I'm sorry Steph. This may not be something you cant do but i'm refinancing right now and i have to pay a fee at settlement in order for my house not to have to be re-appraised again (my house would be appraised for a little less than what we owe). And i'm basically getting a little more than that fee back anyway when i get some of my escrow back. so it kinda evens out for us. Is that not an option for you?

I know its hard but you just need to forget about them and enjoy your time there, enjoy your fi, and enjoy all the guests that did come and said SCREW the flu! Plus if you think they were just looking for an excuse not to come wouldnt you rather they not come. People like that usually complain about every little thing and you dont need someone like that down there with you while your trying to have fun. Your wedding is going to be great and they will be missing out.

I am TTCing right now and if someone asked me to wait 6 months it would be a HUGE deal. I cant say i want to get pregnant in a month and than BAM i'm pregnant. it doesnt work that way. It could take me a year or more of trying to get pregnant. You never know. It seems like a lot of women travel pregnant with no problems. I'm sure if she's not too far along she can go. If i were you, I would just be happy for my friend and if my friend couldnt make my wedding, yeah i would be bummed for a few minutes but i would realize that my friends health and the health of her baby is really more important. I know when your a b2b you are focused on your wedding, how you want everything to be perfect, you want every detail planned out, and you know who you want there. But unfortunately it doesnt always work out that way, you have to adjust your plans a little. So count her as your moh and if she cant make it than you have someone else step in or you dont have a wedding party at all, you just have to roll with the punches. It may not be exactly what you pictured in your head but the main thing is that your marrying the man of your dreams.

Beth congratulations. So glad everything worked out even with all the cancelations. Your flowers were gorgeous. I had to pay for the daypass for my photog and also for her meal at the reception. So i think its pretty typical of AIs to charge them for all outside vendors whether they eat/drink or not.

I think that is really short notice. Is there anyway she could get an extension for at least a couple of weeks. And than you could send all of your guests a quick letter saying if they want to guarantee them a spot to send a $100 depsoit down. I had a month to get my guests to put down deposits so i sent out a quick letter with my Save the Date magnets. nothing special just a letter explaining the costs and a description of the resort.

That sucks. Chantal could you fly into the US and than fly to Mexico from there? or would the cost not be worth it? i'm sure the resort can accomadate your change so you can have a "real" honeymoon. There's probably a lot of people canceling.
