  1. Welcome! It's a process to plan a wedding and the talented ladies here will be more than happy to help! Congrats, good luck, and happy planning!
  2. I had a ball at Home Depot last night. I think it is going to become my new favorite store! However, I have this little problem with champagne taste...I hated all of the 24.99 fixtures, I wanted the 249.99 fixtures. The house was at the top of our budget, so we don't have too much to spend right now on fixing up. I would much rather hire someone to come in and do it all! Especially before we move. The first DIY will be that stupid red fireplace! It is awful!
  3. I'm trying to get the flooring guys in soon to give us a quote. I agree and would much rather have the floors and anythign else done before we move in. The closets are all cedar lined. The bonus room has a hanging bar, but the area is about 8'x6'! Plus the second walk-in! In the future it will be a kid's playroom so I can hide all of the toy crap!
  4. Thanks for the detailed review. I'm sure it will be a big help to future brides. You looked beautiful and I can't believe you went and climbed ruins at 6 months pregnant! I can't wait to see pro pics. The one of Jay kissing the belly made me get all teary! Congrats again!
  5. I was not a ROR bride, but a Jamaica bride. It did rain on my wedding day. It only lasted about 10 minutes. I got married at 4:00 pm. It does tend to rain later in the afternoon. We only had rain 2 maybe 3 days of our 8 day drip, and it was always 15 minutes or less. Our ceremony was only about 12 minutes, so we had plenty of time. The reason I chose 4, even knowing the chances of rain, was because it was the last wedding of the day. Most brides had at least 30-45 minutes of "wiggle room". Usually, the earlier in the day you get married, the less chance of rain. The showers seem to be between 2-6, as the sun goes down and it cools off.
  6. Welcome back married lady! Nathaniel was nice enough to post your teasers pics here 2 days after your wedding! He really does take care of BDW! You looked amazing! I can't wait to see more!

  8. I did mine 2 days before the wedding. I had a second dress so it was no problem. My TTD was informal. I went in teh pool first, then the ocean. To clean, I put the dress in the shower with me and hosed it down. I simply hung it outside on out balcony to dry. It was completely dry the next morning. I even wore the dress again after our ceremony at the reception there and jumped into the pool again. It was nice to have it out of the way. We left 2 days after the wedding and I didn't have to get up early or even leave the room the next day. I like being able to relax and not have to follow a schedule. My TTD was much cleaner than my real dress. It was a mess! I couldn't believe it. I only had it on for about 5 hours!

    hello!

Welcome to the forum! I love Tybee Island off the coast of Savannah.
  11. Welcome! This is the place to be for DW planning. I just got married in Jamaica and loved it, so I'm a little biased. I adore Savannah! My mom used to live on Tybee.
  12. WOW! Alyssa your wedding is going to be amazing! I want to go and crash! I just can't believe your time is already here! Almost everyone who was a B2B with me is a Mrs now!
  13. I did the home inspection today. Nothing major was wrong so hopefully we can get it all fixed soon. They painted all of the windows shut so those need to be opened, the toilet needs to be bolted back down to the floor on one side, a light switch doesn't work. That was pretty much it. I know you like pictures, so here you go! Kodakgallery.com*Browse Photos It is move in ready, but there are several things we want to do to personalize the space like replace all of the bathroom lighting, paint, re-tile the kitchen, re-do the fireplace. Then we have a whole other list for long term projects like rip up the carpet and re-finish the hardwood, get new carpet for the bedrooms, build a garage and deck, possibly add on to the upstairs, etc.
  14. Welcome! You'll find all kinds of info on the Dreams resorts. Start by searching the forum and /or browsing the DR threads and wedding reviews.
  15. I LOVE that show. I used to watch MXC, the Japanese version all the time!
  16. You should be able to get a white bridesmaids dress and dye it. They don't tend to have as many layers and are less expensive.

  21. You would probaly find info in the Groom/Gm Attire Sticky. My dad wore the same suit as the boys, with a different colored shirt. DH wore a white shirt, GMs had Aqua, and the dads had different shades of blue.
  22. ok, You need to have a large crock pot to do this one, probably 4+ quarts. As a general rule, you always want to have the post filled at least 1/2 way, but no more than 3/4 of the way to ensure proper cooking. This recipe is SOOOO easy and so versatile! My aunt used to make it when I was a kid. Crock Pot Chicken -N- Dumplins 4 Bonesless, Skinless Chicken Breasts (approx 2 lbs) 1 Can Condensed Cream of Chicken Soup 1 Can Condensed Cream of Celery Soup *The low-fat versions work well too. You can also use Cream of Mushroom. 1/4 Cup Diced Onion 2/3 Cup Frozen Peas 2/3 Cup Diced Carrots 1 Can Low Sodium Chicken Broth 1 tsp. coarse ground pepper 1 Tbsp chopped Parsley 2 Cans (10 oz) Refridgerated Biscuit Dough DO NOT USE GRANDS 1.) Cut chicken into large chunks 2.) Combine all ingredients in Crock Pot, EXCEPT biscuits 3.) Cook on low for 6-7 hrs. About 1 hour before serving, tear or cut the biscuts into 1-2 inch chunks. Add to the crock pot, stirring gently so the dough doesn't stick together. Turn the crock pot up to high and cook 45-60 minutes, stirring occasionally. You can serve with mashed potatoes and have Carb Fest 2008! The chicken gravy stuff is great with potatoes. I've also made this a vegetarian dish by using vegetable stock and adding more veggies.
