  1. Try Welcome to CasaBlancaBridal.com. It is where I got my dress. Most are under $1000, but are made like couture gowns. They have great detailing on the back (both of these are low V) and all come with bustles so that it one less alteration you have to pay for! If you don't like the train, you can always have it cut off! Stlye#1899 Style #1860 Good luck!

    Hi there

Welcome to the forum! Bali sound so romantic and exotic! Congratulations, I'd love to hear all about it.
  3. I always thought it was 6 months to send thank-yous. I got my first shower thank yous done after a week. I've only received one wedding gift, but the giver is supposed to come to my AHR. My plan was to send thank yous out immediately, just to stay on top of things but now I don't know. I guess I'll see if it becomes an issue!
  4. Pretty! I love the script! Mine is more plain, though I did cover it with sparkles!
  5. Welcome to the forum! There are so many great locations it's hard to decide. I would suggest making a wish list--price range, AI, adult vs. kid friendly, etc. That should help eliminate some choices. I figure I might not know what I want, but it helps to know what I don't want! Good Luck!
  6. That's really pretty! It will be perfect for the beach! Is it taffeta?
  7. I LOVE HEART LOVE "My Big Fat Redneck Wedding" not because I want ideas, it's just interesting to say the least. My personal fav was the bride screaming " Whar's ma teeth? I cain't git married witout ma teeth!" I'm from the south so it's ok for me to laugh. I also really like Rich Bride, Poor Bride. Being in the event business,I see so many people think that weddings are free! You can get flowers for $200 and food for $10 a plate and it will still look like the wedding from Martha Stewart. I like the reality aspect of it.
  8. I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but you could also use blue Kool-Aid. That would definitely be the cheapest option!
  9. I love them! That's the palm tree I want! White Aisle uses it in the Miami collection!
  10. Amy it looks like you got some great stuff! We can't wait to hear details!
  11. What cute babies! No matter how old they are they are still babies! LOL I want some! Rachel--I'm fascinated by all of the new baby gadgetry! It kinda makes you wonder how any of us lived past 5! My walker was a collapsible mess of metal, with a tiny fabric seat and wheels! Yep, I did go crashing down the stairs.

    Hello Everyone!

Welcome! You'll find all kinds of info on here, especially about Cabo!
  13. I didn't go through it myself, but I did read and re-read each paper about 15 times! LOL I also volunteer at her school, so I knew each of the students she was talking about. It's so hard because the questions are so vague and a lot of times you feel like you say the same thing over again! Also their guidelines are so strict! Measuring each page for the correct margin with a ruler, all of the paperwork! I guess it is better than going for the extra Masters classes though!
  14. I wasn't horrible but not great either. THe best thing I did was share entrees and reduce portion size. My MOH got some bad news about her son--he apparently is severely developmentally delayed in fine motor skills, visual motor skills, and some other stuff I've never heard of. She's in TX and wanted to get drunk long distance, so we did! Like the good ol' days. I'm determined to start tomorrow off right. We're going to the gym at 6 before work (no more I'm too tired) and I've written a menu of foods for tomorrow. I need to expand it for the rest of the week once we get to the grocery. Good Luck Ladies!
  15. Rachel you looked beautiful! I hope everyone has as much fun at my wedding as your guests did at yours. Also, thanks for the BM tips...wear panties, don't be stupid. Any others?
  16. My cousin had little bells at each place setting that you rang. There was a little poem...I'll see if I can find it.
  17. One of my best friends just mailed hers off Friday! Unfortunately, she didn't pass last year (by 2 points!) so she had to re-do 2 pieces. I've been through it twice, so I feel your pain! I hope it all goes well for you! Here in KY, there is a large pay increase. I forget what the one time bonus is but I know the salary goes up about $300 per month. The state also reimburses you all of the cost of the program.

I'm sure you'll find tons of helpful info on here! Once you choose a venue everything else will fall into place! Good luck and happy planning!
  19. I tried 3 Targets today and no luck. However, I did go to Sam's and they had a 3 pack of Kodak 27 exposure, with flash, 800 speed film for $9, making them $3 each. I went ahead and got them!
  20. One of my prep cooks hated veggies too. She would sprinkle a little sugar over EVERYTHING before she would eat it! LOL
  21. Try "Deceptively Delicious" or "The Sneaky Chef"
  22. Half of our guests are arriving with us, the others later in the week. I plan to have the bags for those traveling with us made up and hand them out that night. For the rest of the guests, I'll keep everything in bulk and package them the evening we arrive. I figure with the bridal party helping me this will only take a few minutes. Then, Wednesday morning I'll drop them off at the front desk with the guests' names and the staff will pass them out as the guests check in. There isn't a fee to do this.
  23. There is a cookbook by Jessica Seinfeld (I think) that is a children's cookbook. All of the recipes are very recognizable foods, but she hides veggies in them. You might want to give that a shot. Can you eat raw veggies? I know a lot of people don't like cooked ones, but usually because they have been served the wrong way--cooked to death. Try raw with a low-fat dip or hummus or just lightly steamed.,
