Welcome! Are you having a DW? The reason I ask is because of shipping purposes and how long you will need to keep the products. My colors were Tiffany and Turquoise. For my AHR, I got my linens from BBJ Linen They are the best in the business and have the highest quality. However, they are pretty pricey. My full length table cloths were $36 each and I think the sashes were $8. I did buy cheaper sashes for my Jamaica wedding from LinensBlvd on e-bay 120 Robin blue egg satin sash sashes chair cover bow - eBay (item 130267962146 end time Nov-16-08 08:43:08 PST) They were very easy to work with as well. Good luck!

There are a bunch of places in the Detroit area! I have been to a ton of family events at various places, but of course cannot remember any of the names. I would start with your favorite restaurant and find out if they have any space available. You can also check into some local hotels, especially if you will have any guests travelling. I'll check and see what info I can get from my family. I also have contacts at the new Marriot by the airport (that is where I always stay) if you want me to pass it along! This is a helpful site: Event Venues in Michigan (MI)

Teaser TTD pics!!
ErinB replied to tvt's topic in Post your Destination Wedding & Engagement Pictures!
Tara I LOVE them! I'm glad you decided to go fot it too! Stephany, I agree. Everyone should do a TTD! -
I say just let them do their own thing. If you have 2 showers, it's no big deal. I'm sure a lot of us have been to lingerie showers, bach parties, family showers, pampered chef parties, etc. all for the same bride. I averaged 3 events per bride, not including the wedding, for all of my friends. I would send a nice e-mail to all of the girls telling them how much you appreciate their hard work and are so excited. But, ask them to please not include you on e-mails, etc. because you want to be surprised. Be thankful you have a bridal party that is willing and able to host these events for you. Some of us weren't so lucky. LOL

Jenny I would go in a heartbeat! The only place my DH will even discuss moving is back to Kansas! I think it is a fantastic opportunity and it will force you to slow down. A year isn't very long in the grand scheme of things. By having the internet, phone, etc. you can stay connected with your family pretty easily. You could find a job at a resort spa, I'm sure. If you do some research before hand, look into jobs, housing, flight schedules, etc. you will prolly (thanks Abbie!) feel much more comfortable. Have you talked to you family about this yet?

Hannah Maries Birth Story and Pics!! See Post #55
ErinB replied to ACDCDCAC's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
Aww Karma, she is absolutely beautiful. For some reason I'm crying tears of joy after reading your post! Maybe I can blame it on allergies so my staff doesn't think I'm crazy (and not working). And by the way, you look pretty fantastic for just giving birth! I'm impressed! -
anyone have childhood stuffed animals or blankies still???
ErinB replied to Michelle's topic in Random Thoughts
I still have a bunch of my stuff, but it is packed up. I was never slept with any animals but I did have a blankie that my Nana made me. I also still have my original Care Bear sheets from my first big-girl bed, circa 1983-ish. My big thing was this pink teddy bear planter that a friend brought me in the hospital when I was born. It was from my mom's BFF's brother. I was born on his birthday and it was also his 1 year sober date. Sept. 15 was a big day for all of us! The plant is still alive! I've always called it my "grandfather plant". You hear stories about how a clock stops and someone dies, well I feel that way about this plant. At our engagement party, I was telling this story, showing off my ceramic teddy bear. Well, the next morning, it just fell off the shelf. I have NO CLUE how it happened. I cried for like an hour! I immediately re-planted the plant in a different pot and tried to glue the other one back together, but it's kinda lopsided now. -
Yay MRS. ELLIS! Thanks for checking in! Now get of the computer and go enjoy your honeymoon!

Brides with Blue bridesmaids....
ErinB replied to lgarner83's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I think the red would look really good. Since the dresses are a bold color, you might want to go with another bright hue. -
Bouquet color suggestion please!
ErinB replied to lgarner83's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
The great thing about that color is that you can do so many things! White would work, to complement you. Bright pinks would be pretty. I'm biased because they are my favorites. You can also go for bright colors like organe, yellow, or lime green. The ribbon on the bouquet stems is a good way to add an accent color. There is a thread on here with bouquet inspirations. You can also browse the Knot and Brides.com galleries. -

How do I stop my Dog from Eating Blankets??
ErinB replied to BachataBride's topic in Random Thoughts
What a cutie! We've got a 6.5 YO chocolate lab and are about to get him a little sister. They are known for chewing! Harley stopped chewing on his blankets once he was out of the crate, about a year. Now, he just licks everything! Our blankets, the couch, the floor...I don't think there is enough of that spray to cover my entire house! I would give it a shot, or simply take the blankets out. There are some nice cage beds you can buy as an alternative. -
In Need of Appetizers for tonight!

You could do an Italian antipasti platter with marinated veggies - artichokes, mushrooms, olives, meats, etc and put the cheese on the side. What kind of kebabs are you making? -

These always go over well with our Bunco group. Both are super easy and can be made with things you probably have in your pantry. They can also be easily modified and you can use lower fat ingredients without really effecting the taste. Black Bean Pinwheels 1 lb Cream Cheese 1 Can Black Beans, rinsed and drained 2 Cups Shredded Cheese 1/2 Cup Salsa 1 Pack Taco Seasoning Soften cream cheese. Mix in all other ingredients, except beans. Once the mixture is blended well, fold in beans. Spread over tortillas and roll up. Let chill for 30+ minutes then slice into bite sized pieces. Serve with extra salsa and or guacamole. The recipe is great because you can add all kinds of things - corn, peppers, fresh veggies, etc. Buffalo Chicken Dip Like wings without the mess! INGREDIENTS 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened 3/4 cup pepper sauce, such as Franks® Red Hot® 1 cup Salad dressing - Ranch or Blue Cheese 2 cups diced cooked chicken (can use 2, 10 oz cans) 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese DIRECTIONS Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a medium bowl, stir together the cream cheese and hot pepper sauce until well blended. Mix in the Ranch dressing, chicken and 1 1/2 cup cheddar cheese. Spread into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven. Top with remaining cheese and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and browned. If oil collects on the top, dab it off using a paper towel. Serve with tortilla chips, butter crackers, chicken crakers, celery & carrot sticks, etc -
Michelle that is too funny! This isn't about me, but my mom's BFF was a single mom and they didn't have much money. SHe used to tell her daughter that hot dogs were steaks and deviled eggs were salmon croquettes. All of the kids at school thought she had all of these fancy meals. It was a shock when she actually had a steak and salmon croquettes!

Anyone else excited for Grey's Anatomy tonight?!
ErinB replied to ret2010's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
Yari I cried too! I'm in a bit of a funk and I was wondering how DH and I would be in a similar situation. It made me cry even harder! Loved the dynamic between McSteamy and Yang. I was cracking up at his lame attempts. I need to reseach this Hahn business. The ending didn't seem like it could be her last episode.
