What is your favorite 100-calorie snack pack?
Helen_S81 replied to MarieSam's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
I like the chocolate covered pretzels! They are hard to find though but they satisfy both the sweet and the salty craving -
Congratulations Erin! You did a great job!

PV RIU Vallerta
Helen_S81 replied to asara's topic in Destination Weddings in Puerto Vallarta & surrounding areas
There are a couple of threads already on this resort: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t36651 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t32673 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t21027 Try using the search function (at the top of the screen). Also search for Riu Jalisco, reviews by Raeka as she got married there. -

The Riu site does list prices for flowers (ie Brides Bouquet 70USD, Bridesmaid Bouquet 30USD etc.) but I'm not sure if those are the same prices if you don't have a wedding package. I don't have a good answer for you but maybe someone else can help?

JennyK's JW Marriott Wedding Review
Helen_S81 replied to JennyK's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
I'm so glad that your actual wedding turned out as you wanted after so much planning! I can not wait to see your pictures. Congratulations Jenny and Greg. -
That is too bad about Greg's leg. How is he doing now?

Katie & Chris used the Riu florist. I believe that all of the packages (Caprice, Classic and Royal) include a brides bouquet and boutonniere for the groom. I think that there were a selection of tropical flowers to chose from. The bridesmaid bouquets cost them $30 each and there were also some extra boutonniere's for groomsmen and the father of the bride but I don't know how much they cost.

I'm not sure why they are doing this now as all the payments have been processed already? The tickets are all already paid for! Sorry this is happening to you now as it must be so stressful for you!
-
I don't know about the credit card stuff. But not having any tickets until the last minute kind of freaked me out too. Chris & Katie had made all of the arrangements and dealt with the travel agent. The only time I spoke with the travel agent was to provide my credit card information. Because ours was a group reservation, the tickets were delivered to Chris and Katie and it was up to them to distribute them. According to the Terms & Conditions here Sunquest Vacations: Terms and Conditions "Tickets: 1) Tickets are available 28 days prior to flight departure. All tickets and vouchers are produced in electronic format and will be forwarded to your travel agent. E-documents must be presented along with proper identification (see section on Documentation) at check-in for departure flight, return flight, and for other purchased services such as hotel accommodations and car rentals." So I would contact your travel agent because it's within the 28 days so the tickets should be coming soon!

Katie did not do a welcome/rehearsal dinner. The mother of the groom, the bride and groom, and I discussed it and decided against it. We were together nearly every night after dinner drinking anyway. No ceremony rehearsal. We let everyone know in advance of leaving Canada that we were doing the Rythmns of the Night tour, what day and how to book. I think around 20 of us went on that. The grooms godmother arranged a bus and tour of downtown Puerto Vallarta which she did once she got down there. We were with Sunquest and she arranged it with the rep on the resort. She then went around the whole group and anyone who wanted to go paid her directly and she took care of everything. About 20 of us went on that one and we had our own bus. There were a couple of other smaller groups of people that went on excursions together such as scuba, speed boats and ziplinning that were all booked once we got down there. One of the guys booked 3 tee off times for golf in advance and inivted different guys along to each one. This was one of the things that was so cool. Some one would say they wanted to do something and someone else from the group would go along too. People who had never met before hung out together. All aspects of Katie & Chris family and friends brought together. Nearly everyone was easy going and no one expected to be entertained.

I just heard that all drinks at rest were a charge and that confuses me........... Sorry to confuse you! The house wine is free and we were offered that. I really like wine but didn't care so much for the house wine. We knew that there was an additional charge for chosing one off the wine list and how much it was going to be as the prices were listed beside each wine. We did not pay for anything else we drank last week, either at the bars or in the restaurants.

It looks to me like the dress and tuxedo do not count towards your hand luggage weight restriction according to the Skyservice website under the FAQ's: Skyservice Q. Can I carry my wedding dress onboard? A. We do allow brides to carry their wedding dresses and grooms to carry their tuxedos onboard as a courtesy in addition to their carry-on bag. Please note, however, that we do not have hanging facilities in our aircraft, and therefore, the dress and tuxedo must be folded and stowed in the overhead compartments with other bags.

Katie and Chris did write something to say to each other, but I can't quite remember the order of the ceremony. I know that the wedding co-ordinator came and found Katie in the spa the morning of the wedding and told her that what she had written was way too long and they cut it down. They both had something written out which they used to read from during the ceremony (I just checked and I have a photograph of it).

Aldo Tovar Photography, has anyone used him?
Helen_S81 replied to pvbride2009's topic in Puerto Vallarta Wedding Vendors
He was the resort photographer at the Riu Vallarta and photographed my daughters wedding. Here is a link to some of the pictures I have online Katie & Chris Professional pictures pictures from friends & fun photos on webshots I do notice that looking through his gallery here Aldo Tovar Photographer that many of the shots are very similar to those of my daughters but we were happy with the photos that we got. The wedding was on the Wednesday and he came to the resort on Friday with the photographs on his laptop for them to go through. They stayed an extra week and when they came home they had the DVD of the ceremony, a DVD with the high resolution photographs on it (about 110 pictures), and an album with 15(?) pictures printed out. -
Happy Birthday Celina! I'm glad you had a good weekend celebration. Wishing you lots of good health and happiness!

I just got this one LOLË Collection & LOLË Collection (I know you said one piece but this is like a one piece but in two pieces and I'm between a size 8 to 10 so I got a medium). I love the bathing suits made by this company and they seem to fit a more mature body better than some other brands. I know a friend who got one from them last year and it is great! I went to a local store and tried on similar styles and then they ordered it for me in the colour and size I wanted. I paid $110 for both pieces so it wasn't cheap but I feel great in it. -
Some other pictures around the resort. Beach Palapa or See & Sea by day: Around the Plaza Colon: We enjoyed this vacation at this resort and if anyone has any questions I will try and answer although I think that there are some other members with better knowledge on this than me. But I’ll do my best! Link to slideshow: Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket

I saw the beach palapa set up for what I think could have been the rehearsal dinner and managed to get some pictures. The wet bar set up for the cake and dancing part of the reception. I did see the cake being carried down but did not get pictures. It was two tiered, cream coloured with some flowers made from the same colour icing.
