  1. welcome cabo newbies! im so excited to see a bunch of RIU santa fe girls, we stayed there our wedding week and it was really perfect for us. if i had to pick a hotel to have had my wedding at (instead of secluded beach!) we would have just done it there.
  2. i agree with kelly. i think its never too late to say thank you and also i dont think your heart will feel settled until you do what feel is the right thing, so i say go for it! and i like the gift basket idea, but it doesnt have to be over the top. afterall, you are thanking him for a thank you treat in the first place.
  3. what fun pics! more more more! ps i love how your photog made everything look soft and glowy, so pretty
  4. joann, the pics look fantastic and you look so happy! i remember when i first became a member, and read about your disney engagement (that was you, right? so long ago it seems!) im sorry things got fudged up for you but i am so happy you sound so positive and that you remembered the most important part, the love you share with your HUSBAND! congrats and best wishes for a long and happy marriage

  6. since you still have different last names, you can fill out separate paperwork on the plane and go thru one after another. or even if you go thru at the same time, when you get to the red light/green light just let someone else between you and push separately. that way if one of you gets the red they will be searched and hopefully the other will get a green and you wont have to both unpack everything.
  7. i've got a good feeling about this, i think the first dress was not meant to be yours but i think you will find THE dress on monday! ++++++++++fingers crossed+++++++++++ that you will find the perfect dress!!!!
  8. ok i love anything pink, but white is sooooo awesome on the beach. are you doing the beach or the gazebo?? i'm torn. but i think if you do beach it should be white and gazebo it should be pink.
  9. if you can afford it i would recommend a sight visit for sure! make sure to do as much research as you can before you pick a city to check out, and try to visit all the hotels/venues that you can while you are there so you cna get a great comparison. that way you can see which site has the best offer for what you are looking for and be sure to post a site review when you get back! we love pics! ps i moved this thread here from the newbies section since its more of a discussion thread and also you have a welcome thread already
  10. hope it was magical and everything you dreamed it would be!
  11. love the eyes and hair, so pretty! keep them both!
  12. yay congrats on becoming legal! wow 7 days left!! soooo exciting!
  13. oh tammy how cute are those? your dogs are so good for you, posing in clothes! chica will get dressed up just fine but she always ends up climbing out of the neck hole of her dresses, and frank HATES hats and collars on his shirts, he tries to eat them
  14. for our at home wedding we asked everyone to wear "colors of the surf and sand" like aqua, turquiose, tan, dark brown, and to go "beach formal" like flip flops with tommy bahama shirts and slacks, etc. not everone did the color scheme other than immediate family, but everyone except my uncle (out of 120+) did go with the beach formal theme, and it really looks cool in the group shots then for our cabo wedding we had 20 people and it was all immediate family who pretty much all wore what they had for the wedding at home, so those pics turned out cool too-everyone in aqua/turquoise/brown. it was really fun!
  15. i dont think its tacky, especially if you are trying to convey a specific theme idea for the wedding as a whole. for example, i had a huge at home wedding before our cabo wedding. we didnt do the boarding pass idea, but we did do the message in a bottle STD's, and we had palm trees at the "altar" and went totally beachy with the theme, from starfish and sand dollars and sand in the centerpieces, to a grass mat aislerunner, to chocolate seashell cupcake toppers, etc. i think the more you keep up with the theme idea, the more people will feel like they participated in a "tropical destination" wedding, even if not everyone had to travel far or if you were really in a beach location or not. basically i say go for it!! remember, boarding passes are for ANY destination, regardless of in or out of the country.
  16. hi nicole! welcome! i have a good friend who was married at le kliff about 3 years ago, i wasnt able to go but it turned out amazing! the pictures looked like they had an awesome time!
  17. hahahaha lauren i think i'm going to steal your problem with reds. it sounds so much more grown up to say "it gives me migrains" rather than "it makes me cry like a baby"
  18. oh and it was morgan who had "unofficial bridesmaids" and also carly had some who went to jamaica and also some others who were only at the AHR. there are so many diff ways to do it. i know that wasnt really what you were getting at, it seems like it was more of you being sad about the friends situation. BUT maybe just telling FI that him having his dad and you not having someone standing with you makes you sad and you would rather not do it that way?? also, you never know, tomorrow you could meet a really cool person who becomes a great friend over the next couple months, and maybe they can do it! FI's dad could always be asked to stand up at the last min a few weeks before the wedding if you end up with a MOH. i wish i lived closer, i would be your MOH {HUGS}
  19. i was thinking, maybe could you still have no bridal party but could FI's dad walk YOU down the aisle? i know its supposed to be the brides dad, but many girls have had their brothers or moms or someone close to them do it instead. so maybe that would be a good solution, still have no wedding party, but also a great way to include his dad.
  20. haha back to the bottle i would love to like red wine but it makes me weepy, like "i love you, and i love you, and i love you too!" with tears and the whole works. weird! but i love a rose', like beringer has a sparkling one that is SO yummy!
