  1. Actually I think it counts as public domain at this point. There's a word for this type of word and I can't think of. Something about once a word is entered into vernacular and/or the trademark expires there can be no claim to intellectual property. Coke, Band-Aid, Fridge, etc. Let me know if you're going to turn me in! I'll either get to frame the fancy memo telling me to stop using Kleenex with out whispering TM or I'll have to move to Brazil where there is no extradition! LOL
  2. Thanks Tammy I was thinking about TA Jennifer. Unfortunately we had already booked when I found BDW. I knew they were different depts. I thought I had made the proper arrangements but was apparently lost in the shuffle when the new girl took over.
  3. MyKleenexTissue.com Canvas This is kind of neat. You can make your own designer Kleenex boxes! There are like a billion different designs a color combos. Aqua, Lime, and Hot Pink - all popular colors within this group! They are a little pricey at $5 per box but I thought about getting one for my mom the crier or putting one at the end of each row of chairs...Possibly OOT bags Here's a quick, cheesy example
  4. St. Pattys would be fun! It's my favorite holiday! Easter is so early this year it might get expensive to do both. I think the gag gift for April Fools Day would be pretty funny too! No one would have to come up with a wish list! Then we would all be secret fools!
  5. I would try Trashy Lingerie. They have great stuff and really fun costumes. Some stuff is really pricey but super high quality and they also have lots of bargain costumes and accessories. Trashy.com - Lingerie - panties - hosiery - swimsuit models - sexy lingerie - Welcome to Trashy Lingerie ! This one is only $36
  6. Small update... They "found" our room reservations. But you have to schedule weddings and rooms separately. I went through and printed all e-mail correspondence and typed a "speech" with points I want to bring up. I just couldn't handle anything today because I was so mad I was shaking! The on-site coordinator is still there, Tamekia, I'm dealing with the state-side coordinator, Debbie. I plan to give her supervisor/director of customer relations/president, the highest person I can find on the totem pole and get this resolved tomorrow! My wedding is 4 months from today! We aren't booked through them directly Tammy, we are going through my travel agent who used Northwest Vacations. I have issues with them too but none as huge as this! I was going to PM you to see if you had any particular advice or contact person.

    hola!

Welcome to the forum! We'll be glad to help!
  9. Welcome! You are smart to start planning early!!!
  10. Welcome and Happy Planning! I'm sure you will find tons of helpful information!
  11. I've have gone through every single e-mail, too bad I don't have transcripts of the phone conversations--silly me didn't think I'd need them! There is no specific yes/no from either coordinator in any of the e-mails though there was verbal confirmation. She took everything over the phone. However, I make reference to the wedding date and time in every single e-mail. They all say This is Erin, CSA, June21, 4:00 pm. I feel like at some point if my reservation was not there she could have said, hey I don't have you in that time slot on that day, etc. And, I talked to her on the phone yesterday to confirm. That was the first time she EVER mentioned I was not on the schedule. SO I re-submitted all info and my credit card number. So she had the info yesterday. But I guess she tried to charge it today and had a problem with the number and while all of this was taking place, the other couple took my spot!

    Hello!

Welcome to the Forum! You wedding will be here before you know it!
  14. Yes I sent invites out! I calmly told her I had already spent $20,000 on this wedding so it would be what I wanted, not counting the money I would spend for ceremony decor and the reception etc. there. SHe said "Well, I don't know why you would have printed invitations..." If I could have reached through the phone I would have smacked her!
  15. Yeah I would fire the coordinator if she were with an outside agency, but nope, she's with the resort. They have our room reservation, but not the wedding reservation. There was another coordinator that I originally worked with who is no longer there and that is apparently when the reservation was lost. She basically told me this was my fault for not following up accordingly and noticing that my credit card was never charged. Our only options are to take the 10 am slot or change resorts, but then "we don't know what rooms will be avaiable there..."
  16. So... The resort wedding planner had not gotten back to me with the new menu options for a private dinner. I'm clicking through the web-site yesterday trying to find them, but no luck so I called the wedding coordinator. I also noticed that the 4pm slot was still open on the wedding calendar and that was our spot Debbie and I were discussing menus, etc. when she mentions that the new price is $75 per person! WHen we contracted it was $35 per person! That is over double the price! Needless to say I was not happy. Then, she proceeds to tell me that they don't have my reservation! We put a deposit down in F-ing November! We're holding 20 rooms! They can't find the F-ing reservation! So, since I have no reservation, I have no wedding time either! So she took our reservation etc. THen, about 10 minutes ago I get an e-mail that my wedding time isn't available -- someone online "snuck in" and reserved our spot. The only available time is 10am! I called immediately! And then she informs me that the other couple isn't planning on bringing down any guests so maybe they will move. Damn straight they are going to move! SHe is going to call the resort and "see what they can do" I think I need to go raid the liquor shelf before I kill someone!

    Hello!

Welcome and Happy Planning! Keep us posted as you get more details!
  18. There is a huge ice storm moving in so I decided to send all of my staff home. It's about their safety of course, but also because I need to make some plans and hang out on BDW!
  19. I think you do need to send the obligatory invite just to keep the peace. This just happened to me recently, where 2 of us were invited and 2 not. It don't go over well with the other 2.
  20. Those are my exact dresses. Mori Lee does run small. Most of my girls went up at least 1 size but most went up 2. I think a lot of it depends on her build. When the store takes the measurements you choose the size that matches the largest part of your body. So if you need a 16 in the chest and a 14 in the waist, you go with the 16. The dress has side seams so they are easy to alter. If you are worried about cost, I would have them call local seamstresses now to get rates and schedule fittings. Our dresses won't be in until mid-APril but we have all already made the appointments. I even met my lady at the bridal store so she could see the dress and give me a more accurate quote. Hope that helps!
  21. I think the flame is more fun, but if you want your girls to wear them again, they might get more use out of the espresso IMO. I know I would, but then again I cannot pull off orange. I don't think the fabric has to match and if it does it's no big deal. My girls and I both have chiffon dresses. I like that the two are kind of tied into one another. If your heart is set on Turquoise you could always go to David's Bridal. I wasn't a fan of their bridal gowns but I do think they are a great place for BM dresses. **No offense to any ladies who purchased from Davids...I just had a horrible experience there!
  22. AJ- That sounds like what I would like to do! My FI really wants us to move back to Kansas City where he is from. I'd like to stay in the hospitality industry and would love to work with sport teams! Most of my family is from the Detroit area so I know exactly where you are!
  23. What a cute surprise! I say go for it if you think he will like it!
  24. Welcome! Anywhere in the tropics always has a chance of rain. The showers are usually short though. If you are really worried about hurricanes be sure to get trip insurance.
