  1. Tammy I'm so sorry! At least she is going to a new family that will love her and you guys have the opportunity to help other animals. It takes a special person to so selflessly love these foster animals and offer not only your home but your heart. Big Hug!
  2. I LOVE TO LAMINATE! I also really need to get a life! I decided to do a very thorough Pre-Travel packet for all of the guests who are traveling with us. It includes things about our flight, packing guidelines, navigating the airport, what to expect upon arrival, things to do at the resort, extra excursions and pricing, map of Negril, etc. The thing is 15 pages! **Shout out to Mo and Angie from Couples for providing me with templates! And Petals for finding the Negril map.* If anyone is interested in a template PM me. So, each guest will get 1 or 2 luggage tags that are personalized in their packet. Here's my supplies: Here's the finished product. I used bikini girl and Red Stripe for the single guys. Here's the giant envelopes to hold all this stuff: I figured I still had stamps and ink, so why not add a little flair! I figure they worked out to be about $0.75 each (not counting the cost of the laminator or the value of labor.) Here's my how-to: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-tags-how.html
  3. So for those of you ordering/ordered the flashy ice cube things, how many did you get? If they are $2 each do you give each person 3 or did the bar staff put them in the drinks? I'm intrigued.
  4. We are renting this house until we buy our own home so I will have to call the landlady to see what is covered. Stupid people!
  5. Congrats! I think we probably are outfitting our guys in the same suits! LOL Our are silk khaki from MW. I think FI will look great in the "blush" color! I love GMs in colors. Our guys are wearing pale aqua shirts and we are skipping the ties. I figure wearing a suit on the beach is torture enough for them! FYI--I don't know if it is because we are ordering multiple suits, but we were quoted a sale price of $188.
  6. This is the Tiffany Blue dress according to the website. This is what color the dress really is, a light aqua. This is the dress 2 of my smaller BMs will wear. The MOH dress isn't in yet. This is the TIffany dress with a swatch of the turquoise. It really is what you would think turquoise is, a vibrant blue. Definietly not teal!
  7. Trisha! Your pics are beautiful! You guys both have amazing bodies! If I looked like that, I'd be naked all the time! Everyone looked like they had a fantastic time. The wedding video was great. I tried to talk FI into doing that but the said no--party pooper! Congrats on being a MRS!!!!
  8. My FI is wearing a tan suit with a white shirt, no tie, and white single orchid bout. The GMs are wearing the same tan suit with a aqua shirt, no tie, and small double orchid bout. I'm trying to organize a planning blog and will post pictures soon!
  9. I'm way too much of a Virgo to have un-organized information. I really think this will help me get a better grasp on where I am in the planning process with only 2 months to go! My dress: Casablanca #1894, Spring 08 Collection in White. I'm a little freaked out because it isn't due to arrive until May 25! We leave June 15! Not much time for alterations http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...ynn2/dress.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e.../dressback.jpg FI's Suit. Joseph & Feiss Resort Three-Button, Non-Vent,Tan Silk Suit. $200 from Men's Warehouse. http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...n2/boysuit.jpg The Groomsmen will wear the same suit but with light aqua shirts and no ties. Still trying to decide on shoes. http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e.../aquashirt.jpg
  10. I like the coral. That is actually the same dress my MOH will wear! I would go with something in the warm family--a lighter pink/rose, coral, orange, etc. just so it ties in with the rest of the bridal party. Although the turquoise would be a nice complimentary color especially if you could find a shirt that ties in all of the colors. So, I don't know if that helped. I guess I did rule out the chocolate and the grape! LOL
  11. So Niblet was in the Navy! That explains how he acquired his super powers! There must have been some radiation leaked from the nuclear reactor! PS--I really can't believe Jean-Marcus hasn't joined in on the ferret fun. Maybe he's just partial to goats...
  12. And then the little bastard(s) stole all of our lawn equipment 2 mowers, the pressure washer, the blower, the weed eater, and FI's tool box. We're talking a minimum of $800 to replace everything but probably closer to $1000! I am so PISSED! I don't understand stealing and it freaks me out because our garage is separate from our house and our entire yard is fenced--this wasn't an easy task. Also, the big door doesn't open so you have to enter from the side. I feel violated. Would it be bad for us to register at Home Depot now? We already have the other big registries at Macy's, Dillards, and BB&B. I don't want to seem greedy but we really don't have any extra money!

    Hiya!

Welcome to the forum! You'll find tons of info on Jamaica!
  15. I'm a CSA bride but the wedding is still 2 months away. PM me if you have any specific questions and I'll do my best to answer them. TA Jennifer has been to both properties and posted a great review: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t12426 She would be the one to ask. We ended up choosing CSA because it is newer and we have single guests coming and CSA is the only resort to offer double bed rooms. My understanding is that CN has a bigger pool but CSA has a large sports and fitness complex that a lot of our guests will use. I would also suggest reading the forums on the Couples site Jamaica Resorts: Couples Resorts - All-Inclusive Resorts: Jamaican. They are very active and have a whole wedding section. Many past brides have posted reviews and pictures. A good thing about Couples in general is that they really encourage repeat business, so lots of people on the boards have been to more than one Couples property. If you guys want to wait until June we could meet there!
  16. I can't speak for the water conditions as I haven't made the trip (yet). I do get a little seasick though. My past experiences with catamarans hasn't been bad. I do ok as long as I have access to fresh air--I can't be in a cabin at all! You can always take a half a dramamine or chew some crystallized ginger.
  17. Cute dress! Does your FI already have his suit? The GMs could try and find matching suits or just wear khaki pants and a linen shirt. If you want something funkier, have them get matching tropical print shirts that will go with the dresses and tie in your colors. Search the forum for menswear or GM attire, etc. for examples. Try this one: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1058 You might start on the last page and work backwards for more current info on what is available, sales, etc.

Welcome to the forum! It's quite addictive!
  21. Welcome! It's great that you're here to offer advice! I'm sure the other ROR brides will appreciate it!
  22. Because our GMs are brothers we are buying their suits. Right now Men's Warehouse is having a great sale. It would be $210 for us to rent them for the week or $180 to buy...This way the guys can wear their suits to our AHR.
  23. Welcome! You can always check out the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Since they are US territories I think the paperwork might be easier. I know you don't have to have passports.
  24. I ended up changing resorts. I think if you have the time to do it and put a positive spin on it, your guests will understand. My original resort did the same thing, dropped in rating, TripAdvisor slammed it, etc. My guests were starting to call to ask if I had read the horrible reviews and if I had heard anything different. To top it off, NO ONE from the property would call me back, even in the corporate office but they were demanding a contract be signed. I ended up talking to a TA that had visited several properties in Jamaica and she suggested Couples. We ended up only saving about $100 per person but this resort has so many more included activities! If you can find a cheaper resort that will still meet your needs, I say go for it! A lot of guests (family & friends) I REALLY thought would be at my wedding can't because of the price. Looking back, it would have meant more to me to have our family & friends than a mini-bar and beachfront rooms. Just my $.02. When I told our guests, I simply said we had found a better price at a different resort that had more amenities.
