  1. I'm a June bride and panic is about to set in. Mainly because there are a few upgrades I would like to do for the ceremony but I don't know if I can justify the price. I'm also really mad at myself for not being focused on losing weight, bleaching my teeth, etc. I'm also having nightmares that I will be in some disfiguring accident or fal and break my leg before the wedding! LOL. I think it might be time for some crazy pills!
  2. We got another one last night! I think they have set up their neighborhood raccoon head quarters in my house! I heard the trap shut and couldn't sleep after that. At least this one stayed on the roof! I feel so guilty! I was outside talking to it and FI seriously thinks I've lost it. He told me I was probably scaring the poor thing even more by having a heart-to-heart conversation.
  3. Your dress is beautiful! I'd say $200 is very reasonable for your dress. Usually with a pick up skirt like that they can't do a regular 3 button bustle, they have to do 10 or so and you button each pick -up up.
  4. Today on Oprah the whole cast and Mr. Big are going to do interviews and preview the upcoming movie. This is the first promo that they are doing and the only one the entire cast will do together until the premier! I know that Oprah is on twice here, at 4:00pm and then replayed at 10:30. Just thought I would pass the info along! Get Health, Beauty, Recipes, Money, Decorating and Relationship Advice on Oprah.com.
  5. I would ask the resort nicely. If nothing else, lie and say your FMIL already made arrangements with the baker as a surprise for your wedding. You can also aske if there is an outside vendor fee or if the resort would acept some kind of gratuity for serving the cupcakes.
  6. I'm so glad it turned out well. I hope your brother comes around soon but at least no one let him being a butthead ruin the day!
  7. Here's another one! "Replace the traditional plastic bride and groom with bird ornaments, origami shapes or even a snow globe." Can you picture what would happen if you plopped a snow-globe down on top of your wedding cake? Especially those of us having smaller weddings. The thing would crush your entire cake!
  8. Christine is right, put the money towards something fabulous for your wedding! Congrats on all of your hard work! I'm so proud of you!
  9. I personally gave up on looking for the clip art I liked and just hand stamped each page. I don't know if that helps, but it is an option!
  10. I love all of the babies! I'm surprised at how many people have chocolate labs. Harley is a really rich color so we call him "special dark". He is such a baby. The other dog is FI's parents'. They have 3, 2 black and 1 yellow lab. Sampson is HUGE! He's about 5'9" when he stands up and weighs about 120#. He's bigger than I am! He's my buddy. Now that he's getting older we snuggle while the other kids play.

Unless the date is too close to my wedding. Then I'll wait until next time. But, after seeing how much fun y'all had with secret bunny I want in on this game. My secret <insert holiday here> will get a ferret cage & a ferret ball. It's actually "Mike gets Married Day" since I too am marrying a Mike. I'm with Morgan. I think we should just pick a theme and a due date since there aren't many good summer holidays. We could do pamper items or kitchen items...we would be secret chefs! (I'm not biased) Or we could do a fiesta theme and be Secret Amigas. If we do July for Independence Day(s) we could be Secret Sparklers... I really don't care. I had fun with the last one!

  13. Welcome to the forum!
  14. It's really easy from what I've read. www.ritdye.com All of the specifics are on there. I can't remember if polyester dyes or not. There is also a custom color page that has "recipes" for colors other than the standard ones. I'll give it a go in the next few weeks (as soon as my slip comes in) and let you know what happens!
  15. How are you booking? If you are doing a group then I say go ahead and let the extra couple join. We booked as a goup and several people who swore up and down they would be there aren't coming so we were stuck trying to fill spots. In the end we lost about $3000 in deposits for people who said they were coming and didn't. If you do have tag-alongs just don't invite them to the wedding/reception. If they want to use the time as a vacation that is fine.
  16. So I think I have decided to dye my slip. I really like the look of it and the surprise pop of color. Our colors are aqua and turquoise. But, I also want blue shoes. I don't want it to look tacky and over-kill the blue. So, should I just pick one, if so which one? Should I dye the slip aqua and shoes turquoise or just pick one color and stick with it? I guess I should have made a poll...

    Going to Cabo

Congrats and welcome to the forum! I really wish we had been able to do a site visit!
  18. I feel the same way! Now that the wedding is almost here I'm kinda freaking out! I have paid for most of the wedding myself, probably about 50/50 with my mom, but I have done every bit of planning. You really do just have to look forward to the wedding and what it means. This is not just any other day, it's your wedding day so it should be treated as something special. I've passed on lots of dinners and outings, but I keep telling myself I'll see those people at the wedding. Men in general, or so it seems, just don't get it. I don't even think it matters what "it" is! LOL Hang in there!
  19. Congrats to all of you LOSERS! LOL I managed to lose 2.4 pounds! WooHoo! Really disappointing, but I cannot say that I even tried. This weekend is going to be nuts so I'm going to try and do my best but them on Monday I am going to turn psycho! I really wanted to be in a bikini for my wedding but that means at least 20 pounds. Most of it is water and fluff. By cutting carbs I should be able to do that in 6 weeks. Season 2 here I come!
  20. We have at least one raccoon that has decided to live with us. He was fine as a roommate until he started chewing up all of the insulation, eating through wire, stealing dog food and hiding it in the dryer vent, and inviting all of his friends over for late night parties. So, a humane exterminator came over yesterday to set traps. Once they get them they drive out to the country and let them go. Well, we caught one! It was so sad I nearly cried! It's all curled up in it's cage all pouty looking! FI was making fun of me. Poor little guy, apparently it thrashed so hard to get out of the trap (which was on the roof) it fell off of the roof! Can you imagine how scary that would have been. We're hoping it's a boy, not a nursing momma, or we're going to have to start ripping out walls!
  21. I think a vegas wedding would be a ton of fun! WIll many of your guests have to travel? Congrats and happy planning!
  22. It sounds like your plans are coming together! Congrats!
  23. Here's a picture of Nibblet in Paris. The French are much more open to traveling ferrets than Mexico. Not just anyone can pull off a beret, but he does it with a certain je ne sais quoi!
