  1. Congrats to you both! I hope you day is even better than you imagined! Be sure to come back with lots of pictures, you know how we are!
  2. I'm so sorry Heather. I understand where you are coming from. I had a hard time shopping because I was trying to find a dress that would please my DH or that was "appropriate" for the beach. In the end, I really wanted the Cinderella poofy dress! It was my wedding, so that's what I got. You need to do what will make you happy. It is such a special day, you need to be happy and not second-guessing your choices. I loved my dress but never had the "It's THE ONE" feeling. But, I was completely satisfied with my choice. Good Luck!
  3. When I was looking into packages, Mexico would have been cheapest, then Jamaica, then DR. You never really know until you see the numbers! Good luck!
  4. That will be one interesting wedding! She irritates the crap out of me! I think it is the vapid giggle. Poor Hef is 0 for 3. The new bunnies he is moving in are 19!
  5. Jamaica was the easiest that I looked into, a big reason we chose to get married there. The fee is $200. Like Bianca said, you can always get married at home and do a symbolic or renewal ceremony at your destination.
  6. Sorry you are going through this Danielle. I didn't have the same kind of drama, but did have my fair share. There were numerous occasions when I wanted to cancel the whole damn thing. If you don't mind me asking, why will the wedding cost so much? Are you paying for your guests? I think you need to sit down and have a heart to heart with the bridal party. Ask them point blank if they want to opt out. It might be a little underhanded, but they might start being nice to you once they realize they are being a$$holes about the situation. If they do all opt out, it's fine to not have a BP. Bottom line is that Couples is amazing and relaxing and once you are there it will be wonderful. I was sad the way some things went down and that some important people weren't there, but I didn't let it effect my trip. Be sure to book a massage and enjoy! Good luck!
  7. That sounds divine! Tammy, I think you are trying to sabotage my dieting with all of the yummy goodness you keep posting!
  8. Wow! You have a lot of initials and acronyms! It sure makes you sound important! I'm impressed! LOL
  9. Great find! Your sister gets an A! It is really hard to dance in a wedding dress! LOL
  10. I'd like to know a little more about our new "class" of brides to be.
  11. I love Nibblet's Halloween costume. I hope he had fun trick-or-treating! Smidgen is a great name for a virtual ferret, or a real one for that matter.
  12. I'm really sorry you are going through this. I agree that you might want to try David's. They have a decent selection of in stock sizes, and can have them shipped in from another store if necessary within a week. i cant see pictures!
  13. I think a beach vacation is in order. Where in Ohio are you? I know there is a charter service out of Cincy that has last minute deals all the time to the Bahamas and Cancun.
  14. I'm a chef, so feel free to ask any questions at any time! My standard advice is to start small. Once you are comfortable in the kitchen, you can start to expand. Too often, I've seen people start off big and get discouraged if it doesn't work. I think everyone should have a copy of "The Joy of Cooking". It is a great resource! It's not a pretty book with lots of pictures, but technique and foods are very thouroughly described. Martha Stewart has a new cookbook that I think is called "Cooking School" or something similar. It does have pictures to guide you along. Palua Dean has a kid's cookbook out now that I love, especially for new cooks (of any age)! Each recipe is a "normal" food, they are quick and easy, and the instructions are very detailed. Good luck!
  15. Great review, Stacey. I 'm sure future brides will really appreciate all of your detail. I'm sorry the cigar roller caused such drama! I hope it didn't ruin your memories of your wedding. I'm off to ogle your pictures! EDIT: Those pictures are amazing! You looked so beautiful! I love the one of you walking down the aisle and your shoes peeking out! I saw your dress after I cought mine and seriously considered changing it! LOL
  16. My ring is completely different now. we had the stone re-mounted. I think i'm just indecisive and I don't know that I would ever be 100% happy for life with anything, LOL But, I will not get a new wedding ring. I told DH all along I was keeping the ring I said "I do" with and if I wnted something bigger/better/different, I would buy a new one.
  17. I don't understand why you would give a gift? And how are you supposed to hand them out? Will you have an additional party or do you have to mail them all out? I personally would find it strange to find a candle in the mail, especially if I were not invited to the wedding. I think you should hold on to the favors and give them out at your AHR. I would send announcements/invites out with a photo if you want. You can also do photo thank you cards.
  18. I confess I am doing everything in my power today to avoid cleaning my office. It is probably a fire hazard and I am really disorganized at the moment, so it needs to be done, I'm just not in the mood to file. I thought I might try to revive some of the chit-chat threads.
  19. Some of the newbies might get a kick out of this
  20. I have to say that I really do like #1. The back is beautiful and feels "beachy" to me. But, that one is more my personal style, so I might be biased. The second one is also very pretty. Would you keep the white sash or use a colored one? You could always keep both and use one as a TTD, so you get pictures in both!
  21. Congrats to you both! Enjoy your special day! I hope you are having a wonderful time!
  22. That is really unique! It is really hard to cram all of that info into a small paper invite. Way to think outside the box! I'm sure your guests will appreciate it.
  23. BBJ is the best company out there IMO. BBJ Linen I have worked with them and cannot say enough nice things. However, they are not the cheapest. You will also have to pay for shipping because there isn't a PA office. Usually $50 for orders under $1500. Have you searched for a local rental company? There is another company out of Indiana that I've heard good things about, but I have never used them and cannot think of the name. Good Luck with your search!
  24. I'm really interested in it. I tried to get the free CD they offer, to see if I would use it. I've tried several different language tapes and some don't really match my learning style, were too advanced, etc. The operator lady only tried to sell me stuff and wouldn't send me the sample! I guess I'll have to call back. I'd really like to get them if they work.
