  1. That sounds like so much fun! We can't wait for details and pictures!
  2. I used to have this fight nearly every day. FI is one of 3 boys. Between them and dad, his mom gave up on teaching this particular life skill. However, after nearly 6 years, I think I have him trained! It does drive me crazy when we visit his family though... Our next project is "No, toilet paper do not re-generate itself onto the roll..." I just hope that one doesn't take 6 years too!
  3. Really cute idea! A prom party sounds like so much fun! We love theme parties and we haven't done prom before!

  6. Great theory about Michael! Who do you think was in the little coffin at the end of last season? When Jack asked Kate if she went to the funeral?
  7. When you travel, you always take a chance on theft. Like Angela said, you just need to be careful and use some common sense with your valuables. I'm sending a letter to all of my guests about a month before the wedding. It will contain what documents they need to bring, what to expect at the airport, etc. I'm also going to suggest they leave crazy expensive things at home. Be sure you check with the resort before traveling what their policy is on theft. You might want to check into travel insurance and see what coverage is offered. I'm not worried about anything happening.

    Hi all

    Welcome to the forum!
  9. We went with a TA. Looking back, I don't know if it was our best decision. Our thinking was that we had guests coming from all over the country and wanted everyone to pay a fairly even price. Our concern was that Expedia, etc. only has x number of seats at x price. We wanted to be able to say it is $$$ per person to attend. I don't know that our particular agent had ever arranged a wedding before, though she does specialize in group travel. It has been great for her to answer all guest questions and take payments. Our guests will have had a total of 9 months to pay without interest unlike the on-line sites where you have to pay in full when you book. The down side was that a large chunk of FI's family said they were going and have now backed out, 4 months before the wedding. If we can't find other people to fill our group seats, we lose our deposit money. Right now it's looking like $4000. I would say before you make group reservations get a check from each guest and tell them it is non-refundable. That way you have a little extra guarantee. Also be sure you know exactly what the cancellation policies, deposit policies, name change fees, etc. are before you sign a contract.
  10. LOL Rachel! I'm glad you had fun. My personal motto is "thank god you-tube wasn't around during undergrad!" My Bachelorette is coming up soon and I hope we have as much fun as you apparently did!
  11. Wow! The votes are basically split down the middle! I guess we haven't been much help! I do like #2--I love the taffeta. But, I do agree with the others that it would be easier to decide if we saw pictures of you in them!

    Hello Board

Welcome! I'm a Jamaica bride too! There are lots of ROR girls on here to help you out!
  13. I love him! My FBIL never misses an episode. Thanks for sharing! I'll be sure to set DVR right now!
  14. I was seriously going through withdrawals!
  15. Wow Becks! That is one hell of a list! I haven't even started thinking that far ahead! A few weeks ago I was like, "Oh crap! We have to have a ceremony!" Now that I think all of that is worked out I can focus on music. I'm sure at some point in the evening (late, after mucho cocktails, I have a feeling "You never even call me by my name" will be heard. It's a classic that his brothers get drunk and scream along with at weddings. They also have a tendency to pull the "You've lost that lovin' feeling" a la Top Gun at bars. FI really wants Tenacious D "F*** her gently" because 1. He's an idiot and 2. our first date was to a Tenacious D / Kid Rock concert. (We had free tickets)
  16. Welcome home! Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures! Can't wait to hear more!
  17. It's ok Leigh. You can't beat yourself up. Just move forward full steam ahead! We'll be cheering for you!
  18. Welcome and happy planning! You'll find tons of helpful info on here! I'm sure you'll become great friends with the search button!
  19. Welcome! Tell us more about your wedding! And we love pictures!
  20. You know you're addicted when you focus so much on finding things for other BDW brides, you kind of forget you need to plan your own wedding! Oh and I totally use BDW as a reward system at work. I set my kitchen timer in 10 minute intervals when I'm good--call a client, write invoices, etc... Now if only I had the will power to use it as an exercise reward...I'd weigh 17 pounds!
  21. Drea how adorable! I would love to be in bed snuggled with my puppy! He was so cute this morning! I had to go to work early and I truned the light on to grab clothes, well the dog (who thinks it's his bed and he is nice enough to let us sleep there), rolls over and groans and covered his eyes with his paws! You could just hear "Mom, I don't wanna get up!" FI and I refer to each other as Mama and Daddy when talking the dog. Like, "Tell Daddy you need to go outside." Are we freaks or does someone else do this too?
  22. Wow! I am so impressed. If I were making invites (especially as pretty as those) only about 4 people would be invited! LOL
  23. I found this on AOL. And everything on the internet is true! LOL So I'm just an alcoholic... Alcohol may cause hair to gray prematurely Posted: Feb 11th 2008 10:39PM by Chris Sparling Filed under: Food and Nutrition, General Health, Healthy Habits, Women's Health, Men's Health, HealthWatch If you started drinking because you thought it made you look older, you may have been onto something. It turns out that regular boozers have twice the amount of premature gray hair as people who lay off the sauce. According to an article published in the Archives of Dermatology, drinking as few as three drinks per day is enough to affect your hair color. Because alcohol stops the production of pigment-providing stem cells called melanocytes, it's very possible to experience graying at an earlier age. The good news is that the damage does not have to be permanent. If you're graying now, cutting back on your drinking may help stop any further progression and even help restore your natural color.
