  2. OMG Girls! I have been such a bad BDWer! I didn't post pics of my fabulous wedding gifts from the Ferret Club Founders. Morgan and Nibblet found the most amazing napkin rings for me. I can't wait to have them over for dinner. They are so nice I have to save them for special occasions. Becks got us the coordinating Door Knocker as a combination wedding/housewarming gift. Now all who come to visit will have the pleasure of using this: I am truly blessed to have such good friends! We are saving up to remodel out kitchen. You better believe we are going first class all the way with our new drawer pulls!
  3. I did Turquoise and TIffany Blue with Sand & White accents. A very beachy pallet.
  4. I'm in! I've got to do something ASAP! We have a florida vacation for Memorial Day, do maybe this will help me stay motivated!
  5. We booked as a group and for the most part it worked out well for us. We got premium flight times and were all on the same flights. Those of us flying from different cities met up in Memphis and flew down together, so it was almost like a charter. I would say that if you choose to do this, only reserve the number of seats for people you are 100% sure are going. I would get at least $100 per person (non-refundable) from them. We had a lot of people from DH's side back out and we had to pay some penalties.
  6. I only did my legs and eyebrows. I do my eyebrows all the time so that was no big deal. Having my legs done was the best decision EVER! LOL
  7. Happy Wedding! I hope it is even better than you imagined!
  8. Congrats and Welcome! Be sure to check out the Jamaica sub-forum and wedding reviews for more info! Good luck and happy planning!
  9. I've been in the same exact position. It sucks. I wish I had some words of wisdom, but I don't. At least there are a few months between your weddings, my BIL got married 3 WEEKS before us. It did cause some tension and honestly, I'm still pissed. The best thing you can do is focus on having the best wedding for you and your FI. Why do BIL's kids need to come? Are they in the wedding? What would happen if BIL didn't come? Are you still expected to pay for the kids to go? You need to have a real sit down, heart to heart with BIL and find out if he will commit (and this means giving you a check) to being in your wedding. If you can get the business out of the way, you will be able to enjoy both weddings.
  10. Here is the point rewards page. Marriott Rewards points - Redeem Marriott Rewards points and use Rewards You earn points based on the dollar amount. At the nicer full Marriotts you get 10 points per dollar; at the budget hotels you get 5 points per dollar. 300x8=2400 = 24,000 points. You can redeem the points for free nights or room upgrades. If you have an active frequent flyer program, it might be better for you to earn miles instead. At that particular resort you would earn 2 miles for every dollar 300x8=2400 = 4800 miles. I know some of the airlines have a alliance/sharing program like NWA and Delta, so you might want to see what will offer the best reward.
  11. Maybe do some AXE shower gel or something. You could also find a beach towel or t-shirt or something since you only need one. I love the idea of a disposable underwater camera. What is going in your other bags?
  12. In 1986, Peter Davies was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from Northwestern University . On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air. The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully. He got down on one knee, inspected the elephants foot, and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it. As carefully and as gently as he could, Peter worked the wood out with his knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot. The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments. Peter stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away. Peter never forgot that elephant or the events of that day. Twenty years later, Peter was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his teenaged son.As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to near where Peter and his son Cameron were standing. The large bull elephant stared at Peter, lifted its front foot off the ground, and then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man. Remembering the encounter in 1986, Peter could not help wondering if this was the same elephant. Peter summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing, and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder. The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Peter legs and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly. Probably wasn't the same elephant. This is for all of my friends who send me those heart-warming bullshit stories.
  13. When I was on the ring, I was on a constant dosage, emaning the goal was NOT to have a period. I would change out the ring every 3 weeks for 6 months straight, have one period, then go back to a 6 month cycle. In my amateur OB/GYN opinion, I say keep changing every 3 weeks until you go on the trip, then by the time you get back you can have a period and get back on it.
  14. Thanks a million girly-girls! It figures that today I would be super busy, LOL Thanks for worrying about me! This was such an awesome surprise to come home to! You are the best!
  15. Welcome! The forum is a wonderful resource. Be sure to browse the Jamaica sub-forum. You'll find tons of info on ROR (Riu Ochos Rios). Have fun searching!

  19. Morgan! It's been 9 months since the wedding! I am disappointed you didn't tell us of Niblet's harrowing journey across the border to attend your wedding! I guess anyone can get a pilot's license in Florida! http://www.ferretchick.com/wp-conten...air-ferret.jpg Here is is enjoying the festivities at the reception. Thank goodness he didn't hit the tequila! That could have been ugly. Something Charlie would have done. Oh, and did you hear Charlie is back in the slammer? Poor kid, he's just headed down the wrong road. He won't get any help until he decides to help himself!
  20. Check out Leia's planning thread. Her table numbers were pictures of her dog.
  21. Congrats and Welcome! I was a Jamaica Bride and loved every minute! Have you thought about a resort yet?
  22. I think it's fun! You might also want to think about a scratch off lottery ticket to incorporate the Vegas theme. My cousin had "Lucky in Love" lottery tickets at her wedding and they were a big hit!
  23. This is terrible! I've always really liked her. My thoughts are with her family.
