Hi guys has anyone any ideas of poems or readings for a civil ceremony - i have been searching the internet but nothing seems to sum up what i want to say?

I am so happy i found this web sit - there is NOTHING like this in uk so i would have just accepted that i have to have rubbish photos - you guys have so many good ideas it great!!! we have been to sort out our reception back home tonight and i am all excited now can't wait !!!!!!!

oh that is a really good idea - them you don't feel as ripped off!!! i am planning to have a private reception instead of the reservations in a resturant they offer with the wedding package - so was going to have a dinner the night before the wedding or on my bithday which is 3 days before so could use them for that - good plan morgan i will have a look at Ericks web site when i get home from work - not really meant to be on the internet !!! ) but i was shocked at the amount of really good photographers locally and the prices are soo good - in England you would pay at least $5000 for a decent photographer and that is just a basic package!!! thanks em x

hi thans for replying x i am not sure of the company they use but have been told they are very dated and posed shot so really would like to use one of the local photographers i have reaserched. i have asked hotel for some examples but as yet not received and also i believe they don't do any getting ready or reception shots which i would really like.

oh i know its just going to be a night mare - wont they be suspsious of my Mexican 'relation' i am not sure which route to go down the pretending i am going to cancle my wedding or the pertending they are related>

Hi Clare i fund a photographer in cancun also Lidya Solemidt, who look V good - this is what she sent me when i asked about Moon palace not letting local photographers in - Thank you for your prompt reply! Regarding the Moon Palace Hotel, yes they have that rule of not accepting outside vendors. Few years ago I did some weddings there before they were so hard about that point, but then the weddings business grew up so much at the hotel and they made their own suppliers inside the hotel and like that they win money with everything, another business for them, in fact they have too many weddings at the hotel and all the weddings are basically the same, it is a kind of the MacDo for the weddings; the times is already set up, the pictures are the same (traditional and the same positions for all of them, their photographers are not professionals), flowers, etc… But recently speaking with a colleague that is photographer also him told me that he made a wedding at the Moon Palace, him told me that the client must speak with the wedding coordinator or the area manager in order to explain him that you want to hire an outside photographer for your wedding. My colleague told me that at the beginning they don’t wanted to accept it, but the client was so angry and told them that if they don’t let her bring their own photographer they will cancel all the reservations and the wedding and will change of hotel (of course she was kidding, it was just a way to press them…) and it WORKS! So maybe you have to try it, first speak very cordially with your wedding coordinator and her/him know about your decision, if that doesn’t works then you speak with the manager and tell him or her that you have the right to hire any other supplier for your wedding and that they don’t have to limit your choice to their choice. If that doesn’t works then you make the plan B… hahahah, tell them about a possible cancellation of everything but you must be rude with them, and be hope it works this time! J By my part I can’t do anything, only you are the one that can do that I be shooting your wedding. i just don't know if i can hadle the pain of having to be nasty and what if they turn around and say well change hotel - what are you supposed to do then?

Hi i think the flight is 10hours - oh its gonna be a killer!!!!!! we have quite a few kids coming wi too - i am going to request to be seated away from them i think - mean i know, but i don't think i can cope with screaming kids aswell hahahaha i am still waiting for a response from my wc at moon palace and nothing as yet - its very frustrating - just want my questions answered! i think it pehaps because my wedding is slighly longer than 3 months away? and i am stressing about the whole hotel photographer thing - don't want to use them but i know i will have a fight on my hands getting someone else into the hotel !!! but it is my wedding day and they shouldn't be aloued to tell you who you can and can not use - can they?

Hi congrats on your wedding. well i finally got a response from Carolina at moon palace - it was to tell me that she had passed my details on to nancy at the hotel - but it was a response woo hoo. i have asked for examples of the on site photographers pic's so if i get some i will for ward to you. did they not tell you which gazebo your getting married at? or where your reception is? i would push for an answer then you can do little maps or order of service/time lines for your guests? there is 30 of us coming from the UK and i was quite shocked with the number and there still may be a few adding on? also i read in another thread that if you have the free wedding package where you get free resevations for you and your guests in a resturant you can still use this so i was planning on doing this the night befor as a rehersal dinner type thing or on my birthday which is 3 days before the wedding ?

oh thank you all for your kind welcomes. i am so glad i found this site there is nothing like this in the uk and finding info from brides who have been married at moon palace or are going to be is impossible. i am getting slightly obsessed with looking at the moon palace web site hahaha it does look amazing. i am almost sorted have chosen dress a short (well just below knees) 50's number and just have to go for a fitting. Dean has got his suit and we bought wedding rings yesterday woo hoo! have got all favors for the wedding (fans, mini suncream and bubbles) and will get something 'Mexican'? for guests once we arrive. i just need to sort the day out before we arrive so i am not worring about it while we are there. does anyone know how may songs i will need for a civil wedding? also if anyone has used the hotels photograhers i would love to hear your feed back (am slightly worried about this). and need to organise the private funtion i want after. thanks again emma x

Hi I have booked through and agent in the uk so not dealing with anyone at moon palace have tried to contact them directly but no joy!!! i am so excited though just 14 weeks to go!!!! would like to get the details sorted before we arrive, will try e-mailing again. are you using the hotels photograhers

hi i am getting married at moon paalce on the 12th of march and have the same worried - we are coming from the uk so can't bring a photographer and we were told this wasn't aloud anyway?! so i very worried about what their photographer will be like we are getting married at 3 and are having the free package and adding extras and are thinking of having a private reception on a terrace from 4 and paying extra to have the bar open so we don't have to split things up i think this costs $6 dollars per person per hour? any info you guys have would be great being in the uk it is very hard to get any information and i have e-mailed the hotel serveral times but no one has go back to me which is slightly worrying. my agant has told me that i can just sort everything out when i arrive but looking on the web site it states you need to book all private receptions 60 day prior to wedding date?

Hi all i wonder if there is anyone else out there getting married at moon palace who has any info to share with me? being in the UK i found found it V difficult to get any usefull info. i mean the hotel looks fab but they do not answer e-mails which is a worry? anyway 14weeks and counting woo hoo!!!
