  1. WOW! You really did a lot of work! Your wedding will be amazing! I can't wait to see how it all turns out.
  2. I confess... #1) I am drunk. Boxed wine is dangerous (and maybe a lil' tacky) cause it never ends #2) I head that BIL might lose his job. Now there is a BIG backstory with him. Basically, he ended up being the golden child within DH's family. The lot of them were completely unsupportive of our wedding, etc.yet couldn't do enough for him & his future bride. I had to take a few minutes of glee in the fact that they might finally have a bump in the road. #3) Now I feel really guilty about #2
  3. Andrea, I've packed on at least 15 pounds. I've quit weighing myself because it's depressing. THe cold weather doesn't help at all!
  4. Heather, welcome to post wedding let down. I am ready for another wedding myself. I feel like now that I've been through the experience, I could go back and 'fix' all of the things that I didn't like. Don't get me wrong, we had a wonderful week, be had almost no alone time. We were in Jamaica for a full week and got married on Saturday so our guests who couldn't stay that long could attend the wedding. The only day we had after the wedding was Sunday and we wanted to spend that time with family. When we returned I focused on the AHR, then we bought a house. Now that all of that excitement is over, boredom has really set in. Like Abbie said, there are always wedding pictures! We were supposed to take a vacation/honeymoon this summer and I don't know that we can afford it. I wish I had better words of wisdom, but just know that you aren't alone!
  5. Welcome! June 21st is a great date! That is my anniversary! Be sure to search the Sandals and Caribbean sections. I'm sure you'll find the answers to your questions.

  7. Occansey Designs Wedding Veils - OBridal.com Here you go! You can also try e-bay and etsy.
  8. Without seeing a picture or knowing anything else about it, the price sounds way too high for me! My veil was only $50! It was really simple but it did the job, KWIM? There are lots of sites recommended by brides on the forum that do custom veils for very reasonable prices. I think Ann and Maura the mods used the same vendor. I'll try and find the link for you. The bridal salon trap is SO easy to fall into! Don't feel bad!
  9. I don't think it is rude, you will just need to be realistic that you might not have as high of a guest count as you hope. You also may need to be a little more flexible with details. For example, your resort might have another wedding booked at the time slot you want. You might have to find a dress off the rack or with rush shipping instead of having one custom made, etc. I think if you let people know ASAP what your plans are you'll be fine. I'd get a website up pretty quickly to easily update your guests. If a large number of invitees won't be able to make it, you might want to consider an AHR so people have a chance to celebrate with you. It's important to remember that your wedding is about you and your FI. If it is really important that you have 100 of your closest friends there, then you might want to wait. If you're ready to tie the knot now, then go for it!
  10. That is a great idea and super cute! I swear all of you crafty ladies with your DIY projects are giving me a complex! I'm off to read something Martha Stewart...LOL

I don't know if she was mad about me not asking her to be in the wedding or what. I have another few that are still really distant. When we talk we are fine, but I do feel like they weren't really supportive. One of my BMs is very self-absorbed and even though she was on our trip, she's fallen off the face of the earth. We moved into our new house in Sept. and she hasn't come to see it. She works 2 blocks away! I do have to wonder how much of it was wedding related or just our lives taking different courses. A lot of my married friends are on baby 1 or 2 right now and my single friends don't really want to go bar hopping with the old married lady. It has taken me a while to sort of let go, which I haven't completely, but it's been almost a year. I think this is just part of growing up and establishing a new adult life with a partner.
  12. Welcome! You will love Jamaica! The best thing to do is start searching the forum. I'm sure you'll find answers to lots of your questions.
  13. Thanks for the advice ladies. I have tried all of those sprays and it doesn't phase her. We do crate her when we're gone and only giver her run of a very few rooms when she is out and supervised. She is just so damn fast and mischievous! LOL We don't have nice furniture, but I really don't want her to do this when we get new stuff. She should be out of her chewing phase by then. She'll be getting fixed within a week or two so maybe that will help. The weather has been so bad we really haven't gotten as much outside time as she needs so I'm sure that is adding to the problem. Quote: Confession: I'm finishing my final semester of animation school, and I've been pretending to everyone that I'm still working really hard and that technical problems have been what's slowing me down (which is partially true) but the main reason my grades are slipping is that I spend almost all my time looking at wedding stuff and then have to do one week of homework in one day! In fact, today is that day, and even though my homework is due tomorrow I'm posting here! I do this too, and I have been married for almost a year!
  14. DH and I both voted! He wants to know why I don't have sexy pictures like you do, LOL. How often can we vote?
  15. I am a caterer so I get all of my hardlines directly from Comet or thru Sysco or GFS. I know the GFS stores carry all of the lines, or they can get them in. THe website that Megan found actually has pretty good prices and a good selection.
  16. Then I like #2. Or maybe you could put a few sparkles on #1 to amke it more festive?
  17. hmmmm, I like the first one best and think you will probably get more use out of it. I think the 2nd or 4th ones are probably better suited to your dress, but I don't know if it is worth it to only use it once or twice, KWIM?
  18. That sounds great Kelly! I wanna go! Think I can fit in your suitcase?
  19. If you get married before or after legally, you can have anyone symbolically marry you. If you still want to be married in Jamaica, the Jamaican officiant has to stand at the altar and witness the ceremony and he has to be the one the actually say 'I pronounce you man and wife'
  20. That sounds fun! I try and see all of the nominated movies every year, but so far I have only seen 'Revolutionary Road'. I think it would be fun to have a swanky party one year and make everyone wear formals and have lots of champagne!
  21. I might have to resort to using hot sauce to make her stop, even though it feels mean. That might be what it takes to make her learn.
  22. There are always so many great members, it's hard to choose! I'll nominate Marie (MarieSam) for B2B and Stacey for Mrs.
  23. Aw Andrea! I know exactly how you feel. I confess that I love my dog, but am wondering if it was best get a puppy. I feel like we should have gotten an older dog. She has eaten every piece of furniture we own! Thank goodness the bed is iron! I've tried every spray on the market and have baby gates to every room in the house.
  24. Wow1 Those are amazing pictures! Good luck choosing a favorite, there are so many!
  25. Those shots are fantastic! I can only imagine how great the pro pics will be. My DH saw your dress in a magazine and he loved it. You definitely look better in it than I did!
