  1. Team Edward is a reference to the Twilight book series by Stephenie Meyer. They are about as addicting as BDW! THe first movie is out and the lead character looks a lot like the guy that plays Chuck Bass. I want to know why Lily was institutionalized too! If I remember correctly, there was some allusion to her having (or not having) Rufus' baby. The Lily/Rufus relationship timeline just seems off! Maybe I just suck at math, but think about it. They always refer to him as being a big-time 90s band. If Serena is 18 and it was 2008, that would mean she would have been born in 1990. If that is true, she would have been alive and Lily would have been living the rich lifestyle, not hanging out with Pearl Jam, KWIM?
  2. I'd take a safety pin just in case. I had a 3 point french (under) bustle so it was really secure, but the back of the dress did get stepped on and torn out. You can never be too prepared!
  3. Welcome! Have you decided on a location/resort yet? I was married in Negril and it was wonderful!
  4. Abbie - the actors are different, though they do look similar. I think Chuck would have made a good Edward. He's very brooding. If you watch this show, you will be totally hooked! Between GG and Team Edward I feel like a 14 year old girl again! LOL New episodes start tomorrow! (I'm very excited that new shows are starting again. I have no life!) I thought Jack Bass was Bart's brother? I'm going to have to check out some spoliers to see if that is correct.
  5. I was a Jamaica bride! You will love it! Congrats and Happy Planning!
  6. The forum is a wonderful planning resource! Good luck!
  7. Divide and Conquer I don't know what I would have done if the new 1 bag rules were in place! We each had 2 big bags - Me, DH, Mom, and Photog. I threw a few things in with bridesmaids and some shoes into DH's golf bag. That doesn't count us each having a carry on bag and my dress and DH's suit! I honestly felt like a pack mule! If possible, see if you can upgrade to first class at the gate. You get 3 FREE checked bags, up to 70 pounds with most airlines. We did this on the way back(why I didn't think of it on the way down, I'll never know) and it was only $70! Worth every single penny!
  8. Welcome Sarah! The forum is an invaluable resource! Happy planning. JM, good to see you again!
  9. Marie said it best. You need to give yourself some time to grieve. You need to honor her and her memory but then move on as she would want. If nothing else, these tragedies teach us that life is precious. If she is someone who would have been part of your wedding, the forum has lots of ideas for memorials. I'm so sorry for your loss.
  10. Can you post a picture of your dress? There are lots of options. You can wear a strapless or long line bra (if the back is low). You may be able to get bra cups sewn in or just have the top tightened so you don't have to wear anything. You can also wear the "chicken cutlets" if you need something that won't show, but give you a little lift. I wore boy short panties so I would be comfy. You may or may not need a slip, depending on the skirt of the dress. I had an A-line crinoline to keep the skirt full. My dress boutique said they always recommend some kind of slip for outdoor weddings to hold the shape of the dress, keep it from blowing between your legs, etc.
  11. Awww! I didn't know I was even nominated! I feel so special now, LOL Thanks ladies!
  12. Congrats! This means your big day is right around the corner! I'm so excited for you two!
  13. Hey Dez! I was just thinking about you this morning. I knew you were close! Is there anything any of us can do for you? Format programs, print OOT tags or anything? Don't hesitate to ask. Hang in there. Your hard work is about to pay off. ANd you get the bonus of a much needed vacation!

  15. Check out the Mori Lee Affairs and Ava Collections. They have some great dresses and I think most come in white or ivory. Affair bridesmaid dresses and cocktail dresses from Mori Lee Ava collection features simple and elegant bridesmaid dresses Mori lee You can also search Macys (by color I think) and J-Crew
  16. Great idea to take pictures before and after. You aren't over-reacting at all! I'm with Rachel - I hope she isn't charging you! Let us konw how things turn out! Good luck!
  17. I agree with everyone else - don't panic just yet. You have had a lot of contact with the seller which is good. I'd be worried if she stopped answering you. This time of year the post office is still crazy busy. Try to limit yourself to checking the status once a day, LOL. I'm sure it will get to you soon!
  18. Congrats! I love spoiling babies! My wallet is probably glad I don't have my own kiddos! Things I know that get used: Sophie Girraffe - teething toy that is all natural Hooter Hider - I don't know if that is the correct name, but it's like a bib for nursing moms Swadling Blankets Robeez shoes Bumbo Seat I personally always give a baby bath tub filled with goodies and/or a baby medicine kit. I get an organizer and lable the drawers with medical stuff and medicines. I think both are very practical gifts and saves mom or dad from going to the pharmacy at midnight for some Motrin.
  19. I LOVE it! I don't think you need to add anything. If you want to jazz it up, I would get some fabulous colored shoes.
  20. I did Tiffany Blue with Turquoise accents. The flowers were orchids in different shades of pink.
  21. Congrats MRS! You pics are great! I also love the flowers. I think we had the same color scheme! How was CSS? I was a CSA bride and we are torn between going back and trying a different Couples property.
  22. Good grief! At least it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Have a safe rest of Christmas!
  23. fray Can you add a letter or do they have to stay 4 letter words? I'm a Scrabble junkie!
  24. Look for glass paint. It's what we used to make my shower favors. All you have to do is follow the directions on the package. You use like normal paint. Be sure to turn the glasses upside down (with the stems facing up) on a baking sheet. You might even want to line it with parchment paper. We did them in batches. Put one set in to bake and cool and worked on the next set. By the time the first ones were cool enough to take off the tray, the second ones were ready to go in!
