For Sale: Blue Nile Platinum Bracelet
ErinB replied to ShelbyFL's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
Shelby, you should PM Alyssa, the Mod. She owns a company that buys precious metals. Check it out! Pretty Penny Party - Parties that Pay! Sell Your Gold Jewelry and make money! I believe she is doing a party for another BDW member and you have the option of sending pieces in. -
I agree that Phillip has a huge following and it is amazing to watch him do his own style! I think Caitlyn is a good dancer. Because she was a gymnast she can do some really great jumps and atheletic moves. If she gets her own dance choreographed for her it will be good. Also, I guess they have backup dancers for larger numbers. I haven't seen the live show so I am just going with what I've heard. So Phillip and Caitlyn might be more background, kwim? Is Evan's brother a finalist for next year? I thought he just made it through to Vegas.

Great find Kathy! I'm scared for Kayla and Evan but it will be interesting to see Travis' choreography! I think my Gay BF Kupono could be the surprise for the night. He does so well at playing dark and twisty characters, perfect for the Paso Doble! It will be interesting to see what Jeanette does with Hip Hop. The last routine that she did, she was really more of a rock star that hard core hip hop. But, Nappy Tabs could pull off some lyrical piece like Courtney & Mark from last year. has anyone else noticed the lack of Hip Hop? There has be no Krump, but that would pretty much be the nail in the coffin for anyone who drew it in this group!

Reception back home after DW
ErinB replied to amber792002's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Hi ladies! Be sure to search/browse the AHR subforum. AHR - Best Destination Wedding Forum All of your questions should be answered! You can read reviews, see pictures (yay!), and get some great ideas. AHRs range from backyard BBQs to grand 300 person events. -
I too thought last night's episode was a little slow. I haven't decided if it really is slow or if I am just impatient. I am very interested to know what is up with Daphne, yet another character not from the book! LOL And was it me or did she have disappearing claw marks? When she was skinny dipping, holy crap, but at the party she had that low strapless dress. During the orgy scene I kept thinking how pissed Sookie would be that people were tearing up her Gran's house and bangin' on the furniture. I wonder if/when Tara will find the gift from her mom. Lisa - if I had the book I would send it to you. I ended up borrowing it from a friend who read it in one sitting! Alcide shows up in book 3. The weres are introduced at the end of book 2 so we might get to see them this season.

ErinB replied to moepeedy's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
Wow! That's all I can say! YOu really put a lot of thought and effort into every aspect of your wedding! I especially love the table numbers! I might have to steal that idea! -
Oh I've got a million of them. Some I can't post on the internet for the whole world to see, LOL Here is me trying to cool down with my dress hiked all the way up Then we have the boys violating the bouquets There weren't as many pic from the wedding night as there were from our week stay. Things got a little crazy with our group! LOL

I hope you two have the best day ever! Happy Anniversary!

So You Think You Can Dance - So You Think You Can Dance Tour 2009 Here is the list of tour dates and cities. Looks like Indy for me!

OMG Lisa! Did you read the latest book yet? I have a ridiculous crush on Eric now! I am so excited to have a new episode this weekend! Doing re-runs because of the holiday weekend was BS! LOL Were the werewolves in book 2? I thought they didn't show up until 3. I read them all back to back so I get them confused. I guess I need to google!
-
I really like Caitlyn for some reason. I guess maybe I have a similar goofy personality and make weird noises like she does, LOL With that particular bottom 3, there really wasn't anyone else to send home. I knew it was time for Phillip to go but he had a great attitude! It's great that they will both be on the tour! I really need to see if they will be anywhere close so I can get tickets! I agree that it will be interesting to see what happens now that the power couples and Randi & Evan are broken up. Randi will do better because she is a little girl so she can be paired with anyone. She might look odd with Kupono because he is the tallest (I think). Evan will pretty much have to be paired with Jeanette. I think she is the only other relatively short girl. He doesn't have the strength to do the lifts, IMO, though I could be wrong.

I agree that shipping back and forth could be expensive and kind of a pain. Why not check out E-bay or Craig's List? You can always sell the shoes when you are finished with them.

I only have a second, so I can't do a Kathy style re-cap, LOL.. That will come later unless she beats me to it! I can see same favorites starting to emerge. Melissa is my #1 girl as of right now and Brandon is my #1 boy. The routines were kind of hit or miss for me last night. There would be a bad one (Russian folk) that was cancelled out but a good one (Jive) so I don't know how that will affect voting. The Mia routine that Kupono & Kayla did was the best of the season!
-
So I was surprised at the bottom 3! It was great to see Phillips solo though! I guess it was time for both of them to go but I liked them both. From now on it will just get harder! Oh, and how crazy was that piece by the professional ballet dancers!?!?! She held that open plie on pointe for half of the number! I bet she has thighs like steel i-beams and mangled toes!
-
OMG! I love Chelsea but she can't be hatin' on my SYTYCD!!! I might have to boycott! It is SOOOO much better than DWTS! Kathy - you must have been busy last night! There's no re-cap. I will attempt a condensed version. Janette & Brandon - Great Cha-Cha! Her facial expressions are a little over the top for me but I think they did a great job! This routine was spot on technically and really entertaining! Caitlyn & Jason - Weird as hell Brian Freedman contemporary jazz alien thing. I actually thought they did a good job with this dance. I'm afraid they will be in the bottom 3 (and I don't know how much longer they can hold on there) because people don't get the routine and/or because the costumes sucked. Even Nigel said it was distracting and he didn't like the "tin foil" Melissa & Ade - Beautiful Pas de Deux! I was so excited to see classical ballet on pointe! I don't think Ade was perfect but he faked it and it looked great! And ballet is really hard! Kupono & Kayla - Gothic Contemporary. I LOVED this one. Sonja is so stange and creative and her stuff is so much fun to watch. Wardrobe really did a good job with this one. Kupono did his best performance of the season. I am cheering my gay boyfriend on! Kayla is a fantastic dancer but she is a little irritating to me. Randi & Evan - Broadway. I thought the choreography was great but there was something lacking. I don't even know if it was that or that the other routines were just that much better. It reminded me of the first episode where there really wasn't a bad routine! I'm saying bottom 3. Phillip & Jeanine - Nappy Tabs (ha!) Hip Hop. These two are safe for sure. It was a great performance and they have a fan following. I liked it though I thought Jeanine was a little too exaggerated in some of her popping. It looks so natural for Phillip and it felt forced with her. I also agree with Mia that the chain kind of had a presence of its own and it was hard not to focus on in. I kept waiting for them to trip! Karla & Vitolio - The kiss of death Quickstep. These two really pulled it off! It was a fun routine to watch and I loved the quick change at the beginning. I think these two might be in the bottom because they don't have as big of a following and Vitolio has had some inconsistent performances/solos. I will be sad to see anyone go home tonight. I'm glad I DVRed so I could FF through the Dizzy Feet and Katie Holmes bits. I mean it's a great cause but I just wanted to see dancing! This is a really fun blog from a guy who was in the audience: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31710846...nt-television/

Rach - this episode kinda got back in sync with the book. Not totally but enough that you feel like you know what direction they are heading. I thought it was one of the best of the season. I think the beginning seasons can be slow as they introduce new characters and have to develop new plot lines. I will say that they are deviating from the book on little things that don't make sense to me yet so I'm irritated. For example, the Sheriff of Dallas is Godfrey? And Sookie tells Eric she will go to Dallas for money for her new driveway when in the book Eric gives her the driveway, showing another side of this character. Of course I'll still watch to see what happens! There is no new episode next week, I guess because of the holiday. DOn't they realize that there are some of us who look forward to this show all week! I need to re watch the episode tonight and pay attention. DH was talking and the dogs were chasing each other so I was distracted!

ErinB replied to jennie's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
The only thing I had confiscated was matches to go with my candles. The TSA left me a little note saying that you can't travel with any type of incendiary device. -

PLEASE HELP: Reception question
ErinB replied to Sara1373's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Hi Sara - A cheaper option might be to host a cocktail hour in the garden. It should only be about $15-25 per person for passed hors d'oeuvres and champagne. This is what we did. We were married at 4 on the beach, had a private cocktail reception where we cut the cake did toasts, etc. Our dinner reservation was at 6:30 in one of the restaurants. They didn't happen to be busy at that point so we pretty much had the place to ourselves and they seated the other guests at the other end of the dining room. It was like we got the best of both worlds. It also gave guests time to run back to the room to freshen up before dinner. It was REALLY HOT!!! Keep in mind that although you are staying at an AI, the upcharges are for personal service. So if you have a private dinner for 30 people the resort is going to have to set up and tear down your space, have a wait staff for just your group, have food and beverages separate from the normal service area, etc. That is why there is an extra charge. If you haven't already done so, please check out the Couples Mega Thread. I think you will find lots of helpful info and some great links. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t39034 -
Friday, 26 June 8:03 AM Awake and getting ready for work (not really because I am BDWing). Dogs are fed and have been outside. I can hear DH hitting the snooze button in the other room!
