  1. Ladies, What are we going to do when the season is over?!?!?! FYI - The next Sookie novel will be out in May of 2010!
  2. That sounds normal. I'm assuming you're booking a package so you are probably paying between $100 and $200 per person each for the hotel and $100-$200 per person for the airfare. When you break it out, it sounds better. If you have questions as to what the money is going for, ask your TA. If you are worried about no-shows, start with your definites, family, BP, etc and see where you are. I mean you and your FI are 2, so you only need 8 more guests.
  3. ok, you've convinced me to add the HON books to my list. I keep walking past them at Sam's and I figure why not for $5. I'll spend that much on library late fees! I read the Vampire Diaries by L. J. Smith when I was a "young adult" when they first came out in the early 90s. The CW has turned them into a new fall series. From the previews I've seen, the vampires get all Buffy-faced when they turn. I'm a TV whore, so I know I'll watch it, though! I might need to re-read them now that I am older and there are 2 more in the series. Her Night World series is now in volumes so 3 books in one. I picked one up the other day thinking it was the first in the set but it was the last. I read the first 3 chapters and couldn't figure out what was going on! LOL
  4. OOOOH!!!! True Blood Wiki! Must go search... Man I haven't been an obsessed superfan since NKOTB! If you ever see a picture of me in an Eric T-shirt, knotted on the side and a banana clip in my hair, it's time for an intervention!
  5. I know Eric has said he is over a thousand years old. I thought the Queen was like a medival princess or something which means she would have been turned in the 1400s-ish. I'm excited for next week. I know Evan Rachel Wood is the queen but I wonder what she will look like?
  6. You all know I was happy to see my Eric! I'm a little confused about what Sookie is, but I do have some theories, like Rachel. The writing this episode was so witty! Terry was cracking me up! DH and I have been saying BULL SH*T all day about random things. Glad to see Jason and Lafayette had some screen time. I am thinking the queen was feeding off a human. I do wonder why the queen would know about Maryanne in a mythological context. In the books she was really old, but not older than Eric. Too late now, but Godric would have been the one to chat with about that. Wasn't he a Roman solider or something?
  7. I'm so excited for you! This is such great news! My fellow cracker-jack BDWers can have a DW planned in about 37 minutes, so let us know when you two are ready! Have you decided who will play you in THE LAPTOP??
  8. You can also check out Tensing Pen and Rockhouse. Those are both smaller resorts and I know there are reviews on here.
  9. Anything is possible with enough time and cash! LOL If you really want peonies, check with your wedding coordinator. I know they can be pricey here in the US, so I would expect to pay a premium in MX because they will have to be specialy ordered. I love peonies and chose to go with high quality silks to save money and so I didn't have to worry about them wilting in the heat. There are lots of Turquoise/Aqua brides, so be sure to use the search button. The most common color combos seems to be green, yellow, orange, pink, or red with the turquoise.
  10. Welcome! There is a ton of info here on the forum! You've certainly come to the right place. Use the Search Button at the top of the page for more specific information. Congrats and Happy Planning!
  11. that is crazy! I wonder if Fox will make any kind of statement or just never mention him again?
  12. I finally started this today! I've been saying I would for weeks! LOL Yesterday I made a HUGE pot of soup. My mom and I are doing this together. She and I chopped up all of our fruits for today and kind of made a game plan. I have a bunch of veggies for tomorrow but still need to chop them. Good thing I'm a chef so I can do it at work! Today went pretty well. My biggest problem was that I had a busy morning and I didn't eat anything until almost noon. 5+ hours was too long! I ended up with a horibble headache. I was feeling kinda shaky so I did eat a piece of beef & a piece of cheese just to get some protein fast. I did taste a few other things so I guess that is cheating, but I know for a fact my calorie consumption has been way lower than normal. I did have the soup cold and it was fine. Just call it gazpacho! I also used a bag of broccoli slaw mix in my soup (cabbage, broccoli, carrots). This is also a very low impact food but the thin pieces look like noodles. They hold up much better than the soup mix noodles that are basically just mush. The broccoli is also a good source of vitamins. I'll keep you posted as to how I'm doing!
  13. Oh and I sis think it was really sweet that Sookie and Jason kind of bonded. And I loved that Hoyt finally stood up to his mother. I guess the episode wasn't as bad as I originally thought! LOL I wasn't a big fan of the main vampire storyline, but the others were good, like Sam turning into a fly. Although, that is the second time he has turned into something that flies and he told Sookie flying was hard. He's making it look pretty easy!
  14. Ok, last night's episode was just kinda blah... The best part was getting to see Eric all naked! Hell that may have been the best part of the whole season! I would definitely do real bad things to him! I think Sookie is trying to be fancy since she is out of town on a business trip? I agree that hair & wardrobe are trying too hard. Lafayette was a total badass! I guess after surviving the vapires he isn't scared of anything. The graphics when Godric meets the sun were horribly bad! DH and I also didn't understand how & why Nan the vampire spokesperson was blaming the others. She isn't as old and doesn't have any authority other than being on TV.
  15. Welcome! I was a CSA bride. It is wonderful! I know you will have a fantastic time!
  16. I'm ready to pack my bags! Too bad there's no money in my checking account! LOL
  17. Great idea! I love the way they turned out! Too bad I'm already married, LOL. I would have totally stolen that idea!
  18. You can do as much or as little as you want for your wedding. The only thing you really need is a confirmation of the date, location, and dinner reservations appropriate to the number of guests. IF you want something specific you should let the WC know early so she can make the appropriate arrangements. For example, if you want a band, tell her so she can note it in your file and be sure they are available on your day. If you want a particular bouquet then let her know. Flowers that are not indigenous usually have to be shipped in and require a week or two notice, so if your heart is set on Calla lilies you'll need to order them before you arrive. I did a lot of planning but honestly, most of it was getting info to my guests. We did OOT bags and those were a lot of fun, but our guests certainly weren't expecting them. I had a file of inspiration photos and copies of all e-mail confirmations that I took to the meeting with my WC. We went with the free package and just added the extras that we wanted. I didn't know what our dinner menu was until I walked into the restaurant!
  19. Lisa, I just love your sassy hair! You're right, it is Godric not Godfrey. No new characters to throw at you! My theory about the way Bill talks is that because he really is English and he tries too hard to cover his accent. The books are really fun reads. They are a little cheesy at times but there are some steamy scenes to make up for it! I guess the reason the two are so different is because the books are really only about Sookie and all of the other characters are pretty minor. The show has done a great job turning the supporting roles into stars. I love Lafayette! The first 8 books are in mass paperback so you can pick them up for about $5. Or, sometime this fall, she is releasing a boxed set of all the books. Sounds like a good Christmas present to me! Then, you'll be all ready for season 3!
  20. OK, I am impatient and had to search out some spoilers! August True Blood spoilers It just covers the August episodes, so no ruining the season finale ( Sept 6)if you peek. For casting spoilers...Evan Rachel Wood will play Sophie Anne, and they have cast the part of Hadley, Sookie's cousin who is supposed to make an appearance before the end of the season! Good news is that Season 3 has been ordered. I hate when HBO cancels series right when they get good! The weres will show up but Bubba won't.
  21. Yeah, I wonder what they are doing with Godfrey. They've given him a whole different background. He wasn't Eric's Maker or a Sheriff. DH didn't get that. He was like "How can he be 2500 years old and only be a sheriff?? He would be a King!" In the book, Stan was Sheriff. They have protrayed his character well and with the big attitude. He punished both Hugo and Isabelle. He chained them both with naked, with silver, facing each other but on opposite sides of the room. So, the thing they both desired most was in front of them but out of reach. I know I sould like I'm always giving a book report, but Maryanne wasn't chasing Sam in the book! I do like that Eggs is her minon in the show. It does make the story more interesting than him being just a pervy boyfriend. I noticed in the previews that Tara's mom will be in the next episode. I wonder if she will find the b-day present Maryanne threw out in the yard?
  22. There's lots to do in KC. DH's family is from there. Most of my suggestions have already been covered, but Jack Stack is a must! There is one on the Kansas Side, so you might want to make the drive! LOL There are also several casinos in the area. At the Plaza, there is a fantastic Mexican restaurant called Baja 600. They make amazing guacamole tableside and they also have really good cocktails!
