Hi Amanda, welcome to the forum. I'm getting married in the Dominican at the Paradisus Palma Real. Our resort is on Bavaro beach which is very beautiful, it has the white sand with palm trees. But it didn't really offer different room options. Some of the resorts we looked at were Melia Caribe, Paradisus Punta Cana (a little less expensive than the palma real), and the Iberostar. All of them are in Punta Cana, DR. They all looked pretty nice. And they all allowed kids. Melia and iberostar looked very kid friendly. They are all all-inclusive also. A new resort just opened up called the EdenH, it looks incredible from the pics, i'm not sure if kids are allowed. If you want any specific info on the Palma Real just let me know.

Welcome to the forum. Both hotels are really nice! But i don't know anything about weddings at either of them.

I agree with all the other girls. FI needs to stand up to his mom. If you do it you'll probably just make it worse. And if she keeps acting like this you're going to flip on her when you reach your breaking point. FI needs to put an end to this. And I also agree with you not including her anymore with any wedding related things. You gave her a chance to be involved and she was a b**** about it so forget her from now on!

My resort adds 26% to our bill for tax and gratuities. not sure if any of that goes to wc though.

Hi Sarah welcome to the forum. Choosing a resort is the hardest part of planning a DW imo. Once you decide that, everything should start to fall into place for you. Goodluck with your decision. I'm sure whatever resort you pick will be wonderful, that's a very nice area you choose.

I would ask her if I was in your situation. Even though things may still feel a little strange now, that feeling will pass. Do you feel like you want to be as close as you were before the falling out? When is your wedding? Is this something you can wait a few months to ask her, just to see how things go.

It does take a couple of days for most wc in DR to get back to you. My TA told me that a lot of the employees don't read english. So they need someone else to translate the email to them before writing back. I had trouble with the Dreams WC in Punta Cana and I ended up switching to PPR. It normally takes her 2 days to get back to me, but i think that's pretty quick. Goodluck getting a response.

MY TA is getting our room upgraded to Royal Service for free but we have about 12 rooms booked for 7nts and 3 other booked for 4 nts. My TA was from liberty travel, their sale rate at the time was less than the group rate from PPR. but the sale was up on Dec 22nd. I've been on tours with GoGo before, never heard of them doing travel arrangements besides tours. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get a good low price!
