  1. And here's today's! "From Brides As an alternative to the traditional bridal bouquet, try carrying a wreath, a candle, a lantern or even a prayer book." Um, I don't know about carrying a lantern...THose options above sound more like a first communion or a virgin sacrifice!
  2. It looks like a fun shower. The cake and cookies looked yummy-- I want one right now! You and your sister are both beautiful!
  3. Welcome! Have fun searching the forum! Let us know how we can help.
  4. They aren't bad! I actually looked at the same invites but only decided against them because I really wanted an aqua pocket/jacket. Could you get a sparkly something to cover up the seashell to get them a little more omph? You could also wrap them in ribbon or something. Sorry I'm not exactly the DIY queen! LOL but you get what I'm saying!
  5. I'm getting married there June 21st. We're doing the reception at Patois because the private reception was going to be too expensive. I think we'll go ahead and have cake and champagne and a few hors d'oeuvres right after the ceremony and take pictures. The sunset package wasn't worth the extra money to me. There weren't that many things that I would need. A cake server and robes aren't important and just one more thing I'd have to pack and take home. I would also suggest checking out the Couples message boards for more info. It's on their website. I have lots of info, a pre-travel booklet, etc if you are interested send me your e-mail and I will share. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions! Erin

I was a little worried about being able to get an appointment. Also, what are you doing for your reception? Will you do the all-inclusive thing (make a reservation for all guests to dine next to each other) since it's paid for or pay extra? I'm in limbo about what I want to do. Our wedding is a Friday night and that's the night of the beach party, so that means no private beach dinner for my guests. Any suggestions? We're taking the free option. The private reception is indoors in the ballroom. I could have that type of reception here! Also, the price kept increasing. Last year when I started it was $35 per person, this year it jumped to $75 per person and then on April 1 it goes up to $95 per person. I can't justify $3500 for a reception! We'll have dinner at Patois on lobster night (Saturday). I'm kinda bummed I can't decorate or anything, but then again it does save money! I can use what I would have spent to upgrade the ceremony. If you have any other questions feel free to PM me! I've got a great pre-travel booklet I'm sending to all of my guests if you're interested I'mm be more than happy to e-mail it!

LOL I think I'll have to wait until our anniversary to be skinny enough to do a BD book but I really want to now! PS. I think it was decided somewhere that we are Picture Sluts. Whores get paid and we are shamelessly begging!
  8. I'm getting married at Couples Swept Away. So far they have been great to work with. The only snags we have run into were fixed immediately and mainly were caused by the size of our group (30+). It is very natural looking, not like a super huge resort, that was one of my requirements too! TA Jen wrote a great review here http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t12426 There is a great post (that I of course cannot find) that has pictures of every resort in the Caribbean! I would also check out the message boards on the Couples website. I found some helpful reviews and info there.
  9. I'm SO SORRY Ann! I really thought I e-mailed you! I'll do it as soon as I get home! Betsy -- Who would be mad?!?!? It's so exciting that your wedding is so close! I have decided I have to completely cut out sweets. I have no will power! I did find giving them up for Lent but now it's like 1 bite won't hurt...WRONG! and 1 bite turns into a whole cookie! On Monday I'm getting myself a boot-camp style personal trainer. It might take me a few weeks, but I'll catch up!
  10. I don't understand how to use the Knot! I don't like things that make me feel stupid! LOL I occasionally use brides.com too.
  11. Welcome to the forum! Good luck with all those kiddos too!
  12. There is a new cake mix by Pilsbury that I am in love with! It's reuced sugar made with Splenda. You cannot tell a difference. There is 50% less sugar than a normal cake. It might be worth a shot to try in this recipe!
  13. "Lost airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. The series was renewed for seasons 4 through 6, each containing 16 episodes. The series will conclude at the end of Season 6. Due to the strike, 13 of the 16 episodes ordered for this season will be completed. The number of episodes not produced this season will roll-over unto the next. " Production resumed March 10th. There are 5 episodes left this season: April 24 May 1 May 8 May 15 (finale part 1) May 22 (finale part 2)

She gave herself up at the end. It's all to get Ben. But then again, he did say that if they had her it would be bad so maybe he set her up! He never did like the boyfriend. I don't remember, did he steal Alex when she was a baby? I think the Captain knows what is going on and Sayid was testing him to see how much he would reveal.
  15. Great site! Thanks for sharing! I'd love to get an aisle runner! I might have to double check the budget!
  16. I haven't worn pantyhose in year! There is no way I am wearing them on my wedding day! Comfort is the goal--I've got boyshorts and might not even wear a bra. I'd say you are fine to skip the hose!
  17. Heidi, those are amazing! Your guests are going to be so excited to open them! Did you print them yourself or have someone else do them? I've been searching for flat invite cards with an elegant plam tree! Do you mind sharing your info?
  18. Girls' weekends are the BEST EVER! Have a wonderful time! I'm jealous, I'd love to be off to some place warm and sunny right now! Think of how excited FI and the puppies will be to see you when you get home!
  19. I'm having a friend make a necklace for my mom to match her dress. We really don't have any extra money right now! I'm personally paying for about 1/2 of the wedding myself--our joint savings account is going towards a house. I agree that a heartfelt note and a photobook after the wedding would be a great gift!
  20. Welcome to the forum! There is a ton of info on the RM. I'd suggest searching around for a while!
  21. Yari! I'm so sorry! Post pictures tonight and hopefully they won't be so bad! What would it cost to have them re-done with Prim & Pixie? Is it really worth it? You could always send the ugly invites out to extended family and friends and just make/order a few pretty ones for those close to you!
  22. In word you need to right click on the image and it should bring up the format menu. You want to choose the 3rd tab LAYOUT and select behind text.
  23. I loved ewedding eWedding.com. It was free with an option to purchase if you want your own site name, youandme.com. There are like 100 templates to choose from. All you have to do is fill in boxes. It's also very easy to update. Feel free to check my site out: www.ewedding.com/sites/ErinandMike08
