  1. Dammit Alyssa! Now I want junk food! My top 5 are: 1) Chips & Queso 2) Lindt Dark Chocolate (especially the intense orange bars) 3) Cheetos 4) Cheese Fries 5) Hot Wings with Celery and Blue Cheese Wow, notice a theme? I heart cheese!
  2. I haven't been to either location, but you do need to keep in mind that ANY review is going to be totally subjective. People tend to be more vocal about negatives than they are about positives. I would suggest doing a search for those resorts or simply browse the Dominican Repubic sub-forums to read what past and present brides have found. Good luck!
  3. Congrats on the weight loss! I would go ahead and start shopping now, just to see what is out there and what you like. My dress took 4 months to come in. I was trying to lose weight and just hadn't found "the one" and it was the end of January before I actually ordered one. I came in early May (2 weeks ahead of schedule) but I still had to pay extra for rush alterations. Be prepared when you start shopping that wedding dresses typically run 2-3 sizes small. Don't let that discourage your or diminish all of the hard work you've done so far. I'm a 10-12 and my dress was a 16 that had to be cut down.
  4. Mrs - Becks - cause she loves ferrets B2B - Danielle (DanielleNDerek) - cause this is the last time she can be nominated in this category!
  5. Michelle, everything looks wonderful. I love your dess!
  6. I agree with Amanda, wait to send the AHR invites. Because there are so many weddings in the summer, you might want to go ahead and send them out 6-8 weeks in advance, like you would for a "normal" wedding, so people have enough time to plan.
  7. I know that Yari had the same BM dresses. You might PM her to see what size her girls were.
  8. I'm not a doctor, but you might want to post your question if you feel comfortable. Lots of us have had lots of issues and might be able to give you some advice.
  9. I'm a fan of Jane Green novels. They are light and fluffy British Chick-Lit, kinda steamy but not too sexy. I'd like to start reading the Southern Vampire series that was the inspiration for Ture Blood on HBO.
  10. Thanks for the review. I did not have a very good experience trying to plan my wedding with Sandals, but we are thinking of trying it for a vacation. I'd love to see pictures!
  11. I second the Vitamin E suggestion. There is also this stuff called Strivectin D that you can get at GNC or some department stores. It was formulated to get rid of stretchmarks, so a lot of body builders use it. Recently it has been discovered to do wonders for wrinkles so the price has jumped. It's about $100 per bottle but it does work quickly!
  12. There are lots of internet sources for wedding ettiquette. Try Google, Emily Post, The Knot, or About.com The TTD is a new thing. It is done more at beach weddings, though I have seen others. Visit Trash The Dress The idea behind it is that you have made a lifelong comittment, will no longer need your dress, so turn it into art. Rehersal dinners are usually hosted by the groom's parents and it is a chance to celebrate with family and the bridal party and present them with gifts. You do this after you practice the ceremony. Most people give favors to guests at a wedding. In Jamaica at my wedding, we gave everyone Welcome bags (OOT Bags) only. For the reception back home, we just made a donation to a local animal charity.
  13. That is so exciting! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! If you get it would you have to move before the wedding?
  14. I was married at CSA in June and it was wonderful. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. You will be fine to go in April/May, it's just not as busy that time of year, which might be nice. The cheapest times to go are late Aug - Nov because it is hurricane season.
  15. That is too cool! I totally would have invited them to the wedding!
  16. Yay! Glad you found "the one". You'll always have a great story to tell, too!
  17. Erica, those pics are great! Everyone looked like they had a ball. As good as these pics are, I know Juan's will be amazing! How long will you have to wait?
  18. OMG! Some of those are hysterical! Thanks for the giggle!
  19. Yari! I love them! The Facebook teasers didn't even compare. I'm so sad I wasn't a guest, everyone looked like they had so much fun! I cried through the whole slideshow, and the pictures of Angela nearly sent me over the edge... Congrats again!

    Hello

Welcome Donna! The forum is an invalueable resource! I just got married in Jamaica and loved it! I would suggest developing a "wish list" to help you choose a resort. All Inclusive, Adults Only vs. Family Friendly, Beach vs. Cliffs, Budget, etc. Good luck!
  21. Welcome to the forum. Try doing a search or browse the Punta Cana threads to see what other brides have done. I'm sure the info is out there somewhere!
  22. I am a huge cry-baby. I seriously tear up every time I hear the National Anthem. Hallmark commercials get to me and they are only 30 seconds long! Surprisingly, I only teared up as I was waiting to walk down the aisle and then at the very end when we exchanged rings. There is so much excitement, your brain will be going a million mph so you might just make it through! LOL
