  1. hi Kim, Welcome to BDW! personally i wouldnt be able to afford a dress like that, and if a friend asked me to do that, i would be offended (basically because any of MY friends should know i cant afford it!) BUT i know my situation doesnt apply to everyone. if your friends are young, single, with no bills, responsibilities etc, and you know they are able to afford something like that, then go for it! another option is to shop around. you may be able to find a very similar dress that everyone could afford and you wouldnt have to question if its too much. or, is there something specific about it you love? the color, style, etc? you could always search similar details for a different less expensive option.
  2. congrats! you are already WAY ahead of so many, no worries! you've got almost an entire year, AND youve already booked your resort! thats awesome welcome to BDW, we're so happy to have you!

  8. whenever my eyes get too dry, one or the other will water a lot. try using some eye drops, not like visine, but like "blink" or "murine" brands. usually your eye is watering trying to lubricate itself, so altho adding more liquid might seem odd, it should do the trick! hope that helps!
  9. Hi everyone! I'm Abbie and I've been a long time member since 2007, and moderator since 2008. My husband and I were lucky enough to have 2 weddings, one we refer to as our Big Freaking Wedding, which was at home with 150 guests, and our dream wedding on the beach at Santa Maria Bay in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico a few days later. We live 15 minutes South of Seattle (on a day with no traffic!) with 2 kids, 3 chihuahuas, and 2 huge cats. Who's next?

    Hi

Hi Future Bride! i took a day trip to LC last year and wow, it was absolutely amazing! a wedding there would be to die for congrats! ps have you seen the LC thread? its full of TONS of info!
  12. oh i did find this about dolce vita in my review: "For dinner we had reservations at Dolce Vita, the “Italian” a la cart in the Akumal section. We went early because we were hungry, just in case they had people not show up, but nope they were busy so we went and sat on some beach chairs enjoying the night view. I had some sort of ravioli with spinach/cheese I guess, and Doug had what he thought was going to be chicken cordon bleu, but was just sort of some kind of chicken dish. They both tasted just fine to us, no problems there. Dessert I had tiramisu (better than decent) and Doug had some ice cream with sweet roll thing. Over all, it was a good, decent meal with a nice waiter. Cant ask for much more than that!"
  13. so sorry i dont have reception pics but i did stay at tulum for our honeymoon! you can use the link in my siggy to see my review. we had an amazing time. (i realize you want GBP Akumal info but i remember when planning i was obsessed with anything related to the resort hope that makes sense!)
  14. i dont think i gave my hubby anything! i dont think you really have to, i mean its a nice gesture but ive always thought the rings are the gifts to eachother. a lot of girls do boudoir pics which are really fun, but your window of time has kind of passed. what about a nice watch or money clip, suitcase set, hmmmm. splurge on awesome tickets to his favorite sports team?
  15. welcome girlnextdoor! so happy to have you
  16. i cant specifically say for the priest, but i do know lots of venues, photographers, and other vendors dont usually book further out than a year. hope this helps!
  17. sorry i dont have one for you, but what a great idea! i dont know why but all the passport invites ive seen have been US, not canada. im sure someone has to have one! i do know that a lot of girls used one of our fabulous invitation vendors rather than DIY, and the girls who did DIY came up with their own powerpoint template using clip art, etc. hope you find what youre looking for!
