  4. i agree with amanda, the two bars in the pavillion are Ole' and Bravo, both are identical and there is plenty of seating nearby. it would be free if you just plan on telling everyone to meet at one or the other, since the drinks are all inclusive, no need to set up and pay for anything unless you wanted something exclusive and private. i am going to look thru my pics real quick and see if i can find one for you BRB.... OK these are crappy pics but hopefully will help you get an idea. this is the area that both Ole and Bravo are on either side of, so the part of the picture you can see, just to the left and just to the right outside the picture is where these 2 identical bars are located. and in this picture you can sort of see one of the bars, (far right side of pic) as if you were walking thru the pavillion towards the main lobby. this bar is also located just outside the sports bar, fyi. they are both 4-sided, open air bars. no privacy, but totally A/I.
  5. OK everyone, it's Friday, so I'm going to leave the Noms open until Monday so that weekend-only people can get their nominations in, and so that weekday-only members (who should be working, haha) can add someone they might have thought about over the weekend. That leaves 3 full days left for getting those names in! PSA-- If anyone knows some newer active members that havent nominated anyone yet, please spread the word about MothM to them by directing them to this thread. We want to get as many people involved in this as possible! Everyone is welcome, and I've seen too many senior people saying they don't know anyone maybe you guys should be welcoming the newbies? hmmmmmm? heehee
  6. Great Noms, everyone, keep 'em coming!
  7. heather i'm sorry to hear this news i hope everything works out ok this happened to my mom's husband last month and can you believe it turned out to be a pulled muscle in his shoulder! they didnt figure it out until AFTER they did an angiogram. so try not to stress until you know what is really going on. hugs and good wishes are being sent your way
  8. yari, its not that actual hotel names Los Arcos, with the buffet/restaurant right next to their little pool, in the romantic zone, is it? thats where doug and i got engaged!
  9. Don't forget when you vote, vote for 1 Mrs., and 1 Bride to Be Each of you should have 2 nominees.
  10. yari that was a great review and i'm sad that it was not perfect in every way for you but i am glad that your pics turned out so beautifully, and that you looked like a fairytale princess in your amazing dress!
  11. Happy Fall Everyone! It's that time again to nominate MothM's, this time for October! We have so many new members that many of you may not know about this contest! "MothM" is short for Member of the Month. Each month we open a thread where you can nominate a member as a "Mrs." or as a "B2B" (Bride to Be). The rules are: A) Please limit your choices - 1 nominee per category (if you post more, only the first nominee will count) The winners from the past 3 months cannot be nominated. (Because we havent really done this contest since May, we'll just remind you of the last winners we did have, who are NOT eligible. We will then just continue as if it were uninterupted.) May: Alyssa and Christine April: Maura and LC_Rachel March:Yari and Sarah We will post a Poll with your nominations early next week, so we can vote on our Mrs. and B2B for October by the end of the month. Happy Nominating!
  12. haha i thought it has been a while since we've been reminded of this, and as you can see i was one of the last couple of people to "learn" about it so i thought it would be fitting if i 'ed it!

  15. car its beautiful! i LOVE the color and fabric, it really looks great! and somehow i missed you posting the hair pics, your cut is perfect! i might have to fly over and go to your stylist!!!!
  16. i agree with carly, it is lovely BUT you get the chance to do it again, might as well go for another option! how fun!
  17. doug (who used to be a baggage handler for alaska airlines when we met!) says that his favorite bags to load used to be ricardo, samsonite, and swiss army. they had good features and were easy to handle
  18. ok so regardless of how anyone feels personally about either candidate, i think it is really cool that BOTH came out to do SNL, and to reach out to the HUGE younger voter audience that they both have. its great that they realize what the future is made of! and, i laughed at all 3 clips, but most of all at amy poehler for doing that rap so close to giving birth! now she deserves some credit!
  19. yolanda, 1st LOVE the new siggy! gorgeous! 2nd, it would be interesting to read the womens, then the mens version. just to compare how it is explained to both sexes might be good! I think I'm definitely going to pick up a copy tomorrow! I see they even have a "men's edition". Thanks Morgan.

DANG GIRL, we are one in the same. i was about to reply the same things toy did. doug is SO acts of service, while i am torn between QT and PT does it say anything about people who are 2 languages??
  21. alyssa, my mom has it (not sure which plan) but i know that she likes how you cxan go online and organize/re-organize your next-up list, so you will automatically get the next one you request. of course this could be a con to some people, if you tend to pick random movies and maybe you get one you werent in the mood to watch.??
  22. also joanns is great cause the people that work there are all pretty experienced in the world of sewing, so you should totally go in and pick their brains. i bet they could tell you what to get that will best fit what you need it too.
  23. my mom has a 30+ yr old viking husqvarna that she got around when i was born and its still fantastic! even tho we have a machine at our house i will drive 45 mins to her house when i need to projects, like hemming all of ali's new school jeans each year.
