  1. I spent the night with my BMs. 3 of us we snuggled into a King size bed. It was actually a lot of fun hanging out with them - kinda like a slumber party. DH was adament about not seeing each other until the ceremony, so we made sure to call around before going anywhere. It was actually pretty funny!
  2. Just remind him it can get windy on the beach. He might want to wear something under it!
  3. oh, rachel, the only way that story could be worse was if you had been wearing a skirt! with no panties!
  4. I had 2 dresses. My TTD was SOOOO much cleaner than my ceremony dress! I think if it is relatively simple, without a lot of places for sand to get stuck, it should be fine. Also, just because you get your gown cleaned, doesn't mean you have to have it preserved, which is an extra fee. I just had mine cleaned this week, nearly 2 months after the wedding and it came out fine.
  5. Glad you're back. You'll get used to the flshing things! LOL I signed on one morning and it too me by surprise too!
  6. Great location! I had a friend get married on SSI, though not there. Here are her photos: "+title+" OK, for some reason the link won't take you to her page. It's the 2007 issue, page 34 "Vows with a View"

    hello!

All of the details are here: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t11197 You earn points by participating in the forum - reading posting, etc. You will need points to open documents, buy gifts, etc.
  8. I honestly was a little disappoionted in our gifts. We had a lot of people, including family, not even give us a card! I was excited that we got all 12 sets of our silver. It was the only thing on our registry that was completed. BB&B has some great Royal Velvet towels that I would have liked to have gotten. I also wanted our plates. Most of what I registered for was not really stuff we needed, but mainly stuff that we would not buy ourselves.
  9. I've seen pictures somewhere. The Knot maybe? I love kilts, but would be worried about them being hot. I found these companies online. Kilt Rental Kilt Rental specialists in USA I just searched for kilt rental. Depending on how long you will be gone, you might have to pay more. We would have had to pay double rental for being gone a week. It actually turned out cheaper to buy suits. If your FI will need a kilt in the furture, he might want to go ahead and purcahse one.
  10. Happy Birthday Abbie! I hope it is great and that Doug does something special for you. In my house that would be vacuuming! LOL
  11. Those are the same dresses I used! We had them in Tiffany and our boys wore aqua colored shirts that matched with silk khaki suits.
  12. There is a sticky in the wedding attire section on GM wear. There have been lots of different color combos and lots of pictures. Try browsing there first. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1058 You should also check here for how to post photos. Everytime a member has to open a document/attachment it will cost them 50 points. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t16832
  13. There is a list for all brides, regardless of destination. Some members have started threads for their specific resorts, i.e. Dreams, ROR, etc. The BDW calendar is located under Quick Links on the right hand side. This shows everything going on (that members input) like weddings, honeymoons, birthdays, baby due dates, etc.
  14. I'm so sorry you are going through this. I don't know if it will make you feel any better, but I think all of us have had these thoughts before. Wedding planning is tough, no matter how elaborate the wedding is! I say step one is to take a deep breath. It's a Friday, so grab a cocktail after work. Have you addressed these issues with your FI? He might need to suggest to his mother that she back off a bit. As long as the situation is addressed, and in an non-confontational manner, I don't see what the problem would be. Tell her you appreciate her help and enthusiasim, but you need her to run things past you first before she makes any decisions, etc. It might hurt her feelings now, but you don't want to start off your new life together with feelings of resentment for his family (trust me!) It will be better than completely losing it and screaming at her over the Thanksgiving dinner table. Go on and mail the STDs. You will find that a lot of people will say they are coming and then don't. This is a whole different kind of stress. You just can't let yourself get worked up over hypothetical situations. As far as who takes care of your son, you need to give each mom a schedule that you feel is fair. Good luck! You're always free to vent here!

When they had the balls to throw at each other when they had to jump over that spinner thing, and none of them really understood it. I think one woman threw one ball at someone when they were jumping and that was it. Then that other person threw both balls one right after the other and hit that other guy in the head and then the face! LOL Have you ever noticed that on every episode of MXC someone is named Babaganoush? The fake announcers are hysterical, but I feel bad. You know some of those people really do get hurt! At least on WipeOut they give them some kind of protective gear!
  17. Rachel - I never use my MySpace at all! I am so glad I don't have any videos of me falling! I don't know if I am really that clumsy or just un-lucky. Everything bad that had ever happened to me hasn't been my fault really. Probably the funniest was of me in the kitchen. We had this awkward size step, much bigger than a normal step that led to back storage. The wall between the two rooms was probably 2-3 ft. Well, i slipped, but couldn't seem to actually fall down the step! I had my hands full and I just bounced back and forth between the walls like a pin-ball until I finally managed to go down...It was not pretty. I bruise really easy (of course) so both of my arms we all black and blue and so was my ass. I tend to get hit in the head a lot. Stuff will fall on me, I'll run into it, be leaning down and raise up and bang my head. I was painting our bathroom a few years ago and Mike cam in and looked all around but didn't say anything. I asked him what he was doing . His response "Looking to see what can fall on your head" Jackass!
  18. Are they comfy? That is always my biggest concern. LOL If you were able to make it through the night at your friend s wedding, I say go for it!
  19. I love those! Shower dresses were a ton of fun! I hate that I don't have an excuse to go shopping anymore.
  20. I'm pretty sure you can get orchids that dark. I know you can get the black magic roses that are super dark. I would call the florist ASAP. Sometimes it takes 2 weeks or more to special order flowers, and you are getting close missy! She/he might also be able to offer some suggestions. I think you would still be ok with red. I don't know about the pinks with the burgundy. If BDW has taught you nothing else, it is that you go for what you want!
  21. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do for an ice burn. Keep in moisturized yet dry (does that make sense?) I burned the crap out of my arm in a walk-in freezer. I don't remember the details, but I was just wearing a t-shirt and my hands/arms were wet. I must have just washed them. Anyway, somehow my arm touched a wire shelf and got stuck. It looked worse and felt worse than an oven burn!
