  1. I like the look of the sun, but the hearts are cute since your wedding day will be Valentine's Day. What are your wedding colors?
  2. I don't know why I didn't think of this before! FI and I have been thinking we would offer a charity a donation in the name of our wedding instead of buying little favors for 300 guests. Well, we've found our charity! Thanks to TammyB's post a light bulb just went off in my brain. I'd like to donate to Kentucky Lab Rescue, Inc.. We briefly worked with them when we were considering getting Harley a new brother or sister but our landlord at the time wouldn't let us have any more pets. I talked with them on the phone and we corresponded via email. Does anyone know how you check up on a shelter? We had a great experience with them, but you always hear horror stories. I'm scared to do a site visit because I will try and take every dog there home with me! And the shelter is about 2 hours away!
  3. Yea! See, things happen the way they are supposed to happen! I'm so happy for you! You've already done so much work, you just need to tweak the details now!
  4. This is the list I am using as a guideline. I think Paula's is more comprehensive but I think that this one tells you how many things to pack. I usually do a good job, except in the underwear department. I don't know why I think I cannot leave my house overnight without 15 pairs of panties! Brides Magazine recommends the following for one bag/one week: 1 Lightweight Jacket or Sweater 2 Pair Casual Pants / Jeans 7 Casual Tops/T-Shirts 2 Casual Skirts/Shorts 2 Sundresses 2 Evening Outfits or 1 Suit 8 Pair Underwear 3 Bras (including strapless if needed) 2 Swimsuits 1 Beach Cover-up (Sarong, Tunic, etc.) 1 Hat 1 Beach Bag 4 Pair Socks 1 Pair Athletic Shoes 1 Pair Casual Sandals/Flip-Flops 1 Pair Dress Shoes (these must be closed toed for men) 1 Evening Bag 1 Evening Cover-up/Shawl 2 Sets Work out Clothes 1 Toiletry Bag with Sunscreen & Bug Spray
  5. Welcome! We'd love to hear more details about your wedding! Have fun searching the forum!
  6. Happy Wedding Rachel! I hope it's even better than you've imagined! I can't wait to hear all about it and of course, see pictures!
  7. That is so something FI would do!!! He makes me crazy! He doesn't want to hire a housekeeper because he thinks we (particularly me) should be able to handle the house work. 60 hours is a slow week for me! Plus training at the gym, wedding planning, etc... I'm with Maura, I'd have the friend come over and have it be done. I'm sure Everton would be a little upset but I'm sure once he saw how excited Bria was he'd get over himself.
  8. I don't know of any that will waive the supplement. I'm actually pretty impressed that it is only $500! Most of the AIs base their pricing on getting a certain amount for each room, regardless of how many people are in it! Our single rate is only $150 cheaper than double occupancy! Can any of your singles room together?
  9. I waited really long to order my dress. It's not due to arrive until May 25th and we leave June 16th! AHHHHH! I heard a great packing tip...Turn your dress inside out so if anyone who inspects the dress (because you have to carry it with you!) won't get it dirty! This also keeps FI from sneaking a peek!

  12. Welcome! Your location sounds great! I'd love to see pictures!
  13. Welcome! We've been together for 6 years too! Don't let the stress of planning get you down. If nothing else the two of you can elope to Dreams!
  14. And, our bed is HUGE! It's a California King! But, FI is 6'5" and 375#, the dog is about 5' long and 100#, and then there's me short and wide. We can't have kids because there won't be room for them! LOL
  15. Welcome to the forum. There is a Hawaii section you should search!
  16. Ok, so I think Harley is beyond help. He definitely thinks he's human! So FI decided to take a picture of why he got kicked out of bed last night...Apparently we took over!
  17. It was the company our TA uses. I think it is Trip Mate? Here is the link to our coverage: NWA WorldVacations, Travel Protection Plan as of 07/07
  18. If you don't have a date, I would send out an engagement announcement. That way you can say you are planning a DW in May, info and invitaitons to follow. You should go ahead and get a web-site going so you can add details as you figure out what they are, and get your guests used to checking it!
  19. I would strongly recommend it, even if it is just for you and your bridal party. Our resort doesn't accept shipments of any kind so we have to bring everything down with us. The lost luggage coverage is worth it! Our insurance is only $60 per person.
  20. I guess it depends on why the other guests weren't invited. Did they tell you they weren't coming? DId you only invite family? You are only supposed to invite wedding guests to a shower, but it sounds like your mom wants you to have some kind of big party! I would feel a little awkward if I were invited to a shower, but not a wedding. I would say if friends who aren't going volunteer a small, intimate shower is fine but a big one might be taken the wrong way. Have you thought about making it a co-ed shower, with all of your wedding guests?
  21. Welcome! There is a whole sub forum devoted to Jamaica and one to Sandals! I'm sure you'll find lots of info!
  22. Welcome to the forum!
  23. Welcome to the forum! Aruba sounds wonderful! We're definitely going to add that to our list of places to go! I can't wait to hear all about your resort & wedding!
  24. I just did ribbon and skipped the tag. I was running into the same problem and I figured they knew who's wedding they we attending. We already have programs and tissue packs with our names on them.
