Yah! Congrats... sounds like fun! Can't wait to hear/see more.

We are going through a TA as well to make it a little more stress-free for everyone. But we are not blocking rooms or airfare at all. We have guests coming from a couple different cities (in 2 countries)... plus our guests will be staying different lengths of times (5, 7 and 10 days). For us it was easier to let everyone book what worked for them!

Congrats! Yep there is a lot of great info for ROR brides on here! Good luck and happy planning.

Personalizing your Wedding Ceremony
Bride010101 replied to Stormsong's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I also had a friend who did a outdoor ceremony here in MN and they did some sort of a rock ceremony. (It was a couple years ago and I wasn't in wedding planning mode... so the details are kinda fuzzy) I remember when we entered there was a table telling us to choose a rock... then during the ceremony we made a wish for the couple and a glass container of some sort was pass around and all the rocks collected. They used pretty glass rock and I think they still have the container in their home... turned it into a vase of some sort. I tried doing a search of it... but w/ little success. Here is one website: Rock Ceremony, Seashell Ceremony, Water Ceremony for use within your wedding ceremony, from The Marrying Guy® Was cute... not sure if it's right for a beach wedding... but figured I would throw it out there. -
Personalizing your Wedding Ceremony

I love the idea of a hand ceremony. I just heard of it in a thread this past week... I think maybe by Tami. Or if you google Wedding Hand Ceremony you can find some different wording. -

Did they know when you got there that an upgrade would be available on Tuesday? Or did you have to check with the front desk every day? -

Good luck with your choice! How are the quality of the cards w/ flowers? Are they the same as regular playing cards... or are they more flimsy? -
Wow Tami! That is so sweet... I love it! And I love the idea of having a family member read it... More decisions

Hmmm I’m sorry I’m of no help when it comes to that question. Oh and that would be awesome if he could extend his visa. Much easier than filing all the paper work IMO. Hey if you need any help I don’t mind one bit. PM me and I could even talk to you on the phone and go over the paperwork once you begin the process. You can download all the forms you need now from UCIS and start filling them out ahead of time if you’re really eager lol Yeah, not even a part time job right now... I decided to take the school year off of work as the most recent company I worked for isn't in my local area and the rest of the pharmacies in town are already overrun w/ my classmates. I start rotations in May which means I will be basically switching jobs every 5 weeks (jobs that I am paying full time tuition to work at...) so not sure if I will try and pick up somthing part time. We are hopefully meeting with someone next week who can maybe shed some light on the student visa and whether we can extend it. So for now I'll just keep my fingers crossed that we can... Then we wont have to deal w/ the paperwork for a year and half at which time we will have more of the requirements (money, proof of relationship, etc). I'll let you know how it goes... and what we decide to do. I'll probably take you up on the help w/ filling out forms ... my goal is to at least start them soon so they are closer to being completed if we have a change of plans and need them. Thanks so much for your help! I don't know what I would do w/o this site! I was telling my family the other night about some of the basic info I have learned about the process through BDW.... and they just didn't understand. My dad kept saying... you are getting immigration info from your wedding site? Haha... you guys are the best! -

So pretty!!! I love the ones with the waves coming in. And I really love the back of your dress! I think I might use your show to try and convince my mom to let me use my dress! -
Lots of cute options!!! I ended up ordering mine through VistaPrint with a deal of getting 50 large magnets free. I just paid the uploading fee and shipping. They turned out pretty good! We sent ours out really early... almost a full year in advance. But I had a significant chunk of family that needs that amount of notice to get the time off... and so they wouldn't start planning their annual winter vacation.

Good luck with your meeting! And thanks for all your advice. I feel much better about the whole $ supporting thing... we figured that had to be a way around it or a co-signing of sorts... but I couldn't seem to find written proof of that. And sadly we don't have a cosigned lease... the house we live in only has 3 rooms so FI and I just share one. We worked out a deal w/ his roommates that I don't have to pay rent if I do majority of the cleaning. (some days I really regret that aggreement... haha) So I am not part of the lease at all.... and my address is at my parents house. We start rotations this next year... so we will be all over the state w/o a regular lease. Do you think it would be beneficial to open a joint bank account?? My FI seems to think he will be able to extend his student visa after we graduate as he will be doing a residency program. I'm a bit skeptical until he can show me something in writing.... but if that ends up being the case we may just wait to file until after we graduate and have a home together. Argh I dunno. I'm encouraged to hear though that you didn't use a lawyer! It just seems so expensive.... I'm hoping we can figure most of it out on our own.
