Just an FYI - New Moon is out on DVD March 30th! Eclipse will be released in theaters June 30th. This is weird because it's a Wednesday so I don't know if they will stick to that date or what. I haven't seen an official trailer yet.

I don't have cool collections I do collect Fleur de Lis things but only if they are really unique. I don't like clutter (though I have a tons of it) so I think that is my aversion to collecting. I also fear things being "over-designed". I don't want to walk in to a house full of fleur-de-lis wallpaper, curtains, art, knick-knacks, KWIM? They are kinda trendy right now so I want to be sure I have something special. My grandmother collected salt & pepper shakers. I inherited all of them, so I guess that is something I could continue...

I think it is your wedding and you need to do what you want. That is a hard lesson to learn when planning - no matter what, you can't make everyone happy. If money is a big concern, then a wedding at an all inclusive resort is the way to go. It will definitely be cheaper than a wedding at home. Since you are planning a party at home afterwards, your FI's sister can participate in that. The nature of a DW will limit your number of guests so then you get your small, intimate ceremony.

Do you have an inspiration pic you could share? I don't think it would necessarily look bad, but it might be tricky to keep them over lapped where you want them. You might have to sew them together. As for the two chair sashes are you going to overlap them? Most organza is pretty sheer so you might end up with more of a teal shade, KWIM?

Check with your resort first. Some have very strict policies on tipping; an employee can be fired on the spot if they are seen taking a tip at some. If you choose to offer gifts, be sure to include a note so there is no question. If the tip is included, ask how it will be split. If you have any events off property (golf, taxis, etc) be sure you have cash to tip.

I LOVE when this thread gets bumped! I heart all of the puppies! Amanda - my chocolates do the same exact pose. They also do the full stretch out on the couch, LOL. Luckily we have never had to board them because it would be costly. I don't know how much we spend on them per month. It's a lot because they are our spoiled little children. I know I have spent at least $500 on "indestructable" toys for Izzy, my baby girl, because she eats everything. The other night DH accidently clipped her nail too short and it bled a little. He went to the pet store the next day and came home with new toys and chewies for both of them because he felt bad! LOL

I don't think you are off-base in that you want one central, experienced person with whom to work. I would end this relationship now if this is any indication as to how she will handle things during the rest of your planning. Have you put down any deposits? I would look for an experienced DW travel agent. That person does not have to be local to you - so much can be done over the phone and with e-mail. Planning a DW entails so much more than just a regular trip. I went through my local TA and after reading about other experiences on BDW I found out that my planning could have been a lot less stressful had I had a TA that specialized in DWs. We have great TAs that are members of the forum! I would book through one of them.

Please post pics. Maybe they are fixable? Is the whole bouquet the mums or just a few flowers? Do you only have a problem with the BM bouquets or do you not like any of the flowers?

I would pick up the tab for whomever chooses to order the lobster. Make arrangements ahead of time that you will pay the bill so there is no confusion or awkwardness if your guests were presented with a bill. Think of it this way... If you offer bar service, you still pay for those who don't drink or don't drink as much as others. My mom doesn't eat shellfish and some of my close friends are allergic. If we go out to eat or host a party with a seafood dish, they choose not to eat it. They don't come to me after the party and say "Hey I want $3 cash because I skipped the shrimp". I mean this in the nicest possible way - Don't over-think things. It was a hard lesson for me to learn while planning! Good Luck!

That was my first thought too when I saw the news! I'm glad no one was badly injured. It certainly could have been much worse. I hope we didn't have any BDW brides aboard!
