  1. I'm looking at buying one too. I found a site where you can purchase 100 of the pre-drilled shells for $16, if you want to DIY. I'll keep looking at let you know what I find!
  2. Yari, I'm so sorry. The death of a child is especially hard. I'll keep you all in my thoughts.
  3. Welcome to the forum! I'm a CSA bride. YOu'll find ots of helpful info here, especially on the Jamaica forum. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
  4. I think that's cute! It also sets the tone for a casual reception. You don't want your guests showing up in black tie for a BBQ, ya know! I always panic about what to wear to weddings!
  5. I cry like an idiot too! I'm a little worried I won't be able to make it through the ceremony! I keep reading it thinking I will become immune to it, but no such luck! I did find this shortened version: “These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow, and as in today, tears of joy. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children, the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.” I might just use this one, before the rings, so I won't be crying through the ENTIRE ceremony!
  6. We will send ours to everyone. A lot of our friends and family couldn't afford to travel, find someone to watch their kids, get time off work, etc. so we want them to feel included. Just because they couldn't come to the wedding doesn't mean we don't want to celebrate with them!
  7. There is a popular wedding poem that I cannot find the author of, so I'm hoping someone can help! There are a million different versions, but this is the one that has been turned into vows. It can also be read before exchanging rings. BRIDE'S VOWS: Groom, please face Bride, hold her palms up, so you may see the gift they are to you. These are the hands that hold yours on your wedding day as she gives you her pledge to love you and accepts your ring. These are the hands that are smooth and young and carefree now, but will be lined and rougher, working to make you comfortable. These are the hands that will hold each child in tender love, soothing them through illness, disciplining them when naughty, and wringing themselves in worry when trouble comes. These are the hands that will hold your face and wipe tears from your eyes - in wonder and awe that you would cry for her. These are the hands that will hold you in joy, excitement and hope each time she tells you that you are to have another child; that together you have created new life. These are the hands that through the years will caress your body in the passion of love, to enhance your intimacy. GROOM'S VOWS: Bride, please turn and face Groom, and hold his hands palms up, where you can see the gift that they are to you. These are the hands, young and strong and vibrant with love, that hold yours on your wedding day, as he promises to love you all the days of his life. These are the hands you will place with expectant joy against your stomach until he too, feels his child stir within you. These are the hands that look so large and clumsy, yet will be so gentle as he holds your baby for the first time. These are the hands that will work long hours to earn money for you and your family. These are the hands that will be nicked and bruised from fixing things around the house to make you more comfortable. These are the hands that will caress your body through the years, to make the passion of love come alive in you. These are the hands that will countless times wipe tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow and tears of joy. These are the hands that will comfort you in illness, and hold you when fear or grief weigh on your mind. These are the hands that will tenderly lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into his eyes; eyes that are filled completely with his overwhelming love and desire for you. These are the hands that will enter the Sacrament of Matrimony. These four hands will be your armor and shield against the evils and temptations of the world. These are the hands that will reach out, first to each other, then united, will spread your love and your sacrament to all they touch. These are the hands that will ease your parents' loneliness as you leave the nest, will first teach your own children the marvels of married life, and will be a sign to friends and strangers alike as to just how wonderful married life can be.
  8. I'm thinking she has much bigger issues than the side ponytail. Refer to the earlier comments on taste!
  9. Thanks for the input! I'm trying to get FI to go but he is very against organized religion and we've had a hard time finding something non-denominational. Maybe this can help
  10. Good points Morgan. FI's brother is getting married 3 weeks before us! It has put a lot of financial stress on everyone involved. It is an honor to be a BM but I have NEVER been one without spending $1000. By the time you figure dress, shoes, travel, bachelorette, multiple showers, and the wedding gift! I feel as a bride, if I am requiring someone to do something it is my responsibility to pay for it. For example, we bought our BP attire since they were paying to come on the trip. They are on thier own for shoes because I don't care! Before we leave I'm making reservations at a spa for all of the girls to have manis and pedis, even those not coming, but I'm not paying for it.
  11. Interesting. I've heard all of the tales about positioning, day of ovulation, etc. as a predictor but never diet. So I need to eat chicken and lettuce only if I want a girl!
  12. I've done so poorly this season. For some reason I have no motivation! Well, that and my schedule is so crazy. FI was supposed to do this with me and has only been bringing me down! He decides he wants pizza at 10:30 and I cannot resist the cheesy bread! I haven't weighed yet today. I forgot this morning and ate breakfast so I'll have to see what the damage is tonight! Ann--I thought I sent the pic last week. I was busy and didn't check the thread. I'll send it to you tonight when I get home. Did we decide we can take a week off during season 2 if it's our wedding week?
  13. I love the machine classes! I just can't afford them! It's $60+ a session here because there are so few places that do it. I have to settle for my mat classes at the gym or the Windsor DVDs!
  14. [spoilerFix.com] Lost Spoilers Glenda - here's some great ones! I love this site!
  15. Good luck with aqua! That's my color and I think I'm going to have to go the dyeables route.

Welcome Kristen! There is a ton of info here! Be sure to check out the Jamaica page!
  17. I'm doing flip flops for the beach, but am still on the look out for some fantastic blue shoes for the reception and AHR. That way too, if my feet get tired at the end of the night I will still have my comfy flops! Mine were $20 from VS. I'm 5'3" and my FI is 6'5" so I understaqnd needing heels!
  18. I'm trying to make a deal to sell some of my stuff to the resort or get some sort of service credit. Either way, I'll probably leave most of it there. I am having an AHR so things like chair bows, etc I will bring home. I'm actully not bringing too much stuff down. I'll just use the resort's candle holders, etc. All of the stuff for the OOT bags will be used or taken home by the guests.
  19. Welcome to the forum! You'll find tons of helpful info!
  20. Stephanie - How much candy did you get? I read somewhere 1 lb per person, but for our AHR that is 250 pounds! Even at wholeslae rates that'll be $1000! That is a lot of f-in candy! I sure don't need that much!
  21. I like to call these the WTF dresses: There are also several from the St. Pucchi Couture line that scare the crap out of me (and the models). It's like they are being swallowed by ruffles! St. Pucchi Inc
  22. Welcome! We have lots of Dreams brides and Couples brides. I always suggest starting with a wish list. All inclusive, Kid friendly or adult only, beach vs. pool, just you as a couple or 100 guests, etc. Then you can contact a travel agent who does weddings (there are several on the forum) for preliminary pricing. When I was looking, the price from last year, was pretty comparable to what we paid.
  23. Wedding:Hot Sauce Labels Here's some hot sauce lables. You have to scroll through and read each one, but this has some cute sayings for lables. Hot Sauce Personalized Wedding Shower Favors Qty 168 - eBay (item 370037538811 end time Apr-28-08 07:49:49 PDT) For a simple one I like thanks for spicing up our celebration.
