That stinks! I have gotten on your website before and read through the things about your BMs. I felt very happy for you to have so many close friends. I am experiencing some of the same things. I am so excited about the wedding and I feel like no one wants to talk about it. I guess that is how it is. As far as them talking behind your back, I don't think it was malicious. I think that L was probably worried about hurting you and wanted advice before talking to you. I would probably be hurt too but I think it was probably innocent.

Thank you, everyone, for your help! I guess I am just cranky because I know that they totally could help but aren't. They also just made travel arrangements and just got passports. I guess I sorta feel like if things were at home, things would be handled differently and that is making me mad. oh well, I am not as cranky today about it, which is good. Oh, and like I said, the wedding is free so there are not many expenses anyway. I think this adds to my crankiness because FMIL and I had a conversation about the added expenses. anyway, thanks, again!

Ann, I know that you are right. I know that I should not be bratty about this but if I was having a wedding at home, I know that they would pay for things and i guess that is the annoyance. I will try to take you positive thoughts and keep repeating them to make my bitchiness go away! Thanks! Monica, there is no way that he would say that to his parents and that annoys me to!

i have an idea, when things don't go well with consumers, sometimes they call the local news. You know what I mean, those "I team investigators." Usually that solves the problem. Maybe you could threaten with the BBB and the local media. Even if it is just a newspaper, a lot of places would not like the negative press and would cave. Good luck, let us know!

They are totally okay financially to help. I think that they just don't know what is their responsibility. IMO it is better to make an effort than do nothing

oh, and don't get me wrong, I am sooooooo thankful that my parents are paying for what they are! it is just annoying to me that there has not even been a phone call!

So, we are getting married at ROR, we are having the free wedding. Our actual expenses include the steel drum band, the extra things like flowers, cake upgrade, attire, and rings. Oh, and travel of course! Both my parents and FI parents are financially okay. My parents are paying for travel for them, my little sis, her boyfriend, my bro, his wife, their 2 kids, FI, my grandma, and I. They are also paying for my dress, the steel drum band and the cake and flowers. I am sorta annoyed cause his parents did not offer to pay for anything. Shouldn't they? I feel like my parents are taking the total responsibility. His mom said to me something about how the groom's family typically pays for rehersal dinner. She then said, i guess you will not have a rehersal dinner. I told her about the other expenses. Am I being a brat for wanting them to call my parents and offer to pay for something? A phone call would make me happy. It is just really getting on my nerves! Thanks, in advance!

We went to steven singer today and loved it. it is a crazy place! we got our rings! We saved so much money by going to the city instead of staying in the burbs!

actually, i was tricked today! He said we were going to look at rings but instead we had to stay sorta close to home to watch stupid football! anyway, we are going tomorrow.
