  1. I was not a Sandals bride, but did contact them. They were very strict in their no outside vendor rules. I would search for photos on the forum from SOR brides. Check out wedding reviews and bride referals. If you want something special, maybe you could hire a local photographer and do a day-shoot at the beach or at Dunn's River, etc. It could be a formal setting or something fun like a TTD or both. You might actually save some money since it wouldn't have to ba an all day thing and you could try for an off day (like Tuesday) when the photog might not be as busy as he or she would be on a Saturday.
  2. Oh no! and you don't have a David's Bridal in Canada... Can you make a trip to the States? LOL What sizes do you need? I'm sure a bunch of us can search and see what we come up with. Do you want a dress in blue or orange?
  3. OMG! I think I just peed! I love the note about Michelle, the employee of the month. I have felt that way at times, LOL
  4. Happy Birthday! I hope it's a great one! Do ayou have anything special planned?
  5. Are you on a mono-phasic or tri-phasic pill? I found that the mono-phasic dosages worked best because there was a constant hormone level. I say tough it out and go ahead and skip the placebos this month and next month. Your body should adjust in time. Be sure you take it at the same time every day and you aren't taking anything else that can interfere with BC like antibiotics, etc.

I think he likes having someone to play with. She just cases him around everywhere and runs between his legs. It's really cute. I should video it. The only time he ever really got upset was when Mike put her in the bed last night. He sort of growled and then rolled over and went back to sleep. I'm worried about tomorrow because we both have to work, so it will be a 5 hour stretch for her to be in her cage. I should probably go tell our neighbors to ignore the howling.
  7. YUM! the linzertorte cookies look fantastic! I'm also going to have to try the lemon ricotta ones.
  8. How pretty! A friend of mine just got married in Florida and I think she had the same dress. It looked great on the beach!
  9. We picked up our new puppy Friday night. She is 9 weeks and already 15 pounds. We've got a big girl on our hands! So far it hasn't been bad. She has only had 2 accidents in the house. She's not a huge fan of her cage yet and she's a chewer. We definitely have our work cut out for us. The breeder just had her out in the barn with the rest of the dogs. I don't think she'd ever seen a cage but she is very well socialized with other animals. Here are a few pictures. I need a new camera and/or one of our fabulous BDW photographers to get a good shot. SHe has the sweetest little face! My Favorite: In her food dish: Sleepy girl: Harley is her favorite chew toy: Not a big fan of her collar yet either:
  10. Happy Birthday Carly! I hope you have a wonderful day and get lots of presents!
  11. I love your tree! It looks huge. I hope I can make time this weekend to get mine up. It's pretty small, especially in our new house. I can't bring myself to spend hundreds of dollars on a full price big tree, so I'll be shopping on Christmas Eve trying to find a discounted one! LOL I like to have my "decorator tree" where everything is matchy matchy. I haven't had a "family tree" since I was about 12. Mom is not big on decorating and we used to buy a tree from a local charity festival every year.
  12. The door knob hangers can be a safety issue if they say things like "con find me at the pool" or "at dinner, back at 8" or they are the blank ones you can write your own messages on. Basically, you don't want to let people know you aren't in the room and won't be there for awhile. It can be taken as an invitation for theft. I know that no one from our group had anything taken, but one of the other guests we met did. I don't think theft is a huge issue, but you do need to be smart about it and not invite trouble, KWIM?
  13. welcome to the fourm! It is a great resource.
  14. I say send the invite and do a follow up call after each has had time to get it. I would blame it on the post office. Say you were wondering why you hadn't heard from them and it was brought to you attention that they hadn't received one. Tell them you are sorry and wanted to be sure they had a personal invite.
  15. Have you tried E-bay or Craig's List? I wanted them so badly, but couldn't justify the price. Oh well, DH can get me some for a present later! Here are some knock-offs for $45 http://www.jafgifts.com/frmItem.aspx?ItemCode=104701
  16. Welcome back Melissa! You look beautiful! Is your siggy pic a teaser or do you just have really talented friends/family? I can't wait to see more and hear all about your trip! I'm so glad you had a wonderful time! Congrats MRS!

Once you're all dolled up in your dress or liquored up off the free booze you are going to be so hot! I don't think you have anything to worry about. Get ready for the honeymoon phase!
  18. First off, it isn't up to you to plan your showers. Someone close to you should offer to host one. If they are hosting, then they can help determine the guest list. I personally did not invite anyone to a shower that wasn't invited to the wedding. However we had quite a few people who could not attend and most of them I know would not be able to make it, but I wanted them to feel included. I don't see anything wrong with both families offering to host a shower, provided they know about the wedding and your reasons for wanting to keep it small. I had 2 showers in my hometown, one hosted by and aunt and the other by friends. I also had a shower in KC hosted by my MIL because none of my DH's side could make it.
  19. I agree. If you are comfortable with the money, you should do it. Or find a different photog that is within your budget (maybe share or have family do it) I am borderline plus size but haven't always been. I was very uncomfortable with my body prior to the wedding. I still am, but it was my wedding, so I felt extra stress. I can honestly say that I felt beautiful for my wedding and TTD. Not only do I have great memories and pictures that will last forever, but the feeling and belief in myself that I was pretty again was worth it. Like some others have said, I actually like my TTD pics better than a lot of my wedding pics. My DH wasn't down with the idea so I did it alone. I felt the session was rather empowering.

I honestly don't remember, that's how bad it is. I do love that new smooth feeling, so I'll have to do something about it this weekend.
  21. We purchased J&F suits in Khaki silk. They were very nice quality and the boys all looked great. I thought they were reasonably priced and the service was good. Unfortunately this is not the time of year to find summer suits! You might have to wait until spring if you want to see one in person.
  22. OMG! How funny would those be for gag gifts for a secret santa or white elephant exchange?
  23. I no longer have to say "Kat from the forum" it's just Kat or Kathie, LOL I swear I have more online friends than real ones. I think we get to be so close over a very important part of our lives that others don't understand. DWs are completely differnent than regular weddings! I could not have just "checked out" because my wedding was over. My confession... I haven't shaved my legs in God knows how long. I'm to the point of grossing myself out! I might just wax them so I can pretend that I have an excuse for letting it get to this this bad. I guess that also tells you how long it's been since I've had sex, LOL
