We have to go to Kansas for FI's brothers wedding at the end of May. Memorial Day weekend so you know the prices will go up even more! It's an 8 hour drive each way and his car is a V-8. It was cheaper for us both to fly Southwest at $300 total than it would have been for us to drive!

On the way to work it was $3.62 in Louisville, KY. I did hear that a smaller town about 30 minutes south had it for $3.40 (Bardstown, where bourbon comes from). These prices are killing me! I have 3 delivery vans that cost nearly $100 to fill up and I'm doing it more than once a week. It has also effected my food costs because companies are raising their delivery limits and delivery charges, etc. Most people forget that all of our plastic products - plate, cups, forks, etc are petroleum based products so those are on the rise as well!

I love it! how's tht for revenge, taking 2 dates to the prom! I'm so glad it turned out well!

OK, so I get this teary phone call from my MOH this morning. She had to go so I am supposed to get back to her with my thoughts later tonight. She is starting to think that her husband is addicted to porn. She woke up last night after midnight and he wasn't in bed. She got up and went to the kitchen and could see into the office. He couldn't see her, but there is a mirror on the wall behind the desk that was reflecting him, with headphones, and a computer screen full of porn. She said at first she didn't really process what was going on and just went to bed. At 3:30 she woke up again and he still wasn't there. So she said she was purposely lound and "bumped" into things in the kitchen and he really quickly shut things down and came out of the office. Now, she doesn't know what to do. She is really uncomfortable with porn and doesn't want it in their home. But, she says she can't really fault him because they haven't been intimate in months. They have a 3 year old special needs boy and a 6 month baby girl. Both of her pregnancies were high-risk and she ended up on bed rest with both of them. Mostly she's worried about the bigger implications. That they aren't communicating, that he's hiding things from her. She doesn't know if he has a secret cedit card or bank account to pay for this and if he does what else is he charging. There are lots of things that need to be done around the house including cleaning but he is always tired and doesn't want to do them (but he will stay up until 4 am for porn)... When they first started dating he watched porn and she told him she was uncomfortable with it so he stopped. He said it was no big deal, he was just used to being single and he had been in the Navy for 6 years. But she said she had noticed a few ties that the history on the computer had been cleared and she didn't think anything of it, but now she is wondering if this has been going on for a while. Their marriage is a little strained right now because of the kids, money matters, both have had family memebers die within the past month. She doesn't know if this is just an outlet or something bigger. I don't know what to tell her. I'd say let it blow over for a little while and dicuss it later after Jamaica (for my wedding). That probably sounds selfish but they are both looking forward to a vacation alone, with other adults, and no kiddos. They didn't take a honeymoon so they are really excited. They also live in Texas so we only see each other about once a year. I'm open to thoughts & suggestions! I can now never invite her to join BDW! She'd probably kill me if she knew I posted this!

Congrats! I can't wait to see pics! I HATE moving...I'm glad it was you and not me! LOL We are hoping to move in August so I'm thinking I need to start going through the house room by room and getting rid of things and packing up stuff that we don't use often.

Welcome! I'm sure you'll find lots of helpful info on here. Keep in mind that the tripadvisor reviews are subjective and for every negative, you'll find a positive. As far as cost goes, this is your special day so be sure you do waht makes you and your FI happiest. We could have chosen a different location or different resort that would have cost less and we would have had more people join us, but we really wanted everything our resort offers and 4 star luxury. Good luck and happy planning!

AA to charge $25 for 2nd checked bag

I called my TA who got in touch with the Airline and they gace us exemption from this new policy because we were a group of 30 and we had purchased back in September of 07. She then drafted a letter on agency letterhead with her name & contact info, our group number, and the airline contact and detailed our exemption. If any of you are traveling with a group it might be somethng to check into! -
G and GM PICS..What do you think?

I think that pink flowers will really make the color pop even more. Yellow or orange would be good accent colors too, or you could just stick with white... I wouldn't add any extra blue unless you wanted to have the stems hand-tied in blue ribbon. -
Jenny that is so sweet of you and your FI. I'm sure your mom will be really touched. If she's anything like me, she'll be crying tears of joy, I got a little misty just reading this. Pass along a big BDW hug to you and your mom! Congrats!

Newlyweds jailed after brawl at Pittsburgh-area hotel
ErinB replied to TammyWright's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
That is so classy. I wonder what the hell they did at the reception! I'm guessing "highly intoxicated" was just the beginning. Can you imagine what this will do to his career as a dentist? If I read the paper or watched the news and my bloody, shoe-less dentist was on there for domestic violence on his wedding night, I'd probably find a new one! -
Welcome and Congrats! Have fun searching the forum!

G and GM PICS..What do you think?

I think it will look great. I'm kinda doing a similar thing and I've seen a lot of girls who have to. -
Honestly, the $68 pp is very reasonable for the above menu and all that it includes. I would still look for another restaurant, just to price shop. One thing to consider is to present a budget up front. We will have a reception for 100 guests and we need to stay at $60 a head including service, tax, etc. so you don't have to back track. I understand not wanting to ask your family & friends to cook. That's one of the main reasons we wanted a DW. I know how I am and it will be hard enough keeping me out of the kitchen in my wedding dress at my AHR! You may find that you dad and his friends may want to present you a dish as their gift. Several of my colleagues are doing this as well as distributors and vendors I work with on a regualr basis. Calling in favors is the only thing that has made my AHR possible after the money we are spending on the actual wedding.

From the reviews I read in searching for a destination, anything that is 4+ stars should be fine. You should also look for resorts that offer sit down service, not just buffet meals. I'm really picky with food too. I'm a chef and so were both of my parents! Have you tried seaching culinary vacations? Even if there is not a festival at the time you are traveling, it should be a safe bet that the host resort would have decent food!

Bamboo Arch/CHuppa...Is it worth it?
ErinB replied to ErinB's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I know right...We aren't even paying $800 for our HDs, champagne, and cake reception! for all 34 guests it will only be $600. I think I might contact them again and see what $200 will get me LOL. I was planning to bring down my own decor anyway so maybe I can sell it back to them... -
Wow! You're food looked great! How sweet of them to keep your diet in mind! I love the idea of FI taping his answers. How cute! I'm picturing mine doing it! LOL I'm glad you had a good time and got lots of good stuff!

Damian was very nice, laid back & humble. OMG! I totally forgot this one. I was working a concert for the Wailers, Bob Marley's band. One of them kept trying to make out with me and the rest of the girls on my staff! He was handsy to say the least. I had to end up pulling all of my girls and only sending male staff backstage and to the green rooms!

Be sure your resort/coordinator can even receive shipments. I was thinking of shipping stuff directly to my resort, but 1) the cost was ridiculous and 2) the resort doesn't accept anything early because they don't want to accept the liabilty for it.

There are lots of ROR brides here! I'm sure you'll find all kinds of helpful info. have fun searching the forums!

I say we do enforce the deadline. Everyone MUST contact you by midnight Wednesday and have a really good reason if they can't send you the info. SInce I am usually a guilty party I'm totally fine with this! LOL! I didn't get a last chance workout. I've done so poorly this season when I had such high hopes. Apparently, you cannot just wake up skinny, no matter how much you wish for it! I have made some healthy changes, I just HAVE to start working out on a regular basis. We'll see what happens! Congrats to the winner and keep up the good work girls!
