Hey ladies, I just purchased some of Old Navy's linen pants that are $29.50 for our groomsmen this afternoon. They did have some long sleeved linen shirts that I wasn't crazy over, so we did not purchase those and will look elsewhere. However I did get my FI two pairs of the linen pants and two of the short sleeved linen shirts - great for dinner at the resort. I like the white and light blue color the best. Short sleeved linen shirts - $19.50: Women's & Men's Clothes: Plus Size, Maternity, Baby & Kid's Clothing | Old Navy Linen pants (they also have cargo style but the other style looked more weddingish) Women's & Men's Clothes: Plus Size, Maternity, Baby & Kid's Clothing | Old Navy

1st Planning Post- ****PIC HEAVY!!

Everything looks great Shannon. I love your colors. Everything came together so nicely. -
I never heard of Fat Smash - sounds interesting. My sister and I have found that the best diet (that is not like being on a diet) is Summersizing - yes it's Suzanne Summer's diet she came out with a few years ago. It's amazing. It is just food combining and separation which Europeans have done for years. It's fantastic because you can have carbs, fats, fruits, and protiens but you just eat them in the right combinations. We try to eat like this regularly but when we need to lose a few pounds, we'll follow it strictly. My sister can drop about 5 pounds in a week on it. It takes me a little longer. A friend of mine who introduced me to it lost 20 pounds on it. PM me if you want some more information on it.

I was reading some trip advisor reviews (obsessed) and the burger/pizza place just burnt down at EDR. There is now no place to get a quick lunch at the resort. This isn't a big deal to me because I'm not going to Mexico to have burgers, but it's going to be tough on some of my pickier guests who were counting on this place to be their primary food source!

Instrumental Versions & Sheet Music
nolaroy724 replied to Christine's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
These are good finds. Has anyone found other instrumental collections to use for their weddings? I'm specifically looking for accoustic guitar or something with a beachy or tropical feel to it? I found a cd called the Calypso Collection on Itunes but don't know if that is what I want. I just want something to play when my guests arrive. -
Like many of you, we always knew we wanted a DW. Here are the reasons: 1. My family is in Colorado and his in Louisiana - make everyone travel! 2. We are paying for it ourselves - get a vacation, wedding, in honeymoon for what we would pay for flowers and a Dj at most traditional weddings! 3. Have an excuse to not invite the family and friends that are really just there for the beer 4. We went to a DW in Mexico of some friends and knew without a doubt we wanted the same thing. It was intimate, a blast, and so amazing. We are such good friends with that couple because of that trip. 5. We have been to upwards of 15-20 weddings in the six years years (its slowed since those couples are now having babies), and like a lot of you could not fathom doing another cookie cutter wedding.

Can anyone help with prices that you have been quoted, I just am practically crying thinking of spending over $416 for 30 mins use that I then have to pay all over again for my dinner at Tucanes, surely the w/c has made a mistake? Im sorry to ramble on, I was just taken aback!! Annaxx I thought the chairs without covers were $7 but the chairs with covers and bows were $13. With that said, if you have in writing (email) that they quoted you $7 for chairs with bows, then maybe you would have some leverage. Speaking of ceremony's, can everyone please tell me what you are doing for your ceremony as far as decorations if you are having a beach ceremony? 1. Are you doing the hanging corsages? 2. Are you doing chair covers and bows (what color bows)? 3. Are you having a runner? 4. What color runner? 5. Are you doing rose petals? 6. Any other decorations (ie fans?) 7. What bouquet choices are you doing if doing it from the lomas site? 8. Any unique elements (ie sand ceremony, songs, readings, etc.) I know some of you have mentioned this throughout this thread, but I am making some of these decisions right now and would like to see what others are doing. Any recent EDR brides have any suggestions as to what they would and wouldn't do again for the ceremony locations and decorations?

EDR weddings
nolaroy724 replied to KirstenRN6's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
One of the reasons I picked EDR is the travel agent assured me it was not a wedding factory. I'm getting married on a Thursday, so there is a good chance I'll be the only bride as opposed to a Saturday. -

Maybe someone can find that out for you since there are several of us on here getting married in May. That would be great if someone would let me know how the cd player turns out. Maybe include this in your reviews!!!! 2 1/2 months, how exciting!!

How long did you date before enagaged?
nolaroy724 replied to Tamster808's topic in Share your Wedding & Engagement Stories!
5.5 years together, 5 living together, and over 6 years by the time of the ceremony. Our guys sure don't jump into things too hastily, do they?! -

Used the same set-up at the ceremony, and they let our DJ friend just take complete control fo the set list. I can't imagine spending all the extra money for live music at the ceremony. maybe at the reception if you really have your heart set on it! Whew, that makes me feel a lot better. The music is really important to me.

I know we have discussed the ceremony music before and some of you are using live music and some of you used or will use the cd player. Honestly, for those who have used the cd player, how did it sound? There is an episode of My Name is Earl when Joy marries Crabman and she is making her wedding tape by recording songs off of the radio to play on a little boombox in the park. I keeping thinking of this when I think about using EDR's CD player for the ceremony! I'm afraid of bad sound quality, not playing the right song at the right time, I guess the usual concerns most have with this topic. We absolutely do not have it in our budget to pay for a musician.
