  1. Welcome Back! Happy Planning. : )
  2. I agree it is very resort dependent... but even w/in the resort it is dependent on what and how much you want. From my research at least, a lot of the AIs have a base "free" package and the options to upgrade to larger packages or to upgrade what you want. I know a few brides here have stuck w/ the free package, brought some stuff from home and had beautiful weddings. At RIU they have a free option for dinner - but the catch is that it is semi-private and limited to 50 people. Some people are happy with that (we are!) but some people would rather have a private reception with separate tables and centerpeices and what not. So RIU has different options for private things... but at an additional fee. We are doing the free, semi-private dinner the resort offers... then paying $10/person for a reception on the beach (to keep the bar open).

    Hello

    Welcome and Happy Planning.
  4. I think everything sounds wonderful! I can't wait to see your pics when you get back. : ) As for the rehersal... I know previous brides have mentioned it. I have an email in to Chandyln asking about it but haven't heard back. With 8 other people in our bridal party I am hoping we can have one so that everyone knows what they are doing. If you want one, you could probalby arrange it with Chandyln when you get down there.
  5. Welcome! Don't worry about not having a date or location... you still have lots of time! For us, we really only had one week available...so our date selection was easy. After looking at tons of travel brochures and different reviews, I felt the Jamaica fit us and our guests the best! Just take a look around here - there is some great info! And consider talking with a TA ...they can help point you to waht resorts/locations will best meet what you want!
  6. We have been struggling w/ this as well... I currently have 2 front pages that I am debating about. The first is the "Now Boarding" pass that alot of people have - that list our names, the date, and location stuff. Then I have another one that says something like " Mr & Mrs. Doe and Mr. & Mrs. Johnson invite you to share in the marriage of their children, Sean & Becky,..." But I feel redundant using both... and can't decide which one I want. I feel like since I'm using the BP as my actual invite I should include the parent bit... but I like the "Now Boarding" as the cover to get the idea across.
  7. Thanks so much! I knew I had played around at designs on another site and this was it! Plus its great to know that someone else was happy with the product and service. My only concern is hte minimum order of 100... did you end up ordering that many? or did they allow a smaller purchase?

LOL, all I can do is laugh at this point. I must love him! Haha! Well I wish you luck with this task! Guys can be such a pain sometimes. My FI literally packs more than I do, but procrastinates doing so until the last possibly minute... so its always a stressful ordeal of where did this belt go and where are those brown shoes.

    Excited!

Welcome from another Jan 09 bride! Congrats and Happy Planning.
  10. Wow! Everything looks amazing... your dress is perfect! I also love your ceremony wording... thank you so much for sharing (and giving some ideas to those of us who are struggling w/ wording right now!). Hope you have a wonderful time and can't wait to hear all about it.
  11. Welcome and Congrats!
  12. Have a wonderful time ladies! That is really exciting that you will be there at the same time... I keep waiting for someone to be there during Jan '09 with me - but this far everyone else is in the last half the month. But anyways, sounds like you both are good to go... try to relax and enjoy the last few days before you go!
  13. From the begining I knew we wanted to encorporate travel mugs into our gift /OOT bag for our guests. I know a lot of brides on here have used discountmugs and have been relatively happy with them. However, looking at their site the largest mug they offer is 16 oz. My relatives go on yearly trips to different places and always bring a mug with them to AIs. As the years have gone on, the mug size gets larger and larger. Currently, they "prefer" mugs that are closer to the 20 - 21 oz size. I found some at promoforce that look promising and wonder if anyone has ordered from them (or another vendor they would recommned)? They have some larger sized mugs for ~$3-4/mug with the customary $38 set up fee and then shipping which looks like ~$25. Promo Force - Auto Mugs and Tumblers 21 oz Sportster Travel Mug - A21M Promo Force - Insulated Mugs 22 oz Insulated Mug - I22M It makes me nervous ordering from someone that hasn't been recommended to me by someone I trust. I was originally hoping to work with a local company, but the deal fell through and now they want way too much. Thanks for any help!
