Tomorrow is the big day! We close at noon! I can't believe this whole thing has gone down in 12 days! We are doing our final walk-through tonight. I'm taking the tape measure so I can start shopping. Hopefully I can talk DH into going to Home Depot and buying paint tonight so I can get started tomorrow! LOL

Hydrangeas are blue and would look good in a square vase. I don't know about availability where you will be though...These do come in the real-touch silk if you wanted to make them and take them with you. I think this would look good with a brown satin ribbon around the vase or some brown curly willow for dimension: I LOVE this look with just flower petals! You could use colored glass vases and candles and/or stones/marbles to accent the petals.

I still don't know if MIke knows when or where we got married! Details aren't his thing either. Bless his heart, he would try when people would ask questions. Of course he would combine the 3 details he knew about each property and kinda create a new (non-existant) one, but it's the thought that counts! My favorite was after the wedding, someone asked about the trip and his response, "It was nice, but there were too many people and too much to do! We had all kinds of stuff to take care of with the wedding and take care of the guests..." Can I please tell you he did NOTHING with the planning here or in Jamaica! I really want to know what he thinks he did other than show up to the altar!

do i need a different TTD dress???
ErinB replied to Michelle's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
You don't have to do a second dress. I did because I wanted to do my shoot before my wedding, my dress was really heavy and I can't imagine it full of water/sand, and because my DH wasn't ready for me to sell. You can find a local photographer or go ahead and ask if the resort will take the photos. The cost for your photog really depends on who it is and how long they stay. I lucked out and booked one who hadn't done a Caribbean wedding before so she did it for the cost of the trip so she could build her portfolio. You'll have to find a photog based outside of the US as we can't go to Cuba. Abbie had a friend take her TTD photos and I think they are great! -
Our mods are AWESOME! We *heart* them! You are correct, they work really hard to make sure the forum is a nice place to be and that it stays organized.

Diva Cup / Instead Cup - tampon / pad alternative
ErinB replied to boscobel's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Some of my friends make fun of me because I have this huge fear of TSS. I know it is a rare condition, but it freaks me out. I won't even sleep in a tampon. -
Postcard Standards: Minimum Allowable Postcard Size: 3.5 x 5 Inches If the width is less than 5 inches or the height is less than 3.5 inches the USPS will NOT mail your postcard. Diva Cup / Instead Cup - tampon / pad alternative
ErinB replied to boscobel's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Wow! I just read this entire thread! It's been a productive morning, LOL. I'd heard of the Diva Cup and these reusable cloth pads before. I am on crazy medication right now, so I haven't had a period in 2 years! I will have to stop using this soon, so there isn't permanent damage, and I am not looking forward to starting again. My periods were always unpredictable, so who knows what the hell will happen now. -
Welcome! Are you looking for an All-Inclusive or no? Is the 5K what you want to spend for the wedding and reception, or does that have to include travel?
-
Wow! I'm speechless! I agree that you should report him to the medical boards and the insurance company. It might not be illegal, but it is un-professional. I have no problem with those that own a faith based business, unless they don't advertise it as such. He needs to label his practice as a "married christian" office. You should have told him you were pagan or something and watched his head explode.

I found my shoes... Yeah

Those are great! -
Welcome! I was recently married in Negril, Jamaica at Couples Swept Away. It was wonderful and very affordable. We stuck with the free package and only added on some flowers for about $250. It is an adult only property but the Riu are nice family properties. We have several travel agents on the forum. I would find one on the banner at the top and contact them for more info. Congrats and Happy Planning!

I wish I had pictures! I went up to the DJ booth to make sure he could embarass our B2B. That kinda backfired. The booth is up these steep wooden stairs that someone just threw together with no light or hand rail. I made it to the lat two then managed some tuck and roll type thing. There is a row of banquet seating against the wall facing the stairs. I popped up like Molly Shannon, (may have even saluted the judges) and told the people who were sitting there that they didn't just see that. I think my exact words were, "iss h'ok. I broke mysef but shhhhh! youdinnaseemeeeee!" I had a few more shots to dull the pain. It worked.

LC_Rachel you would be so proud! This Saturday was a friend's bachelorette party. We had a great time but I got HAMMERED drunk! Several bottles of wine at dinner then shots an vodka tonics at the bar, I totally wiped out! My knee is about the size of a softball and still bright red. I have a feeling it is going to turn into one of those ugly yellow/purple/green bruises here really soon. I'll have to take a pic a show you. I felt like such an idiot! To top it off, we had a 4' blow up penis with us that we made people sign. It was kinda hard not to notice our group as it was. I was so drunk I even took my shoes off as we were leaving the bar and walked down the street and got into the cab barefoot. I'm not a germaphobe, but YUCK! Yesterday I was so hung over I thought I might die. And I had to work... I am to old for this shit! I think I'm down to one party a year and that was it!

OMG... this is so evil, but it may work! <last resort lol You can do this but you need to make sure mom and friend get the original invite. Frist off, how many invites are we talking? Since it's just a shower, I honestly don't think it would be a huge deal. You don't want to insult anyone, especially since she probably feels like she did a really good thing for you. Your BP will know you hate them and most people should recognize they weren't your taste. At the shower, you stand up and offer a toast or whatever to your guests to thank them for coming and a special thank you to mom's friend for making the invites as her gift to you. This should clarify the situation. I had a shower and the invites and decor weren't what I would have done, but I know the hostess worked really hard and I wouldn't dream of hurting her feelings by telling her so. She is really sensitive and this would not have gone over well.

Rachel - I'm sorry you are going through this, but you sould like you are doing well. My only piece of advice, that may already have been offered, is to give yourself time to heal. Be sure to do something just for you! The right guy is out there, he just needs to find you! Good luck!

Do you send AHR STD or just AHR invites?
ErinB replied to adias.angel's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I did boarding pass STDs and the last page was about my AHR. I sent these out to all of my guests, those I knew were attending the wedding and those that couldn't travel. Your AHR invites need to go our 6-8 weeks before the event. Since ours went out before the wedding the wording was: Erin and Mike will be married in JA on June 21. Please join us in celebration upon our return July 26. -
Welcome to the forum! have you chosen a resort yet?
-
Do you have a picture? Having one (or a link to the website) usually helps things sell better. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t16832

I told DH I wasn't wearing a necklace. You can say the neckline is detailed and you don't want to take away from it. Just be vague. DH isn't one for fashion so I could probably described my dress in complete detail and he would have had no clue! LOL He might have understood chiffon, but would have been lost at rouching.
