If I could leave the MIL home I would and it is a shame because she has only gotten this way since he started talking about getting engaged, but he is her BABY boy...27 haha The Dreams in the Dominican was the old Sunscape the Beach. They are doing some renivations and the name changes sometime this month officially, but people have commented that the regular rooms are the gross rooms, and some of the photos of the mold and tarantulas are really gross. I guess I just have to keep reading!Thanks everyone. My gf's mom did all of this when she got married, so I don't have anyone else that has done this. Once my place is set, I'm sure I will be able to relax!

So what did you wind up doing? I am having the same dilemma. It looks like you abandoned the destination wedding thing all together.

Are most people using a travel agent? It sounds like most people aren't, but I am really worried that I will forget something if I don't use one.

I'll look there. I looked at the Dreams in Punta Cana, but there are so many different reviews. I am jealous of you. I wanted to do Eastern Mexico because I have really curl hair and they say there is less humidity there. So I will probably end up looking like Monica from "Friends" on that vacation episode! I loved Jamaica, but my friend did Jamaica last year and I feel like if I am going to ask people to pay all of this money we have to go somewhere different. Am I wrong?

I feel like this is the biggest decision. How do you decide where to get married? My MIL refuses to go if it is more than a 4hr flight. She also refuses if we have to take a connecting flight. I live in South Jersey, so I am limited to Bermuda, Bahama (come on pretty mama..jk), DR, or Western Mexico/Riviera Maya. I want an all-inclusive and his sister wants to bring her kids. Any suggestions?

I really want to get married there. What do they do in situations if it rains? I also hope they have a second spot for weddings because I was really hoping for a view of the beach.

My girlfriend got married at Riu in Ochos Rios. It was such an amazing place. The wedding site wasn't really put together well because the resort had newly opened. Even without it the wedding was amazing. The photos came out so well!
