  1. I am only paying for one friend's trip because she's an amazing photog and is going to take my pictures and do a TTD session the next day, so it was worth the cost!!!!
  2. Here's mine: We live 50 minutes from my FI's family and only see them twice a year if that. My family is 1200 miles away. Which is fine because they are insane. I'm secretly sad that I'm not marrying into a close family that spends a lot of time together because I've never had that. His neices and nephews barely know my name, and we have been dating for almost 6years. Who knows, maybe this is a blessing?! LOL! Oh, and I hate my mom's husband and get sick to my stomach at the fact that he will be at the wedding and my dad won't.
  3. I'm a development officer at LSU. I raise money/write grants for the College of Business. I'm also in grad school part time to earn my MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science).

  5. My FI bought me one for Christmas and some DVDs (I asked - so, no, he's not a jerk - lol). The DVDs are called The Iron Core Way. I'm using a 15 lb kettle bell. I really like it, and it has been great for toning my back (which is a must in my dress). You can get some bruises on your wrist from them, so you should wear wrist bands. Knowing me, I'm probably doing it wrong. Regardless, I haven't done it much, but I intend to really step it up, now that I am at the 5 1/2 month mark!
  6. For you guys who are doing the cocktail parties, what are you doing about chairs? I know chairs are not included.
  7. Thanks for the checklist, Morgan. I'm 5 1/2 months out and have sooooo much to do still. I think from here on out will be the fun stuff!
  8. My wedding is just a little over five months away, and I just went dress shopping yesterday. Luckily I found "the one." Yes, it was that "ahh" moment that everyone talks. I also knew it was the one because I didn't want to take it off and kept trying to steal peeks in the mirror while another bride was up on the platform. My friend got teary eyed too. Of course, we found the thing after at least 50 dresses and two bridal salons! My friend found it while she was slumped over in the corner from exhaustion and dehydration. She kept saying, I thought they were supposed to give you mimosas at these places?! She just looked up and started yelling at me from across the store saying quick, hurry up, get in the dressing room. I thought she stole a dress from another bride's dressing room or something, but she said she just knew it would be the one. Sorry, I don't have a picture of me in it. Looking at this picture online, I would have never thought twice about the dress. Because of BDW, I knew to try on anything and everything!!! I am going to have the layers of tulle underneath ripped out, so it won't be so poufy and structured. I am also going to have the train removed. Hopefully it will be more beachy then. I know many of the girls have dresses of this material, and it is surprisingly light. Moonlight Bridal - Romanticaly Elegant
  9. Shea, everything looked amazing. You two look so happy. I love the parasols and BM picture too. You have some rockin' abs on you girl! You are now my motivation!!
  10. Bre, everything looked wonderful. I LOVE pic 37. You and Shea have me so excited for mine. Can't wait to read the review.
  11. Welcome back Bre. I totally want to switch gazebos now, especially after seeing your slideshow. You looked amazing!
  12. I know we have had the photographer discussion many times, but my friend is a photographer and will be staying at the resort for 7 days, 6 nights. She therefore is just a guest taking pictures, right? I shouldn't have to deal with any of the fees, right? I'm afraid to ask Monica.
  13. Jennifer (Jwolfe72) is doing that. I think she told me it was $8/person and then the setup cost for music. We're considering doing that as well. How is the cake there by the way? Does anyone know?
  14. I'm 5'2" as well, and my FI is 6'2", so you can understand my concern as well. Hmmm, I'll have to ask Monica abou that portable walkway. Thanks!
  15. They are all so beautiful. I love the group shot with you two kissing to the side. Also love the Corona shot and the Karate Kid shot. The pink was beautful as well.

  17. I have been searching hi and low for starfish envelope seals. I finally found some. A little pricey, but you can customize the color. Love that. Now and Forever: Envelope seals - Shell Custom Seal

I never thought about the other half meeting me half way...I kind of like that. I think having your little brother walk you down the aisle is very sweet, as is having your son do it. As for the idea of having your FI meet you halfway, I really love the symbolism of both of you walking for a bit on your own (life before you met), meeting halfway (layers of symbolism here), and then begining your new journey into marriage together. Regardless of what you ladies decide, I know your ceremonies will be beautiful and special.
