I've noticed as I've gotten older that I start to think about it. I love to fly though, so I think it is usually more excitement or nerves that I forgot something, or I don't want to go where I'm flying. Visits with the in-laws are always interesting to say the least. Now that we're engaged I guess they figure I'm sticking around so they can be nice to me. In the early years it was a little tough! I have a friend who is terrified to fly. She has to take Valium before she can get on the plane and usually hits the airport bar before hand too. One of these days they aren't going to let her on the plane! That is why she isn't coming to my wedding--the plane from Louisville to Memphis was "too small"!

After my dress fitting the other day, I have to do something with my arms. It looks like I'm going to be lifting weights like crazy!

It is beautiful! Your mom is such a sweetie! When we bought my dress I was kinda freaking out. I said all along a dress that I would only wear once was not that important to me and swore I wouldn't spend over $500. Well, I saw my dress and it was nearly double that. At the boutique my mom just siad you have to buy it, there are no more questions. When we got to the store she just burst into tears and told me that my Grandmother, who died 3 years ago this July, told her that she new she wouldn't make it to my see me get married but she wanted me to have whatever dress I wanted. She had set up a special account just for my wedding dress. It makes me cry every time I think about it. We are both lucky to have such amazing, caring women in our lives!

I've thought about this too. Mexico would have been cheaper anyway. But, I figure we'll have a wonderful time no matter where we are. Some of my family and FI's really haven't been very supportive about the wedding, have bitched about price mainly. I'm guessing the same thing would happen no matter where we are, so why not go where we want.

I would have her check SavetheDress.com - Used wedding dresses. New, sample & used designer gowns. Buy & sell online. (it's not on there now) and also try Craig's list, maybe in some bigger cities. I'll check and see what I can find. No luck with TJ Formals?

Your friend's dress is beautiful! I vote for option 2. I think it will be more in line with what you want. $30 for a veil is nothing. If you wanted to add some beadwork to compliment your dress you could add it or even DIY.

Target is the best. I would say a majority of OOT bag items have come form there, especially the dollar spot!

There are tons of beautiful Caribbean destinations! Hopefully you can find some info on the forum to help you make your choice. After you have a location the planning gets much easier!

Our wedding is at 4pm. Afterwards we will have a private HD reception, cut the cake, make toasts, etc. Our guests will go to a semi-private buffet at one of the restaurants at 7pm. This was much more cost effective than the private dinner that was $100 pp! Instead we get beer, wine, champagne, and passed HDs for 2 hours at $15 pp. The reception will take place in the garden by the gazebo (I need to find a pic). They include white able covers only and no real table decor. I'm planning on making turquoise satin toppers and centerpieces for the 4 tables we need. Here is my starting point. I've got the large hurricane that I was going to fill with beach glass, marbles, etc. I don't know if I should do the "drowned" flowers or floating candles. My concern with the candles is that it is late afternoon and not dark. They will sit on these beautiful aqua marbled glass tiles and I have 4 mini hurricanes for each table as well. Should I use tea lights or a single blossom? Should I tie ribbon around the tops of the hurricanes? Should I scatter shells on the tables?

Those are really cute! I love all of the available designs. Are they like a plastic bag or more substantial/heavier?

The easiest way is to upload the photo to a photobucket account and then copy the image code and paste it to the post. I believe there is a sticky out there about it. So the lights go in the ocean to keep it visible?

Great job both of you! There is NO WAY I could have planned a wedding and gone to school. My job performance has gone down about 600% since I started planning and playing on BDW! LOL
