  1. calia, post a pic! you know we cant give advice without pics
  2. there are only 3 gifts i really want: 1 is the Sony Reader. its like a ipod, only the size of a very small paperback book, and its only for books. you download them and it can hold a bunch of books, instead of carrying around a couple on vacation you can have a whole library! another thing i'd really like is a car stereo for my new car, it only came with the crappy stock one. and hte 3rd thing i woulndt mind is an upgraded wedding band, but i dont think its quite time yet haha, only been a few months

  14. tammy that is fantastic news! nov 15, does this mean anyone who had a previously booked reservation to check in that day or later would be allowed to continue as planned?

  16. so jamy, or anyone, what happens when they "call" a vote decision, but then the numbers change when the absentee ballots roll in? does the call change? how do they make the final, binding call?
  17. i would like an exit poll of how many people voted wrong, like thought that they were voting FOR same sex marriage to stay legal, by voting YES. those ones are always so confusing, and there are so many ignorant voters who never even open their voters pamphlet (sp?) or do any research whatsoever before voting. i wish before they decided to call the vote, they would make a new special vote for people who got mixed up, so they could say "wait! i messed up!". it would be really interesting to find out, especially because it was so close.

NO, they don't learn about marriage (gay or otherwise) in school, but YES they do learn about the LAW from their family and friends and people they are supposed to look up to. if the law in california and elsewhere says to my kids that its not "right", i shudder to think what other things they may "decide" about whats right and wrong in the world. i am going to sit down with them tonight and have a discussion about it.
  19. yay lisa! i hope today is everything you've been dreaming of! congrats and i cant wait to see pics!

  22. yum jamy! didnt know about the KK one! woohoo! i love my donuts! and i live 4 mins from one! oooh tami! that bbq place could get in trouble! Starbucks vote promo gets decaffeinated Posted: Tuesday, November 04, 2008 3:36 PM by Carrie Dann Filed Under: 2008, Pete Williams, Making Your Vote Count From NBC's Pete Williams Starbucks, which announced in an ad on "Saturday Night Live" that it would give a free coffee to anyone who came in on Election Day and said, "I voted," has been forced to change its plan. Now anyone who wants the free coffee gets it, voter or not. It turns out that a giveaway to voters could violate election laws in some states that prohibit gifts for voters. While these laws are generally intended to discourage attempts to influence voters, the lawyers were worried the Starbucks policy might be a violation. "To ensure we are in compliance with election law, we extended our offer to all customers who request a tall brewed coffee," says Tara Darrow of Starbucks.
