  1. Try these... http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t7159 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t985 Someone a long time ago did OOT bag CDs with a song that was important to each 'couple' guests. So she had her parent's wedding song, Aunt's wedding song, the favorite song she and her sister would sing when they were little, that type of thing. It was a cute idea. One of the other girls also sent out a CD with beachy/latin music in her pre-travel pack. Good luck with your search!
  2. I did CD favors of our favorite love songs. I tried to choose songs that all of our guests could enjoy. There is a thread called "must have songs" I think. You should find lots of inspiration there. Try searching for Spanish music or browsing the music sub forum.
  3. Thanks for the pics! They are amazing as usual! Jenny you look stunning and the flowers are beautiful! I hope you had an amazing week and I can't wait to hear all about it! Oh and thanks for calling us Photo Vultures instead of Photo Whores or Sluts. It sounds slightly better.
  4. Wow! That is just a drunk fest waiting to happen! LOL
  5. I was told 48 hours but I am guessing that has more to do with coordinating the wedding. So if we arrived on Thursday we could get married on Saturday type thing. It gives the WC more time to be sure your details are in order and you can fix things if you need to. With my resort we had to have all of the paperwork in a minimum of 30 days before arrival so I really don't think there would be a paperwork issue. After you are married you will receive a temporary marriage certificate. You can use that to change your name and status on certain local things, some bank information, etc. Your real marriage license will arrive in 3-4 months and you take that to the social security office to officially change your name and marital status with the federal government. You probably won't be able to change your drivers license until you get your real certificate.
  6. Nordstrom's is great because you can search by color.
  7. What song do you want? If I have the file I'll just e-mail it to you.
  8. I know there is a lot of work that goes into creating a new sub-forum and moving appropriate threads to it...BUT... Would it be possible to start an AHR thread? I think that is a confusing subject to try and categorize within the existing options and lately I've seen the same questions being asked all over the forum. Maybe we could sticky things like invitation wording or how long to wait, those kinds of things. It would also give us a place to post AHR reviews and photos for inspiration.
  9. I didn't do this, but I will tell you now it will be very expensive. I know Sylvia Weinstock does them, but you are probably talking about $10K and up for a wedding cake. If you really want to do this, look at bakeries in LA or anywhere that has a direct flight to Hawaii. Most bakers who do this will send someone to accompany the cake. They will set it up and make any last minute fixes or decorations. You have to figure travel and possible accommodations on top of the cost of the cake. It will probably be more budget friendly to research bakers in Hawaii. Look for places that have won local awards or that provide references. Good luck!
  10. I like the sandy blonde with a tan and on the beach. SInce your wedding is in the summer you can get away with it. I usually go lighter in summer and darker in winter but that is just me. Does your FI have a preference? DH always wants me blonde!
  11. Happy wedding day! I hope it is even better than you imagined!
  12. Jenny I'm so excited for you! I can't wait to hear all about your big day. I know you'll give lots of extra love and kisses to Greg. JM we need pics ASAP! I'll be expecting you to stay up all night and have some teasers for us first thing in the morning!
  13. I have had all 3 for years. I need to have them updated now that we are married. I would definitely have your wishes spelled out for a living will. It is a very tough situation to be in and I wouln't want my family to have to think twice about making a decision. I did all of mine through an attorney. It shouldn't cost very much to have the papers drawn up. A lot of times the papers will have to be witnessed or notarized and all of that is included when you go through an attorney. He or she can also answer any specific questions about how your estate will be settled and you can go ahead and put provisions in for heirs and secondary benificiaries should something happen to both of you at the same time. I don't think of it as morbid at all. I think it is really responsible and an act of love to be prepared and spare your family the hassle of dealing with these matters after you are gone.
  14. I was just thinking I need to move to Philly/Jersey or Seattle so I can hang out with my forum friends. Since my real friends suck right now. We'd have more fun anyway!
  15. Me too Amanda! And I've been married for 9 months! I think my mom and I might join Curves together. I want a high intensity workout and I love classes but no one will go with me. I can't stay motivated if I have to do it all on my own.
  16. Are you using a template? If so, what details were included? I would do a seach for Boarding Pass invites/STDs. There should be enough threads with pictures to give you some inspiration. Good luck!
  17. I personally think you should go ahead with the HDs for the reasons you stated above. People should have something to do while you are taking pictures and you need to get your money's worth for the band. How much is the charge per person? If you don't have the money in your budget, don't go broke to provide food. If you can afford it then why not? Our HDs were really good!
  18. Welcome! Jamaica is beautiful! I'm sure your trip will be a welcome change from the Chicago winter.
  19. Oh no Yamille! I totally understand about body issues. I didn't have BD pics done because I couldn't bear the thought of looking at my fat ass! I would think about doing another shoot, if not before the wedding then maybe as an anniversary present. Your first is paper, so there you go! It would give you time to save up and really shop around for a photog you are comfortable with. Have you told the photographer you are unhappy? Is there any way you could get a full or partial refund?

We opted to use the Gazebo for our ceremony.....it was very private and exactly what we wanted. The entire staff at the Grand Lido were terrific!!! Not a bad word to say about any of them. They even upgraded my family's rooms so they could all be close to us. The resort is definately worth the money.....the nude beach is no where near the regular beach in case anyone was worried about that. In short...we had a fantastic wedding and i would recommend them in a heart beat!! I'm so happy you had a good experience! I'd love to see pictures and read a review!

Welcome! Negril is beautiful! You will love it.
  22. Have you thought about a brooch or floral pin or something you could put on the side? With that dress I wouldn't do a sash.
