"Twilight" Series and Movie Discussion--WARNING! Spoilers!
ErinB replied to lovefreddy's topic in Random Thoughts
OMG Savannah! That is the funniest thing I've read in a long while. The post about flatulance cracked me up! Thanks for sharing. -
Yes, that was Asuka and Ricky. I will bet money she makes it on. I don't know about him. I think there are a lot of talented male dancers and they seem to like the bigger/stronger guys who can do the lifts and stuff. When he isn't partnered with her, he isn't very big.

I was late to discover ABDC. But, thanks to a hangover and a marathon, I was able to catch up! The girls were amazing and I LOVE Hoc and Gev. It was like a mini SYTYCD reunion! Who ended up winning, the boys or the girls?
-
DH says he doesn't like the show but he sits there next to me and watches and offers commentary. LOL I DVR it so I can FF thru the commercials so I think that helps. He was freakin out when Natalie danced. SHe was screaming at the tv "she's going home! she's off!" This is a boy who has never danced a day in his life.

I think it was almost unfair to those returning from last year because they had such high expectations for them - Brandon, Natalie, tap girl (can't remember her name) I was trying to figure out who the 20 would be based on my unscientific reasoning based on style, ethnicity, personality I really like Tony. The thing with him is that he is so tall, he hasn't gotten control of his body in different choreography styles, knowing his timing for full extensions, etc. Just a guess but I'll say...and it would be much easier if I knew all of the names... Boys: Tony - hip hop Phillip - popper Asian Ballet Dancer from Miami Brandon - contemporary Maximus? - Latin Ballroom Evan - Broadway Ryan - Evan's Brother - Broadway (also adds to the story line) Pono - the Hawaiian Contemporary guy the African dancer One other guy that kinda looks like Danny from season 3 but I don't know his name Girls: Asuka - Latin Ballroom Kaitlyn Jannette - Latin Ballroom Paris Crap I forgot who the rest of them were. When they were lined up last night I had them all picked out! Sorry, this was a crappy post not knowing everyone's name! LOL BTW, I hate that they do so many interviews with people who don't make it. I think it gives the ones who do an unfair advantage because the audience has gotten a chance to "bond" with them from the beginning. Does it seem that there is a lack of hip-hop dancers? It seems like everyone is contemporary/jazz/lyrical. I know that a lot of dancers are cross trained but don't mention it, but I don't remember any other styles that really stick out from the solos.

"Twilight" Series and Movie Discussion--WARNING! Spoilers!

I like the second song better. I think the reason I wasn't a fan of the "official" lullaby is because of the soundtrack version. DOn't get me wrong, it is a beautiful song, but it is played with a full orchestal background. IMO it needed to be a piano solo. -
I am slightly obsessed with this show. I love Mia, even when she is mean. SHe is the first to say she loves to cut people and she only wants those that are serious, not time waters. I was really sad to see Natalie go. I was surprised they didn't give her a second chance or dance for your life kinda thing. I think they kept Kaitlyn because she was prettier. DH and I were talking last night and they do have a sort of pattern for contestants. Last night one of the judges even said "he'll be good for the show"

Good luck Kelly! I hope you get this house. I know that has been a big point of frustration for you both. I always loved summer classes. It seemed like I needed the fast pace and the extra push to do well. -
"Twilight" Series and Movie Discussion--WARNING! Spoilers!

This is funny and an interesting question: Bill vs. Edward: Who Would Win in a Battle of the Bites? - FEARNet I'm a huge Edward fan but I also love me some Vampire Bill! -
I really look at the book and show as two separate entities. The books are only from Sookie's POV so there isn't much additional character development. The show (Alan Ball) do a great job of adding depth to the story line and taking some liberties with the plot, but in a way that makes sense. For example, I really don't remember Tara from the first book. She was a white girl that Sookie went to HS with, they weren't necessarily best friends. She came from an abusive home, but both the mather and father were the physical abusers. In the show she's a black girl that stayed with Sookie to get away from her alcoholic mom. Jason and Lafayette are hardly in the first book. On the show (first season), there is a little news clip blub in the background on TV that the leader of the Fellowship of the Sun Church was killed but in the books, he is still alive in 2 or 3. I think they also sex up the show. This should be interesting because there is at least one good sex scene in each of the books. #2 is about a demon that is honored by partying and orgies so I can only imagine what will happen on the show. I'm re-reading book 2 now and from what spoilers I've heard from the series, you won't ruin anything. It might give you some clues or general idea of what to expect but nothing more.

Tracey the first few episodes were a little slow but once all of the characters and plot lines are introduced it gets much better. The books are definitely a fun read. You can pick them up at Sam's (the first for $4 each. Book 1 and Season 1 were fairly closely linked so I'm skimming through book 2 now to see how it compares with Season 2. Rachel - my understanding is that the October book is a compilation of all of the stories. A boxed set type thing. I need another book to know what happens next! LOL http://www.charlaineharris.com/

I have been swamped at work since coming back from Memorail Day Vacay. OMG Book 9 was great! I finished it in 2 days! That last paragraph made me crazy! There has to be another book. No way can the series end that way! After reading the series I was Team Eric all the way. Now, I've been re-watching the series on demand and really like Bill and am all confused. LOL The fisrt episode is available "enhanced" on demand, I guess as a promo for the DVDs. Wow, there are so many tiny details that I never noticed. And, it's narrated by Lafayette, who I love. Less than 2 weeks to go!

I was looking at some books on Amazon so I might just go ahead and order it so I get super saver free shipping! LOL Yeah, Abbie and I are like that with books. I sent her my hardcover Twilight so she could finish the series and not have to buy 2 sets of books. #8 wasn't my favorite. I have pretty much read all of the books back to back and by the time I got to 8, I was kind of overwhelmed by all of the characters and trying to remember all of the names, relationships, etc Sometimes, especially with the first 2-3 books the only characters I saw were the ones from the show and I was trying to reconcile the two. I thought #1 followed pretty closely with the series (at least Sookie's storyline) and I am wondering if I should re-read/skim #2 before season #2 starts.
-
fine I'll go get it and send it along when I'm done. (Then go buy a paperback) I'm not a careful reader at all. My compulsion is more about how they are grouped on the shelf. I bought the first 2 Twilight books again in hardcover so they would match the last 2.
-
I don't have #9 yet. I'm a weirdo and like my books to match, so since I have 1-8 in paperback, I don't want to buy 9 in hardback., KWIM? I think I'll get it from the library and buy it to complete teh set next year, LOL!

Would your Dad's entire family come anyway? I know that in the early stages, everyone is all about the wedding and won't miss it for the world. When it comes time to actually put the cash down, the story often changes. Tammy does have a very good point that you don't want to cause a rift in the family that will last much longer than your wedding week. But, I hate to see you stress over something that may or may not happen, KWIM? Having an adult only wedding & resort was very important to us and I understood that I would have some guests unable to attend because they had young children. It wasn't noticeable that children were absent, but it was so nice to not have to think about and notice them. Talk to your dad and get his opinion. If you do want to change resorts, I think switching to an AO for your honeymoon is a great compromise. Good Luck!

Happy wedding day, Jacqueline!!! *quick update #17, pics #22

GORGEOUS!!!! Congrats and welcome to the MRS Club! I can't wait to hear all about it! -
I think it depends on the atmosphere you want. If you want "beach chic" or "simple & elegant" I would go for a regular dinner. If you want a more casual feel then do the pig roast. I went to a pig roast wedding once and it was a little weird because it wasn't what I was expecting. I was in heels and a dress picking meat off a pig, trying not to look it in the face! From a catering standpoint, if you only have 30 or so people it seems like a pig would be a waste of food. A buffet/plated dinner might be cheaper? The bottom line is that it's your wedding. Do what you think will be the most fun. I do like that it ties in with your Hawaii idea.

Great find! I think I might have to get myself a present! Usually I just roll up socks or underwear to stuff teh cups so they don't lose shape.
