Need Suggestions on making my Florida wedding work
ErinB replied to SgtPepperette's topic in Florida Weddings
This is just what I found after a quick google search: Florida Wedding Packages: Casa Ybel Resort Official Site Sanibel Island Fort Myers FL Thistle Lodge romantic beach restaurant luxury honeymoons suites harbor island hotels spas vacations planning family getaways group offers This place looks pretty! Sanibel Wedding Services at the Sanibel Siesta Resort A condo resort might be cheaper in the long run. The rates might be lower and you could hire your own vendors instead of going with who the resort uses. Home - Weddings by the Sea Catering Services in Fort Myers, FL on Yahoo! Local You might also want to contact a caterer directly. They will have more info on local venues and may offer planning services. I don't know where you have already looked, so hopefully this isn't duplicate info. You might want to start off the conversation by telling your budget. I know it is a lot easier for me to work with a client when I know what we have to work with. Say you have $2000 for a dinner for 35 is that something they can help you with. It's possible if it is a slow week or a one that isn't booked yet you can get a better deal. -
Need Suggestions on making my Florida wedding work

I have a friend that lives in Ft. Meyers. I'll ask him where people get married. I think food & beverages can be done for $2500. That's $70 per person which is very reasonable for a dinner. A limited bar is a great way to save money! Buffet meals will almost always be cheaper than a served meal. I'll see what I can find out. The wedding date is Oct 14, a Wednesday? Weekdays can be cheaper or easier to negotiate a deal. -

The first 7 are in mass paperback, the 8th just came out in paperback, and the 9th book will be released next week.

FYI - The start date for the new season is June 14, Sunday. I think I'm going to have a permiere party! LOL I've finished the first 9 books and the 10th is due to come out soon. I personally like the series better. There is a lot more charater development. Obviously the books focus on Sookie. I need to go back and re-read the second book to see how the second season follows.

At this point I'm happy with a no gain week. I don't know what I'm going to have to do to kick my ass into high gear?!? In my head I think I want to lose weight, I'm just having a problem with motivation.

I would try TA Maureen or TA Jennifer. They both work with Caribbean properties and Sandals/Beaches properties. And they are both super nice!

Welcome Ashley! You'll find tons of helpful info on the forum! Congrats and happy planning!

Great pics! What the hell were you all doing with the chair on the dance floor? I love the pics with you and Carly and the "reserved" sign on your ass! I agree the reserved should be your new avatar or siggy pic! LOL

Yay! You're wedding is going to be amazing! I can't wait to hear all about it and see pictures, of course. Have a fantastic trip! We'll be waiting to welcome you to the MRS club!

Ugh! Not a good week for me. I had a great start and need to get back to it. I only worked out once and it was a full day of yard work, so not anything like structed in the gym. I did however sweat my ass off! I am super busy this week and probably won't have time to work out either. I'm a chef and do catering and events and am coming up on my busy season - KY Derby and wedding season. It sucks that I have to taste all of the food before it goes out and all of those bites and nibbles add up! I really have to work-out and after a 12+ hour day, that is the last thing on my mind!

try NuBra.com, The Official NuBra Online Store, adhesive bras, silicone bra, silicon bra, backless bra, seamless bra, breast enhancers, padded bra, adhesive bra, unbra, eves bra, no bra, bo bra, natural bra, padded, invisible bra, invisi bra, jml bra, ma or Victorias Secret shapewear for the stick on boobs. They add fullness and have an adjustable clasp so you control the level of lift.

#1 Take a deep breath #2 No matter what, there will be people who can't attend and people who complain. I do not know of a single bride on the forum that hasn't had some kind of guest issue. You will be surprised who doesn't show up and at the ones who do make it. #3 This is YOUR WEDDING! It needs to be what you want. #4 You can offer your guests cheaper hotels, but you need to decide who will end up paying for the day passes and how those guests will get to the resort. Also, the Riu has a policy that 80% of your guests need to be staying at the Riu to host your wedding there. So if you have 20 people total, 16 must stay at the resort. #5 You should try to explain to your guests the value of an AI package. Once I sat down and went through everything that was included people were much more ok with the cost. The package price is the bottom line is a good way to budget instead of a hotel that costs $300 less but then you have to spend and extra $100 per person per day for food and beverages, KWIM? I was married at Couples and they have a little comparison list: Couples Resorts Amazing Inclusions: What is included in your all-inclusive vacation You might be able to use this as a template or guide when explaining. Good luck!

She was Dorothy. Her ex-husband on the show was Sonny Bono. That makes me sad. I loved Golden Girls.

Welcome Tammy! I can't wait to hear about your plans! I've always wanted to go to Barbados!

Hi Mags, Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I noticed that you aren't getting married until 2011. That gives you ample time to do your research and find a TA to help you. From my experience in researching, we could not find an AI in Jamaica with airfare for a full week for less than $1500. We did find a 4 night stay so we offered guests 2 packages - 4 night for $1500 and a 7 night for $2000. I always find that making lists helps me keep track of info and helps me make a decision. Here is the link to my template for the list I used. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t34495 Be sure to search/browse the Jamaica and Wedding Review sub-forums. There is tons of info on Jamaica, including some pricing that could at least give you an idea. I think the problem you will run into is that you cannot get whole package pricing this far in advance. Airlines only develop fares and schedules 9-10 months out and those are still subject to change. If it were me, I'd find a property that I liked and would best meet the needs of your group. Your wedding is special so you should go somewhere you want to be, not just someplace that is a particular dollar amount. You and your guests both have time to start saving. I would send out Save The Date (STD) info and develop a website to keep your guests posted about developments. Heck, you could even have a poll and let your guests decide where you should get married! LOL Good luck in your search!

Congrats Andi! I hope it's the best day ever! I can't wait to hear all about it!

I did round up the price, but not by $50 or $100, we're talking like $10 or so. I think one package price was $1467.82 so I said $1475. With the group rate it was cheaper than if people had booked independently so I wasn't scamming them for money. I had a small cushion of about $300 that went to pay for additional costs so my guests wouldn't have to pay more than the original amount and the published price on my website. Anything that was left over went back into the wedding so all guests could enjoy. I'm OK with that (obviously since I did it, LOL) but I wouldn't raise prices to pay for any specific people.

I wore a slip. Somewhere on the forum is my drama of dyeing it blue, LOL It was an A-line and was $60. By having the added fullness, I didn't have to have the dress hemmed as much so alterations were cheaper. If I had gone too much shorter, the shape of the train would have been altered as well. I also didn't want my dress sticking to me because I knew I would sweat no matter what. I was also told that having a slip made for better outdoor pics because it kept the shape of the dress.
