    Hi Everyone

Welcome! Wow, your wedding is only a few months away!
  4. Welcome to the forum! Careful or you'll get addicted (like the rest of us!)

They were just as described and arrived very quickly. I'd do business with them again.

Welcome! The wedding will be here before you know it! We looked at Runaway Bay when we were choosing a resort. I've heard it is great since all of the renovations are completed!
  7. Welcome! My wedding is only 2 days after yours, but we're at Couples Swept Away!

    welcome to the forum!
  9. That is really common. Before you sign anything, have a clear understand of the cancellation policy. So, if you only have 40 guests you know where the extra money goes!
  10. Welcome! I'm a Jamaica bride so I'm a little biased! I'm sure you'll find lots of helpful information on the forum!
  11. I think I need to go back on anti-depressants. I'm starting to cave under the pressures of the wedding. I sincerely hope that our married life will be better than our lives have been since the wedding planning started. I used to take Paxil but I swear it made me crazier than I already was. No one told me you couldn't drink with the stuff! I still suffer black outs when I drink because of that! I apparently tried to swallow a whole bottle of Xanax after drinking a bottle of Jack Daniels one night. FI caught me in time. Because of this I am really scared to go back on them! My best friend, who threw a hissy fit because I didn't ask her to be a BM, informed me last night that she doesn't think she can afford to come to the wedding! The money is due April 1st! WTF?!? Having a DW has really made me re-think who my true friends and family are. I have planned this whole wedding by myself. Everyone wants to help but only on their terms! My feeling is if you haven't helped, don't bitch about my decisions!
  12. I think that is a great age. I've seen so many weddings where the little kids freak out! I'm sure your niece will be happy to get a pretty dress and be included, regardless of what her title is.

  16. Here are some cute Wedge Sandals on clearance for $4.99 at Victoria's secret right now. They would be perfect for brides using hot pink, orange and lime! Just thought I'd share! Might work for OOT bags too! Here's the link: Victoria's Secret
  17. You can't go wrong with Reggae or the Beach Boys!
  18. We're doing them for either the bar or the dessert buffet at our AHR. I want something with a cute saying. I like "Eat, drink, and be married" and I've seen the Rita Rudner quote: Men with pierced ears are best prepared for marriage. They have experienced pain and bought jewelry."
  19. Old Navy has a whole section of really cute white dresses right now, I think all of them are under $50. David's isn't my favorite place but they do have a great selection of BM dresses. I think this is a very reasonable request and if it is what you want, you need to stick with it!
  20. From my understanding, the location and flowers can be chosen when you arrive. I think most of us forget that weddings are the job of the resort so they have a system that works. I would however, try to go ahead and make reservations at the salon ASAP. Our resort will allow us to make reservations 2 weeks out for the spa, restaurants, etc.
  21. We are having an upscale cocktail party as our AHR. I would definitely have food available as soon as your guests arrive. As an event planner trust me when I say that even though this is casual to you, your guests will most likely treat this as an event, especially if they didn't travel! Think about it...they have set aside the night, possibly dressed up a little, hired a babysitter, and brought you a present. You should have a few "structured" events to help the evening flow. I would suggest cutting the cake around 8 and then having a formal introduction and a first dance to open the dance floor. Our video is going to be shown on a loop so people can watch whenever they want. I would also look into hiring a catering company to provide servers that will clean as the evening goes on. You don't want to get stuck doing these tasks after such a long night of entertaining! If you hire a bartender you won't have to worry with underage drinking and can pass along the liquor liability. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me!
  22. I love that dress! I think any tropical color would look good, but the white/cream would be a nice contrast. You can always had the bouquets tied with a bright ribbon. Here is a tropical bouquet I think is beautiful:
