcomed me into your family, or even acknowledged that something major has taken place in our lives. Next time you ask us to attend an event or move back to Kansas, I will politely smile and tell you to F-off. I will not be apart of nor raise my children around the attitude of "if it's not convient for me, I can't be bothered with it." Oh and BIL & SIL...You call $40 a gift? Seriously? You got married 3 weeks before us, on purpose, and caused a big stink within the family because of it. You were the Best Man! Togeher you and your wife make over twice what we do. Have you never been in a wedding? I gave your wife a $75 shower gift, that she scheduled on THE SAME DAY AS MINE! I have tried to welcome her into your whacked out family! Your wedding gift was $150, because your brother, my husband, was a bridal party member! Please forgive me for not feeling satisfied with the $15 toaster from the shower and the 2 $20 bills. Oh, and the spoons, how could I forget the obviously re-gifted spoons? Three kitchen spoons, all different colors, different bands, and not on my registry was kind of a tip off. I'm so glad that I don't have to see any of you again until Thanksgiving. I'll be able to cool off by then.

Welcome! I was a Jamaica bride, so I'm a little biased. You'll find lots of info here to help you make a decision. Oh, and Erins are Awesome!
  6. I sent out 125 STDs. We ended up with 30 booked guests. Most of our guests weren't in a major city (Chicago, Miami, NY, etc) so flights were more expensive. You will LOVE CSA!!! That's where I got married last month. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
  7. I LOVE those pictures! Dogs are just so funny! I don't know how people don't have pets...
  8. I think those are very tropical. The pots look nice too. Will you have any candles on the tables?

Welcome to the forum! You will love it!
  12. I love mine! As Rebecca said, the darker, the more expensive. Mine weren't very, so they are a bluish-purple gray. ANd they are small 4 or 5 mm I think. I used to wear them all of the time when I had an office job. I was actually going to give them to my girls as a gift, but didn't like them with the Aqua dresses.
  13. The pictures are fantastic! Who was your photographer? You looked beautiful and I LOVED your hair!
  14. It has been BAD!!! I haven't really started yet. The AHR was this weekend and we were surrounded by family. I was drunk a lot. I was so hot at the AHR I only ate once and had 2 drinks. I was trying not to pass out. Satin isn't breathable, especially when you are running around and hugging 150 people. We did our budget last night to see what we can afford to offer on a house. Looks like we won't have money for food, so maybe things will start looking better on the scale!
  15. Here it is! Falling in love is like owning a dog Printable Version Falling in love is like owning a dog an epithalamion by Taylor Mali Taylor Mali First of all, it's a big responsibility, especially in a city like New York. So think long and hard before deciding on love. On the other hand, love gives you a sense of security: when you're walking down the street late at night and you have a leash on love ain't no one going to mess with you. Because crooks and muggers think love is unpredictable. Who knows what love could do in its own defense? On cold winter nights, love is warm. It lies between you and lives and breathes and makes funny noises. Love wakes you up all hours of the night with its needs. It needs to be fed so it will grow and stay healthy. Love doesn't like being left alone for long. But come home and love is always happy to see you. It may break a few things accidentally in its passion for life, but you can never be mad at love for long. Is love good all the time? No! No! Love can be bad. Bad, love, bad! Very bad love. Love makes messes. Love leaves you little surprises here and there. Love needs lots of cleaning up after. Sometimes you just want to get love fixed. Sometimes you want to roll up a piece of newspaper and swat love on the nose, not so much to cause pain, just to let love know Don't you ever do that again! Sometimes love just wants to go for a nice long walk. Because love loves exercise. It runs you around the block and leaves you panting. It pulls you in several different directions at once, or winds around and around you until you're all wound up and can't move. But love makes you meet people wherever you go. People who have nothing in common but love stop and talk to each other on the street. Throw things away and love will bring them back, again, and again, and again. But most of all, love needs love, lots of it. And in return, love loves you and never stops.
