Here's the link to their website: "Turtle Bay Cafe and Bakery", Akumal, Riviera Maya, Mexico, full service restaurant nice i actually looked them up on tripadvisor today and look what i found! TripAdvisor Popularity Index: #1 of 20 restaurants in Akumal Cuisines: American Price range*: $25-$195 Recommended For: Breakfast/Brunch Address: Plaza Ukana, Akumal 77770, Mexico Phone: 984-875-9138 Website: "Turtle Bay Cafe and Bakery", Akumal, Riviera Maya, Mexico, full service restaurant “Heard this was the place for breakfast in Akumal and we were not disappointed! The crab cake benedict was just what I wanted. The hollandaise was good and with a hint of spice I could not name. My friend had crispy tortillas under huevos rancheros with tasty beans and sour cream. Upon tasting our first bites we both went "mmm" at the same time. We sat in the large, open air palapa and chatted with an American now living in Akumal, working and helping with spay and neuter programs. The cafe sometimes does benefits for programs there. The wait staff was busy, efficient and polite. We left a big tip and a "Muy Rico!" to let them know how much we did like it, in case they missed our obvious pleasure. According to their website, breakfast is served 7am-12, lunch 12-3pm daily and dinner Tuesday - Saturday 6-9pm. Also the bakery is available for wedding cakes. They offer free wi-fi for patrons. We each had coca lites and jugo de pinas and our total was about $20. Very well spent. I highly recommend The Turtle Bay Cafe!” You get there by veering to the left as you come through the “front gate” of Akumal. Its in a little cluster of restaurants and shops. so yes we will for SURE be going there in about 12 days, give or take there were 5 reviews (i think) on TA and they were all good, except for one food snob hehehe Quote: Originally Posted by Jacilynda TBC is doing our cake.... 12. i work for an airline that flies from canada to mexico, and as of the last few years there is no letter of consent required for minors traveling with one parent/someone other than a parent. as long as you have the childs passport that is all that is needed. also, besides that i see dozens of kids every day traveling to mexico with only one parent, for personal measure, we take my husbands kids to mexico all the time and a few years ago we did have to get a notarized letter from their mom but it is NOT required now. ETA: i just went to look it up in our reference manual to get a direct quote, and it actually says "Effective 21DEC04, LOC (letters of consent) are no longer required for minors traveling to Mexico." BUT as far as Immigration Canada is concerned, the airline will not deny travel to a customer without it when re-entering Canada, but Canada may detain the customer or deny entry. it does say divorced parents should have proof of custody, and widowed parents must have a death cert, but nothing about single, unmarried parent with child. ALL OF THE ABOVE PERTAINS TO entry or RE-ENTRY TO CANADA, not entry into mexico, fyi.
